  • As Internet protocol and wireless communications have developed, the number of different types of mobile services has increased gradually. Existing priority-computing schemes cannot satisfy the dynamic requirements of supporting multiple services in future wireless communication systems, because the currently used factors, mainly user priority, are relatively simple and lack relevancy. To solve this problem and provide the desired complexity, dynamic behavior, and fairness features of 3G and beyond 3G mobile communication systems, this paper proposes a novel cross-layer dynamic integrated priority-computing scheme that computes the priority based on a variety of factors, including quality of service requirements, subscriber call types, waiting time, movement mode, and traffic load from the corresponding layers. It is observed from simulation results that the proposed dynamic integrated priority scheme provides enhanced performance.

  • Cellular Automata(CA) have been investigated and utilized as a theoretical framework and/or methodology for analyzing and simulating the properties and behaviors of many complex systems in various physical science and engineering field. Due to the conceptual elegance and effectiveness of implementing spatio-temporal dynamic models and the compatibility with raster GISs, recently a variety of modeling works using both CA and GIS have been published in GIS fields Most of spatial dynamic models introduced in previous research, however, were very limited and furthermore integrated CA-GIS system for practical modeling purpose are not developed yet. This study aims to develop an integrated CA-GIS system in which a CA simulator is used as an analytical engine for GIS providing a multipurpose spatial dynamic modeling functionalities. This integrated CA-GIS system is anticipated radically enhancing the current lacking dynamic modeling functionalities of GIS and being utilized as an powerful and effective tool for practical spatial dynamic modeling research.

  • Pseudomonas amygdali is a hemibiotrophic phytopathogen that causes disease in woody and herbaceous plants. Complete genomes of four P. amygdali pathovars were comparatively analyzed to decipher the impact of genomic diversity on host colonization. The pan-genome indicated that 3,928 core genes are conserved among pathovars, while 504-1,009 are unique to specific pathovars. The unique genome contained many mobile elements and exhibited a functional distribution different from the core genome. Genes involved in O-antigen biosynthesis and antimicrobial peptide resistance were significantly enriched for adaptation to hostile environments. While the type III secretion system was distributed in the core genome, unique genomes revealed a different organization of secretion systems as follows: type I in pv. tabaci, type II in pv. japonicus, type IV in pv. morsprunorum, and type VI in pv. lachrymans. These findings provide genetic insight into the dynamic interactions of the bacteria with plant hosts.

  • A variety of approaches on performance evaluation modeling have appeared in the technical literature for flexible manufacturing systems(FMS) which can be evaluated only through computer simulation. This study represents a comparative approach for FMS performance evaluation modeling based on reliability, availability and maintainability, and life cycle cost. The methodology proposed in this research includes the following three-step generative approaches. First, a static model to find the initial system configuration is considered under the assumption that the system availability is given as one (failure and maintenance are not considered), and in second step, a stochastic simulation is proposed to serve as a performance evaluation model for FMS with stochastic failure and repair time. In the last step, we developed a simulation modeling using a simulator, FACTOR/AIM to consider a variety of performance factors and dynamic behavior of FMS. Also the applicability and validity of the proposed approaches has been tested and compared through the results of a sample problem using computer programs and procedures developed in each step.

  • Vehicle driving simulators hale been used in the development and modification of models. A simulator can reduce cost and time through a variety of driving simulations in the laboratory. Recently, driving simulators have begun to proliferate in the automotive industry and the associated research community. This paper presents the hardware and software developed fur a driving simulator of construction vehicles. This effect involves the real-time dynamic analysis of wheel-type excavator, the design and manufacturing of the Stewart platform, an integrated control system of the platform, and three-dimensional graphic modeling of the driving environments.

  • In-situ production of PC (precast concrete) members can reduce costs by about 14.5% -21.6% compared to in-plant production due to the reduction of transportation costs, factory profits and overhead costs. However, in-situ production of PC members presents a variety of risks, including member production and yard area securing, and lead time for production within the installation period. To solve this, it is necessary be able to analyze and control and monitor the risk factors that influence in-situ production for PC member. The purpose of this study is to develop a dynamic simulation model for in-situ production and erection integrated management for PC members. For this study, risk factor identification, causal loop diagram, and dynamic simulation model construction were performed sequentially. The results of this study will be used as a basis for developing a risk management model for PC in-situ production.

  • The flight software monitors the status of the satellite and performs attitude control and its own mission. Due to the operating environments and its uniqueness, the high level of reliability is required for the flight software. To this end, a variety of activities to meet the given requirements and improve the safety and reliability are made during the development of flight software. A variety of development environments should be provided to support execution of flight software on hardware or satellite simulator and dynamic verification of flight software through command/telemetry interface. The satellite flight software team has been developing the IVF to be applied to various satellite projects more effectively and to improve the reliability of flight software. In this paper, the design and configuration method of IVF for the effective verification of flight software is introduced.

  • MAC(Medium Access Control) is demanded to provide end-to-end QoS(Quality of Service) for a variety of traffic in the wireless networks. When all the traffic is integrated in the channel, the main difficulty of the MAC protocol is how to efficiently support multi-class traffic in the limited bandwidth wireless channel. In this paper, we proposed the dynamic bandwidth slot method for improving QoS of the real time traffics. In this paper, we used in-band scheme to send dynamic parameter and considering buffer size and delay variation, we enabled 2 state bits to send to base station in mobile station. The proposed algorithm is to guarantee QoS of real time traffic and maximize transfer efficiency in wireless networks.
