Dynamic thermal rating (DTR) system is an effective method to improve the capacity of existing overhead line. According to the methodology based on CIGRE (International Council on Large Electric systems) standard, ampacity values under steady-state heating balance can be calculated from ambient environmental conditions. In this study, simulation analysis of relations between parameters and ampacity is described as functional dependence, which can provide an effective basis for the design and research of overhead transmission lines. The simulation of ampacity variation in different rating scales is described in this paper, which are determined from real-time meteorological data and conductor state parameters. To test the performance of DTR in different rating scales, capacity improvement and risk level are presented. And the experimental results show that the capacity of transmission line by using DTR has significant improvement, with low probability of risk. The information of this study has an important reference value to the operation management of power grid.
In our research we have offered a solid solution for aeronautical analysis. which can guarantee the asymptotic stability of coupled nonlinear facilities. According to the theoretical solutions and methods presented, the engine of this aircraft is a small high-bypass turbofan engine. using the non-linear aero-motor control approach and this paper focuses on the power management function of the aero-motor control system. These include static controls and transient controls. A mathematical model of the high-bypass-ratio two-spool unmixed-flow aeroengine was developed through a set of nonlinear dynamic equations verified by experimental data. A single actuator using the displacement method is designed to maintain a certain level of thrust under steady-state conditions. and maintains repeatable performance during transient operation from the requested thrust phase to the next. A single controller can compensate for the effects of noise and harmonic noise at many performance points. And the dynamic performance of a single controller is satisfactory during the transient. for fairness Numerical and computer experiments are described in the perfection of the methods we offer in research.
In coal mining activities, the abutment stress of the coal has to undergo cyclic loading and unloading, affecting the strength and seepage characteristics of coal; additionally, it can cause dynamic disasters, posing a major challenge for the safety of coal mine production. To improve the understanding of the dynamic disaster mechanism of gas outburst and rock burst coupling, triaxial devices are applied to axial pressure cyclic loading-unloading tests under different axial stress peaks and different pore pressures. The existing empirical formula is use to perform a non-linear regression fitting on the relationship between stress and permeability, and the damage rate of permeability is introduced to analyze the change in permeability. The results show that the permeability curve obtained had "memory", and the peak stress was lower than the conventional loading path. The permeability curve and the volume strain curve show a clear symmetrical relationship, being the former in the form of a negative power function. Owing to the influence of irreversible deformation, the permeability difference and the damage of permeability mainly occur in the initial stage of loading-unloading, and both decrease as the number of cycles of loading-unloading increase. At the end of the first cycle and the second cycle, the permeability decreased in the range of 5.777 - 8.421 % and 4.311-8.713 %, respectively. The permeability decreases with an increase in the axial stress peak, and the damage rate shows the opposite trend. Under the same conditions, the permeability of methane is always lower than that of helium, and it shows a V-shape change trend with increasing methane pressures, and the permeability of the specimen was 3 MPa > 1 MPa > 2 MPa.

Recently, safety diagnosis of the existing structures has been emerged as important issue. In particular, systematical and precise safety diagnostics for steel structures for power substation, have been required. Steel structures for power substation are under the periodical impact loads from operations of gas insulated switchgear. These loading condition accelerates damage and aging of structure. The objective of this research is to evaluate damage of structure under periodical impact loads. To evaluate the integrity of structures as organizing mathematical models including the dynamic characteristics of structures, Frequency Domain Decomposition method was choiced and an algorism was proposed. For verifying this methods and algorism, a mathematical model is composed of the development of a variety of reverse analysis and a signal processing technology reflecting physical damage of structures. A series of analysis and test results indicatge that proposed method has a confidence for applying a filed test. Therefore, it is expected to be able to take advantage of system identification to detect damage for the maintenance and management of steel structures under periodical impact loads such as power substation.

As data utilization is becoming more important recently, the importance of data centers is also increasing. However, the data center is a problem in terms of environment and economy because it is a massive power-consuming facility that runs 24 hours a day. Recently, studies using deep learning techniques to reduce power used in data centers or servers or predict traffic have been conducted from various perspectives. However, the amount of traffic data processed by the server is anomalous, which makes it difficult to manage the server. In addition, many studies on dynamic server management techniques are still required. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a dynamic server management technique based on Long-Term Short Memory (LSTM), which is robust to time series data prediction. The proposed model allows servers to be managed more reliably and efficiently in the field environment than before, and reduces power used by servers more effectively. For verification of the proposed model, we collect transmission and reception traffic data from six of Wikipedia's data centers, and then analyze and experiment with statistical-based analysis on the relationship of each traffic data. Experimental results show that the proposed model is helpful for reliably and efficiently running servers.
In this paper, we introduce an application-specific and adaptive power management technique for portable systems that support dynamic voltage scaling (DVS). We exploit both the idle time of multitasking systems running soft real-time tasks as well as memory- or CPU-bound code regions. Detailed power and execution time profiles guide an adaptive power manager (APM) that is linked to the operating system. A post-pass optimizer marks candidate regions for DVS by inserting calls to the APM. At runtime, the APM monitors the CPU's performance counters to dynamically determine the affinity of the each marked region. for each region, the APM computes the optimal voltage and frequency setting in terms of energy consumption and switches the CPU to that setting during the execution of the region. Idle time is exploited by monitoring system idle time and switching to the energy-wise most economical setting without prolonging execution. We show that our method is most effective for periodic workloads such as video or audio decoding. We have implemented our method in a multitasking operating system (Microsoft Windows CE) running on an Intel XScale-processor. We achieved up to 9% of total system power savings over the standard power management policy that puts the CPU in a low Power mode during idle periods.

Among many energy resources, natural gas has recently received a remarkable amount of attention, particularly from the electrical generation industry. This is in part due to increasing shale gas production, providing an environment-friendly fossil fuel, and high risk of nuclear power. Because South Korea, the world's second largest LNG importing nation after Japan, has no international natural gas pipelines and relies on imports in the form of LNG, the natural gas has been traditionally procured by long term LNG contracts at relatively high price. Thus, there is a need of developing an Asian LNG trading hub, where LNG can be traded at more competitive spot prices. In a natural gas spot market, the amount of natural gas to be bought should be carefully determined considering a limited storage capacity and future pricing dynamics. In this work, the problem to find the optimal amount of natural gas in a spot market is formulated as a Markov decision process (MDP) in risk neutral environment and the optimal base stock policy which depends on a stage and price is established. Taking into account price and demand uncertainties, the basestock target levels are simply approximated from dynamic programming. The simulation results show that the basestock policy can be one of effective ways for procurement of LNG in a spot market.
It is generally accepted that dynamic voltage scaling (DVS) is one of the most effective techniques of energy minimization for real-time applications in embedded system design. The effectiveness comes from the fact that the amount of energy consumption is quadractically proportional to the voltage applied to the processor. The penalty is the execution delay, which is linearly and inversely proportional to the voltage. According to the granularity of tasks to which voltage scaling is applied, the DVS problem is divided into two subproblems: inter-task DVS problem, in which the determination of the voltage is carried out on a task-by-task basis and the voltage assigned to the task is unchanged during the whole execution of the task, and intra-task DVS problem, in which the operating voltage of a task is dynamically adjusted according to the execution behavior to reflect the changes of the required number of cycles to finish the task before the deadline. Frequent voltage transitions may cause an adverse effect on energy minimization due to the increase of the overhead of transition time and energy. In addition, DVS needs to be carefully applied so that the dynamically varying chip temperature should not exceed a certain threshold because a drastic increase of chip temperature is highly likely to cause system function failure. This paper reviews representative works on the theoretical solutions to DVS problems regarding inter-task DVS, intra-task DVS, voltage transition, and thermal-aware DVS.
We investigate the dynamic relationship between stock returns and investors' behavior. For the putpose of the paper, daily KOSPI returns are decomposed into two parts: overnight returns and daytime returns. Overnight return is measured by the closing price of the previous day and the opening price of the current day. And daytime return is measured by the opening and closing prices of the current day. Qvernight returns are assumed to reflect global economic information, and daytime returns, domestic or local information. Major results are as follows: Foreign investors' behavior has an effect on the overnight returns more than the daytime returns. Individual investors' behavior, however, has little effect on the overnight returns, but not the daytime returns. Consequently, forecast error variance decomposition shows that the variance explanation power of foreign investors is higher in overnight returns rather than in the daytime returns. And the variance explanation power of individual investors is higher in daytime returns rather than in overnight returns. It implies that foreign investors employ dynamic hedging strategies and give more weight to global economic information rather than to domestic information. We conclude that investment behavior of foreign investors and domestic individuals is based on different economic information. This paper's findings are consistent with the economic situation that the Korean capital markets have faced since the global financial crisis of August 2008.

Managing with the presence of sea ice is the primary challenge in the operation of floating platforms in the Arctic region. It is widely accepted that offshore structures operating in Arctic conditions need station-keeping methods as well as ice management by icebreakers. Dynamic Positioning (DP) is one of the station-keeping methods that can provide mobility and flexibility in marine operations. The presence of sea ice generates complex external forces and moments acting on the vessel, which need to be counteracted by the DP system. In this paper, an icevaning control algorithm is proposed that enables Arctic offshore vessels to perform DP operations. The proposed icevaning control enables each vessel to be oriented toward the direction of the mean environmental force induced by ice drifting so as to improve the operational safety and reduce the overall thruster power consumption by having minimum external disturbances naturally. A mathematical model of an Arctic offshore vessel is summarized for the development of the new icevaning control algorithm. To determine the icevaning action of the Arctic offshore vessel without any measurements and estimation of ice conditions including ice drift, task and null space are defined in the vessel model, and the control law is formulated in the task space. A backstepping technique is utilized to handle the nonlinearity of the Arctic offshore vessel's dynamic model, and the Lyapunov stability theory is applied to guarantee the stability of the proposed icevaning control algorithm. Experiments are conducted in the ice tank of the Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach.
