난류형 클린룸내의 Layout 변화에 따른 분진제거 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Phenomena of Dust Removal by the Layout Changes in the Turbulent Type Clean Room)

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the removal efficiency of fine dusts as the configuration condition of machinery and equipments in Clean Room and to analyze the flowing behaviors of fine dusts as the layout of Clean Room. The layout of the Clean Room was classified into side layout type, 2 center line type and center concentration type layout, and the flow rates used in this research were 0.22m/s, 0.44m/s and0.80m/s. Dust removal efficiency as layout change was decreased 37% for side layout type, 31% for 2 centerline type and 20% for center concentration type layout at the flow rate of 0.22m/s, compared with the state without machinery and equipments in Clean Room. The efficiency was decreased 42% for side layout type,22% for 2 center line type and 8% for center concentration type layout at the flow rate of 0.44m/s, and decreased 20% for side layout type, 18% for 2 center line type and 10% for center concentration type layout at the flow rate of 0.80m/s. According to the result of dust removal behavior, $0.3\mum$, $1\mum$and $3\mum$dust except for $5\mum$showed the higher change of the behavior in side layout type than in center concentration type layout due to the change of air flow. It was confirmed that removal behavior depends on the layout of machinery and equipments as the dust size decreases.

저곡창고에서 분리된 Bacilus thuringiensis의 특성조사 (Characterization of Bacillus thuringiensis Isolated in Granary Dusts)

  • 효과적인 미생물 제제로 사용할 수 있는 Bacillus thuringiensis 균주들을 분리하기 위하여 경기도 일원의 72군데의 저곡창고에서 먼지를 채취하여 B. thuringiensis의 분포와 독성을 조사하였다. 총 411개의 채취된 저곡창고의 먼지에서 포자와 내독소 단백질을 생산하는 146개에 이르는 많은 수의 B. thuringiensis가 분리되었다. 저곡창고에서 분리된 146개 Bt의 독성 분포는 나비목의 누에 (Bombyx mori)유충에 독성을 띠는 균주가 84%로 가장 많이 분리되었고, 파리목의 빨간 집모기(Culex pipiens)유충에는 3%, 나비목과 파리목에 동시에 독성을 띠는 균주는 1%였다. 그러나 딱정벌레목의 쌀바구미(Sitophitus oryzae)에 독성을 띠는 균주는 분리되지 않았으며, 내독소 단백질은 형성하지만 독성을 띠지 않는 B. thuringiensis가 12%의 비율로 분리되어 흔히 존재함을 알 수 있었다. 이상의 결과로서 저곡창고는 B. thuringiensis의 유리한 분리장소임을 알 수 있었다.

사료 부원료 하역과정에서 발생하는 비산먼지의 여과특성 (Filtration Characteristics of the Fugitive Dust Emitting from Animal Feedstuff Handling)

  • Animal feedstuff handling is one of the major fugitive dust sources in the port of Incheon. For the effective control of fugitive dusts emitting from the port of Incheon, dust control facilities with bag filter systems should be designed properly considering the characteristic of the fugitive dusts including those from animal feedstuffs. The ultimate goal of this study is thus to develop the optimum fugitive dust control system which will be applicable for the renovation of the port. As the first step to achieve this longstanding goal, filtration characteristics of soybean shell, the largest dust sources in the port, were investigated with the specially designed filter testing apparatus for this study. The variables tested for the experiments included filter materials, dust concentrations, relative humidities, and filtration velocities. Also, the filtration characteristics of the other animal feedstuffs such as sunflower seed shell, tapioca, and palm shell were investigated to determine $K_2$ as a function of filtration velocity. The information on $K_2$ will be used to design the optimum bag filter systems for animal feedstuffs handling in the port.

시멘트 제조·취급사업장에서 발생하는 공기 중 분진의 노출평가 (Exposure Assessment of Airborne Dusts in the Cement Manufacturing and Handling Industries)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate concentrations in airborne total and respirable dusts in the cement manufacturing and handling industries. Methods: Fifty-three total dust and 42 respirable dustsamples were collected from 24 work places. Total dust samples were collected using a three-stage cassette. Respirable dust samples were collected using a cyclone equipped with a 37 mm, $5{\mu}m$ pore size PVC filter. Results: The geometric means of the dust concentrations were $0.10mg/m^3$ and $0.08mg/m^3$ in total dust and respirable dust, respectively. The Korean Occupational Exposure Limit($10mg/m^3$) was not exceeded, but the rate of exceeding the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienist(ACGIH) Threshold Limit Value($1mg/m^3$) was 16.7%. Conclusion: When measuring the level of dust at cement manufacturers, the airborne concentration of respirable dust should be evaluated. In order to protect the health of workers exposed to cement dust, it is necessary to actively consider strengthening the Korean Occupational Exposure Limit.

장항제련소 지역 토양과 분진중의 Cu, Pb, Zn 및 Cd의 지구화학적 분산과 산출상태 (Geochemical Dispersion of Cu, Pb, Zn, and Cd and Their Mode of Occurrences in Soils and Dusts in Changhang Smelter Area)

  • Soils and dusts collected from Changhang smelter area were analyzed for Cu, Pb, Zn, and Cd in order to determine their dispersion pattern and mode of occurrences, and to investigate the pollution level of heavy metals such as Cu, Pb, Zn, and Cd by smelting activity. The soil pH of Changhang area is in the range of 3.7~8.8, and increased with increasing distance from the smelter site. The particles containing heavy metals are several tens of ${\mu}m$ in diameter, and have well crystal form. Samples collected near the smelter show similar particle properties in size, shape, and composition, which means that they could be originated from the same contamination source. Element couples of Cu, Pb, Zn, and Cd indicate high correlation with each other, which means that Cu, Pb, Zn, and Cd could be originated from the same point source of smelter. Heavy metal contents were decayed to background levels from 2.5 kilometer away from the smelter.

발전기 회전자 권선의 운전중 층간단락 탐지 (On-Line Detection of Shorted Turn in Generator Rotor Windings)

  • During start up and shut down, the generator is rotating at a low speed and copper dusts cause arcing between the turns in the slot. Shorted turns occurred primarily by the movement of these copper dusts between individual windings in the generator rotor. Detection of shorted turns was performed in five gas turbine generators in two combined cycle power plants. Two types of permanent and temporary flux probes were used in this paper. These flux probes have been used to develop a methodology for detecting shorted turns in an operating generator's rotor. The flux probes sense the rotor winding slot leakage flux and produce a voltage proportional to the rate of change of the flux. This pattern of flux variation is the signature unique to each rotor winding. An appropriate waveform analysis technique canidentify the pole location, the slot number, and the number of shorted turns within each slot. Shorted turns in field winding of gas turbine generator(125.7 MVA) were detected to twelve turns on al total 190 turns.

黃砂現象의 大氣汚染物質 動態에 關한 硏究 (Dynamics of Air Pollutants during the Yellow Sand Phenomena)

  • To check the possible transportation of gaseous air pollutants with the particles of yellow sand in the movement of air masses during the Yellow Sand Phenomenon, the concentrations of such air pollutants as TSP, $SO_2, CO, NO_x, O_3 and N-CH_4$, and wind wpeed were measured during the Yellow Sand Phenomenon (April 8 $\sim 10, 1990) and they were compared with those during the normal times in Korea. Meanwhile dust color of the samples during the Yellow Sand Phenomenon was the color of sand, that during the normal times was dark-brown. The concentrations of dusts; water soluble components, and metallic components of soil-originated elements during the Yellow Sand Phenomenon were higher than those during the normal times. While the metallic components in the dusts during the Yellow Sand Phenomenon were from soil-originated elements, those during the normal times were of both soiloriginated and sea-originated elements. The change of hourly concentrations of air pollutants showed bi-modal distribution during the two periods. Generally, the concentration levels of air pollutants during the Yellow Sand Period were higher than those during the normal times. Although similarity was observed in the primary sources, differences were observed in the dynamics of the secondary sources due to chemical reactions of the air pollutants during the two periods.

제천 dust를 활용한 비소성펠릿의 고온특성 (High Temperature Properties of Cold Bonded Pellets Based on Dusts from Steel Plants)

  • 제철공정의 더스트류로부터 제조된 비소성펠릿의 고로 조업의 가능성을 파악하기 위해서 다음과 같은 고온특성을 조사하였다. 고로용 CBP는 상온강도 외에 고온특성기준을 추가하여 검토한 결과, 다음과 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. CBP의 염기도는 1.7 전후가 적절한 고온특성을 나타내었으며, 결합제로서 포틀랜드계 보다는 수재 슬래그계 시멘트가 우수한 용융특성에 적절함을 확인하였다. 또한 연화-용융사이의 압손누적량 기준으로 볼 때 염기도 2.6이상의 CBP는 노내에서 통기성 악화 가능성을 나타내었다. 따라서 결합제의 종류보다는 기본적으로 염기도 관리가 중요하며 결합제는 펠릿의 압축강도 및 양생시간등을 고려하여 선택할 필요가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

마그네슘 분진의 열분해 및 발화온도 특성 (Characteristic of Thermal Decomposition and Ignition Temperature of Magnesium Particles)

  • 본 연구에서는 Mg분진의 분진입경과 승온속도에 따른 열분해 및 발화온도 특성을 실험적으로 조사하였다. 이를 위해 시료는 평균 입경이 서로 다른 38, 142, $567{\mu}m$의 Mg분진을 사용하였다. 실험에서는 열중량분석장치(TGA)와 IEC 61241-2-1규격에 따라 제작한 자연발화온도(MIT) 실험장치를 사용하여 실시하였다. 실험 결과 퇴적 Mg에 있어서 공기중 승온속도가 증가하면 중량개시온도는 증가하였으며, 동일한 승온속도 조건에서 입경의 증가는 발화온도의 증가로 나타났다. 또한 부유 Mg분진의 최저발화온도(MIT)는 평균 입경이 증가할수록 증가하는 경향을 보였다.
