Wind turbine requires service life of about 20 years and each components of wind turbine requires high durability, because installation and maintenance costs are more expensive than generated electricity by wind-turbine. So the design of wind turbine must be verified in various condition before production step. For this work, high reliability model for analysis is required. Drivetrain model is modeled by multibody dynamic modeling method. The model constituted with rotor blades, hub, main shaft, gear box, high speed shaft and generator. • The larger trends related to cracking in ocean going vessels (primarily tankers and bulk carriers) are reviewed on the basis of available data. The typical interrelated causes of such cracking are: high local stresses, extensive use of higher strength steels, inadequate treatment of dynamic loads, adverse operational factors (harsh weather, improper vessel handling), and controllable structural degradation (corrosion, wear, stevedore damage). Three consequences of cracking are then discussed: structural failure, pollution, and increased maintenance. The first two, while rare, are potentially of high consequence including loss of life. The types of solutions that can be employed to improve the durability of ships in the face of fatigue cracking are then presented. For existing vessels, these solutions range from repairs based on structural analysis or service experience, control of corrosion, and enhanced surveys. For new vessels, the use of advanced design procedures that specifically address dynamic loads and fatigue cracking is necessary. As the preferred solution to the problem of cracking in ships, this paper advocates prevention by explicit design by first principles.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the resistance of water-permeable concretes to freezing and thawing action. The water-permeable concretes with cement-aggregate ratio of 1:5.5(by weight) and two kinds of admixture content [SP : superplasticizer(0, 1.0%), HPAE : high performance air entraining agent(0.5, 1%)] used OPC(ordinary portland cement) as binder were prepared, and then tested for relative dynamic modulus of elasiticity, mass change, length change and durablity factor. It's been concluded from the test results that the superior relative dynamic modulus of elasiticity and durability factor of water-permeable concretes were obtained at superplaciticizer 1.0% after 300 cycles. The water-permeable concretes used superplasiticizer 1.0% having relative durability factor of 88% after 300 cycles.

  • The roller rig tester for safety performance evaluation of wheel derailment is a test facility which can give the test load condition to the test wheel, similar to the actual dynamic condition in actual running condition. This study describes the evaluation result on the durability of the resilient wheel equipped with the ring damper and the damping material, and installed in the half part of a full scaled bogie in combination with the primary spring when it rotates under the dynamic condition. The evaluation result on durability of resilient wheel after load test of 2 million cycles shows that the safety of wheel is not affected by the applied load in visual inspection and nondestructive test, however, in the bolt used for fastening the ring damper to the wheel the loosening was found. Accordingly the use of self-locking nut and washer is recommended.

  • In this paper, a blackbox approach is carried out to model the nonlinear dynamic bushing model. One-axis durability test is performed to describe the mechanical behavior of typical vehicle elastomeric components. The results of the tests are used to develop an empirical bushing model with an artificial neural network. The back propagation algorithm is used to obtain the weighting factor of the neural network. Since the output for a dynamic system depends on the histories of inputs and outputs, Narendra algorithm of 'NARMAX' form is employed to consider these effects. A numerical example is carried out to verify the developed bushing model.

  • Dynamic stability of the main spindle system shall be ensured when operating the planer miller for remanufacturing the planer miller. This paper explains the analysis process that determines the stability of the planer miller spindle system in the design stage using ANSYS, an analysis program. First, the dynamic stability of the main spindle system is verified through risk speed analysis in the rated RPM range of the planer miller through ANSYS Modal Analysis, and second, the stability and durability of the main spindle system are verified through ANSYS nCode Analysis.

  • Focused on the material-related aspect for enhancing the durability of concrete, the present study analyzed the effect of glycol ether admixture, which is a chemical admixture that can compact the structure of concrete by entraining air inside the concrete, on the basic physical properties and durability characteristic of the concrete. In analyzing the results of experiment, we examined the basic physical properties and durability characteristic of concrete according to addition rate based on OPC and selected the optimal addition rate. In addition, with the optimal addition rate, we added glycol ether admixture to concrete, which contained fly ash used as binder and high-performance water reducing agent for reducing the unit quantity, and examined changes in the characteristics of the concrete. According to the result, the optimal addition rate of glycol ether admixture was 3% of the unit quantity of cement, and the addition of binder and chemical admixture did not have a significant effect on unhardened concrete but reduced the air content. In addition, concrete showed resistance performance of around 30% to carbonation and around 40% to drying shrinkage. In addition, as for resistance to freezing and thawing, the relative dynamic modulus of elasticity was over around 85% through atmospheric curing. These performances prove the effect.

  • For the design of welded bogie frame, the concept of multidisciplinary engineering activities, i.e. static, fatigue and dynamic analysis, has been applied, in which the sharing of design parameters related with each analysis and the collaboration of the working parts in charge should be fulfilled. However, in spite of these necessities, the multi-disciplinary engineering activities couldn't be performed in practice due to tack of the automation of the required analysis. In this paper, an automation of fatigue durability analysis of welded bogie frame according to UIC-Code was proposed by using the Model Center, which enables to integrate the several tools for the fatigue durability analysis, i.e. I-DEAS, ANSYS and BFAP, and to perform iterative analysis works in relation to the geometrical change of transom support bracket. Besides, the wrapping programs to control I/O-data and interfaces of these tools were developed. The developed automation technique brings not only significant decreasing man-hour required in the durability analysis, but also providing a platform of the multidisciplinary engineering activities.

  • The evaluation of durability performance in Virtual Testing Laboratory(VTL) is a new concept of vehicle design, which can reduce the automotive design period and cost. In this study, the multibody dynamics model of a car is built with a reverse engineering design. Hard points and masses of components are measured by a surface scanning device and imported into CAD system. In order to simulate the non-linear dynamic behavior of force elements such as dampers and bushes, components and materials are tested with specialized test equipments. An optimized numerical model for the damping behavior is used and the hysteresis of bush rubber is considered in the simulation. Loads of components are calculated in VTL and used in the evaluation of durability performance. In order to verify simulation results, loads of components in the vehicle are measured and durability tests are performed.
