  • This paper present, the result of the guidance and control law for a course correction munitions(CCM) with 2sets of canards positioned in the rotating nose section. The nonlinear simulation model of the CCM was developed based on 7DOF equation of motion. The ability of correcting position was verified by open-loop control input with nonlinear model. The guidance and control command was constructed by reference trajectory which can be obtained with no control. Finally, the performance of the guidance and control law was evaluated through Monte-carlo simulation. The CEP(Circular Error Probability) was obtained by considering the errors in muzzle velocity, aerodynamic coefficient, wind, elevation and azimuth angle and density.

  • A challenging issue in design and implementation of an effective structural health monitoring (SHM) system is to determine where a number of sensors are properly installed. In this paper, research on the optimal sensor placement (OSP) is carried out on the Canton Tower (formerly named Guangzhou New Television Tower) of 610 m high. To avoid the intensive computationally-demanding problem caused by tens of thousands of degrees of freedom (DOFs) involved in the dynamic analysis, the three dimension finite element (FE) model of the Canton Tower is first simplified to a system with less DOFs. Considering that the sensors can be physically arranged only in the translational DOFs of the structure, but not in the rotational DOFs, a new method of taking the horizontal DOF as the master DOF and rotational DOF as the slave DOF, and reducing the slave DOF by model reduction is proposed. The reduced model is obtained by IIRS method and compared with the models reduced by Guyan, Kuhar, and IRS methods. Finally, the OSP of the Canton Tower is obtained by a kind of dual-structure coding based generalized genetic algorithm (GGA).

  • Microbial growth kinetics is often used to optimize environmental processes owing to its relation to the breakdown of substrate (contaminants). However, the quantification of bacterial populations in the environment is difficult owing to the challenges of monitoring a specific bacterial population within a diverse microbial community. Conventional methods are unable to detect and quantify the growth of individual strains separately in the mixed culture reactor. This work describes a novel quantitative PCR (qPCR)-based genomic approach to quantify each species in mixed culture and interpret its growth kinetics in the mixed system. Batch experiments were performed for both single and dual cultures of Pseudomonas putida and Escherichia coli K12 to obtain Monod kinetic parameters (μmax and Ks). The growth curves and kinetics obtained by conventional methods (i.e., dry weight measurement and absorbance reading) were compared with that obtained by qPCR assay. We anticipate that the adoption of this qPCR-based genomic assay can contribute significantly to traditional microbial kinetics, modeling practice, and the operation of bioreactors, where handling of complex mixed cultures is required.

  • Energy harvesting techniques, particularly radio frequency energy harvesting (RF-EH) techniques, which are known to provide feasible solutions to enhance the performance of energy constrained wireless communication systems, have gained increasing attention. In this paper, we consider a wireless-powered cooperative communication network (WPCCN) for transferring energy in the downlink and forwarding signals in the uplink. The objective is to maximize the average transmission rate of the system, subject to the total network power constraint. We formulate such a problem as a form of wireless energy transmission based on resource allocation that searches for the joint subcarrier pairing and the time and power allocation, and this can be solved by using a dual approach. Simulation results show that the proposed joint optimal scheme can efficiently improve system performance with an increase in the number of subcarriers and relays.

  • M104 (NGC 4594, the Sombrero) is an intriguing disk galaxy classified as an elliptical galaxy nowadays. It hosts a luminous bulge and a massive disk, but it is still mysterious how M104 acquired such peculiar structures. Globular clusters are an useful tracer to investigate the formation history of early-type galaxies. In this study we present a wide field imaging study of the globular clusters in M104. Using wide ($1^{\circ}{\times}1^{\circ}$) and deep ugi images of M104 obtained with the CFHT/MegaCam observations, we detect a large number of globular clusters. The color distribution of these globular clusters shows that there are two subpopulations: a metal-poor system and a metal-rich system. The radial number density of the metal-poor globular clusters shows a long tail reaching R ~ 30' (~ 80 kpc), indicating clearly the existence of a giant metal-poor halo in M104. This result is consistent with the previous studies on the dual halos of massive early-type galaxies. We will discuss implications of these results in relation with the formation history of M104.

  • The nice concept of undeniable signatures was presented by Chaum and van Antwerpen. Briefly, an undeniable signature is signature which cannot be verified withoug the help of the signer. They are therefore less personal than ordinary signatures in the sense that a signature cannot be related to the signer without his help. On the other hand, the signer can only repudiate an alleged signature by proving that it is incorrect. Boyar, Chaum, damgard and Pedersen introduce convertible undeniable signatures. In this schemes, release of a single bit string by the signer turns all of his signatures, which were originally undeniable signatures, into ordinary digital signatures. And, S.J.Kim, S.J.Park and D.H.Won propose a new kind of signature scheme, called "nominative signatures:, that is the dual scheme of undeniable signatures. nominative signatures acheieve theses objectives:Only nominee can verify the nominator(signer)' signature and if necessary, only nominee can prove to the third party that the signature is issued to him(her) and is valid. In this paper we present an efficient integrated system of nominative signatures and (convertible) undeniable signatures. i.e. we show how nominative signature scheme can be changed into a (convertible) undeniable signatures.ures.

  • Stabilizing the operation of dual fuel diesel engines is very important. The shipbuilding industry is rapidly growing, but gear components requiring reliability are still imported from other countries. The reasoning for this is three-fold. Firstly, it is compulsory that all ships must use devices that meet the performance standards specified in the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) and the convention of MARine POLlution (MAPOL) to prevent pollution caused by ships. Secondly, most ships must comply with the ship classifications specified by ship owners. Therefore, it is specified that key engine gear components must be inspected and authorized for the quality and performance specified by the Ship Register Authority. Thirdly, it is essential that devices (engine gear) for human safety in ships comply with quality standards specified in the regulations and rules by the government. The Ship Register Authority's strict quality standards and approval requirements contribute to the reduction of motivation towards new investment and technology development by device component manufacturers. Therefore, this study aims to develop a method for using infrared thermography to examine gear reliability in order to ensure gear component reliability and national competitiveness in the global market.

  • Sexual behavior is crucial in life, yet comparatively little is known about the mechanisms in the sexual response in humans. A lot of theories and models have been developed to explain about the process of the sexual response in humans. The first model of sexual function was described by Masters and Johnson, defined the four-phase model (phases of excitation, plateau, orgasm and resolution). Helen Kaplan proposed a slightly different model of human sexual response by adding the conception of the desire phase. Some years later, a new model of circular sexual response pattern was described by Whipple and Brash-McGreer, who acknowledged the cyclic nature of women's sexual response. Basson presented an alternative model of women's normative sexual function, which featured a responsive form of desire in women's sexual response. Bancroft developed a new theoretical model, the Dual Control Model, which postulates sexual response and arousal is ultimately determined by the balance between the sexual activation or excitation system and the sexual inhibition system. The Sexual Tipping Point is a model created by Perelman, suggesting that a sexual response is determined by a balance between excitatory or inhibitory factors that may be psychological, organic, psychosocial, or cultural. A comprehensive understanding of sexual response and function is of paramount importance for the psychiatrist to study sex, offer counseling to the patient on sex, and practice sex therapy. In this literature, models of sexual response would be reviewed to understand the knowledge of the sexual functioning in humans.
