  • Liquid manure fertilizer drived from pig slurry is a valuable source of nutrients for crop production. However, there is no study for environmental assessment regarding microbial quality to apply liquid manure fertilizer. Therefore, this study aimed at quantifying the level of environmental impact on fecal coliform (Escherichia coli or E. coli ) survival in saturated soil such as paddy field. Surface water samples were collected up to 168 and 11 hours under natural sunlight and artificial ultraviolet radiation, respectively. The inactivation rate of E. coli under natural sunlight increased gradually after 48 hours. However, the inactivation rate of E. coli under artificial ultraviolet radiation increased linearly over time. Our findings suggested that the ultraviolet radiation is the limited factor on E. coli survival in surface water of saturated soil. This result will provide useful and practical guideline to applicators of agricultural soil in deciding appropriate handling and time frames for preventing pollution of water quality for sustainable agriculture.

  • Over the past few years, training professionals have become more pragmatic in their approach to technology-based media by using it to augment traditional forms of training delivery, such as classroom instruction and text-based materials. This trend has led to the rise of the term blended learning. Blended learning, an environment of e-learning, is a powerful learning solution created through a mixture of face-to-face and online learning delivered through a mix of media and superior learning experiences. In this article we design and implement an e-learning environment for blended learning. The environment focused on following factors: learning activity and participation of learners, and real time feedback of instructor.

  • This study investigates the effects of business environment on the e-business strategy and performance of venture firms. The development of the research model is based on the empirical studies on the strategy literature. The data from the survey was analyzed using Partial Least Squares(PLS). For Daedeok Valley Venture Firms, product innovation differentiation strategy is affected by environmental uncertainty. And, cost leadership strategy tend to be influence by environmental uncertainty. Finally, venture firm's performance is effected by cost leadership strategy and marketing differentiation strategy. However, for in Hsinchu Science Park Venture Firms, product innovation differentiation strategy is affected by environmental uncertainty and heterogeneity. And, marketing differentiation strategy is enhanced by environment uncertainty and industry growth. In addition, cost leadership strategy tend to be influence by environmental uncertainty and heterogeneity. Finally, venture firm's performance is effected by cost leadership strategy and product innovation differentiation strategy.

  • The paper presents the state-of-the-art in aerodynamic performance of the modern horizontal axis wind turbine. The study examines the different complexities involved with wind turbine blade aerodynamic performance in open atmosphere and turbine wakes, and highlights the issues which require further investigations. Additionally, the latest concept of smart blades and frequently used wind turbine design analysis tools have also been discussed. The investigation made through this literature survey shows significant progress towards wind turbine aerodynamic performance improvements in general. However, still there are several parameters whose behavior and specific role in regulating the performance of the blades is yet to be elucidated clearly; in particular, the wind turbulence, rotational effects, coupled effect of turbulence and rotation, extreme wind events, formation and life time of the wakes.

  • Traditional methods for datamining typically assume that the data is small, centralized, memory resident and static. But this assumption is no longer acceptable, because datasets are growing very fast hence becoming huge from time to time. There is fast growing need to manage data with efficient mining algorithms. In such a scenario it is inevitable to carry out data mining in a distributed environment and Frequent Itemset Mining (FIM) is no exception. Thus, the need of an efficient incremental mining algorithm arises. We propose the Distributed Incremental Approximate Frequent Itemset Mining (DIAFIM) which is an incremental FIM algorithm and works on the distributed parallel MapReduce environment. The key contribution of this research is devising an incremental mining algorithm that works on the distributed parallel MapReduce environment.

  • The AMMI (additive main effects and multiplicative interaction) and GGE (genotype main effect and genotype by environment interaction) biplot which were accounted for a substantial part of total sum of square in the analysis of variance suggested to be more appropriate models for explaining G $\times$ E interaction. The grain yield of total ten sesame genotypes was significantly affected by environment which explained 61% of total variation, whereas genotype and genotype x environment interaction (G $\times$ E) were explained 16%, 24% respectively. From the results of experiment, three genotypes Miryang49, Koppoom and Ansan were unstable, whereas other three genotypes Kyeongbuk18, Miryang50 and Kanghuk which were shorter projections to AEA ordinate were relatively stable over the environments. Yangbak which was closeness to the mean yield and short projection of the genotype marker lines was regarded as genotype indicating good performance with stability. Ansan, Miryang48 and Yangbaek showed the best performance in the environments of Naju, Suwon, Iksan and Andong. Similarly, genotype Miyrang47 exhibited the best performance in the environments of Chuncheon and Miryang. Andong is the closest to the ideal environment, and therefore, is the most desirable among eight environments.

  • Trust for the data created, processed and transferred on e-Science environments can be estimated with provenance. The information to form provenance, which says how the data was created and reached its current state, increases as data evolves. It is a heavy burden to trace and verify the massive provenance in order to trust data. On the other hand, it is another issue how to trust the verification of data with provenance. This paper proposes a fast and exact verification of inter-domain data transfer and data origin for e-Science environment based on PKI. The verification, which is called two-way verification, cuts down the tracking overhead of the data along the causality presented on Open Provenance Model with the domain specialty of e-Science environment supported by Grid Security Infrastructure (GSI). The proposed scheme is easy-applicable without an extra infrastructure, scalable irrespective of the number of provenance records, transparent and secure with cryptography as well as low-overhead.

  • In these days, the smart devices are being developed and used repeatedly. But almost E-learning System did not provide these smart devices environment and user's E-learning space is changing from Single-screen environment to multi-Screen environment. Accordingly we configure smart E-learning space based on multi-screen and integrate the multi-media contents for the Smart E-learning service. We present the synchronization techniques to make the multi-screen environment for smart space with Timed Link and design the Timed Button to relate each Screen which is using multi-media e-learning contents.

  • The research in the field of quality engineering has mainly focused on the manufactured products. The philosophy and concept of the existing quality engineering should be equally applicable in the coming e-Business era. However, there would be numerous new quality-related issues in the e-Business environment, due to the fundamental change in the business processes, which did not exist in the past. This paper first proposes a framework for quality engineering research suited for the e-Business environment, and then identifies major quality-related issues that should be resolved in the near future. It also evaluates the potential usefulness and limitations of the existing quality engineering tools in resolving such issues.
