Channel Coding-Aided Multi-Hop Transmission for Throughput Enhancement

  • Wireless communication chipsets have fixed transmission rate and communication distance. Although there are many kinds of chipsets with throughput and distance purpose, they cannot support various types of wireless applications. This paper provides theoretic research results in order to support various wireless applications requiring different throughput, delayed quality-of-service (QoS), and different communication distances by using a wireless communication chipset with fixed rate and transmission power. As a performance metric, the probability for a data frame that successfully receives at a desired receiver is adopted. Based on this probability, the average number of transmission in order to make a successful frame transmission is derived. Equations are utilized to analyze the performance of a single-hop with channel coding and a dual-hop without error correction matter transmission system. Our results revealed that single-hop transmission assisted by channel coding could extend its communication distance. However, communication range extending effect of the single-hop system was limited. Accordingly, dual-hop transmission is needed to overcome the communication distance limit of a chipset.

건너뜀 이중링크를 갖는 고확장성 CC-NUMA 시스템 (A Highly Scalable CC-NUMA System with Skipped Dual Links)

  • 다중 프로세서 시스템을 구성하기 위하여 점유가 발생하는 버스를 채용한 이래로, 상호연결망의 병목현상을 개선하기 위한 노력은 점대점 연결을 이용한 링 구조까지 발전되어 왔다. 상호연결망의 병목 현상은 다중 프로세서 시스템이 프로세서 수에 따른 선형적 성능 개선을 나타내지 못하게 하는 주요 제한 요소로 작용하였으며, 이러한 병목 현상을 개선하기 위한 상호연결망 구성 방법이 다수 연구되어 왔다. 본 논문은 현재 활발히 채용되고 있는 두 개의 점대점 연결을 이용한 링 구조에서 일정 규칙에 기반한 건너뜀 연결을 갖도록 개선하고 트랜잭션의 전송 경로를 정적 알고리즘으로 구현하여, 이중 링크를 가지는 CC-NUMA 시스템의 부하를 균일하게 분배시킴으로써 시스템의 성능과 확장성을 개선시켰다. 실험 결과에 의하면 단일 링크를 이용한 링 구조의 경우, 프로그램의 부하가 커질수록 프로세서의 추가에 따른 특정 링크의 병목 현상이 발생하였고, 시스템의 성능이 저하되었다. 본 논문에서 제시된 건너뜀 연결 구조의 경우, 동일한 대역폭을 가진 반대 방향 이중 링 구조에 비하여 높은 성능과 균등한 부하 분배에 의한 개선된 확장성을 얻을 수 있었고, 반대 방향 이중 링의 경우에 발견되는 부하 편차를 크게 줄일 수 있었다.

동일 채널 이중편파를 적용하는 디지털 무선 중계장치의 직교편파간섭제거기 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design of Cross-Polarization Interference Canceler for Digital Radio Relay System with Co-Channel Dual Polarization)

  • 본 논문에서는 동일채널 이중편파를 적용하는 디지털무선중계장치의 직교편파간섭을 제거할 목적으로 직교편파간섭제거기(XPIC)의 이론적 모델링, 디지털 설계를 분석하였다. 또한 유한임펄스응답 여파기를 이용한 복소 시간영역 적응등화기(ATDE)를 설계하고, 이를 이용한 XPIC의 구조 및 제어방법을 ATDE와의 연동하여 제시하였다. XPIC와 ATDE를 연동으로 약 25㏈ 이상의 시그너쳐(signature)와 약 23㏈ 이상의 XPIC 개선인자를 얻을 수 있음을 모의실험으로 보였다. 설계된 직편파간섭제거기의 동작검증을 위해 동일채널 이중편파용의 64-QAM모뎀과 연동하여 탭의 수, 알고리즘의 수렴, 장치의 성능, 직교편파간섭제거기의 개선인자에 대한 결과도 검토하였다.

  • The CAN (Controller Area Network) system is the most dominant protocol for in-vehicle networking system because it provides bounded transmission delay among ECUs (Electronic Control Units) at data rates between 125Kbps and 1Mbps. And, many automotive companies have chosen the CAN protocol for their in-vehicle networking system such as chassis network system because of its excellent communication characteristics. However, the increasing number of ECUs and the need for more intelligent functions such as ADASs (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) or IVISs (In-Vehicle Information Systems) require a network with more network capacity and the real-time QoS (Quality-of-Service). As one approach to enhancing the network capacity of a CAN system, this paper introduces a CAN system with dual communication channel. And, this paper presents a distributed message allocation method that allocates messages to the more appropriate channel using forecast traffic of each channel. Finally, an experimental testbed using commercial off-the-shelf microcontrollers with two CAN protocol controllers was used to demonstrate the feasibility of the CAN system with dual communication channel using the distributed message allocation method.

  • A real-time precise positioning is possible with GPS carrier phase measurements with efficient integer ambiguity resolution techniques. It is known that more reliable and fast integer ambiguity resolution is possi-ble as the number of measurements increases. Most precise positioning systems use dual frequency measurements and the wide-lnae technique to resolve integer ambiguity. The wide-lane technique magnifies the measurement noise while it reduces the number of candidates to be examined. In this paper a new integer ambiguity resolution method using dual frequency is proposed The proposed method utilizes the relationship between the wide-lane single frequency and the narrow-lane ambiguities to resolve narrow-lane integer ambiguity after fixing the wide-lane integer ambiguity. Experiments with real data show that the proposed method gives fast and reliable results.

중속용 Dual Fuel엔진의 윤활유에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Research on Lubricant Oil in Dual Fuel Medium-Speed Engines)

  • We performed an experimental research on lubricant oil in dual fuel medium-speed engines. It is important to select the appropriate lubricant oil because it could significantly affect engine lifetime and performance. We generally recommend the selection of the lubricant oil according to the fuel grades as contents in the project guide. However, it is a considerable challenge for shipyards to implement this concept because of the lack of space to install the complicated lubricating oil system for dual fuel engines. Therefore, we determine the adaptability of one-common lubricant oil for HiMSEN dual fuel engine through this experimental research. To check abnormality in gas mode operation and durability of engine components when a lubricating oil with high BN (base number) is used, overhaul inspections and lubricant oil analysis are carried out two times, and four times, respectively, during an operation of approximately 300 h. We investigated the variations in kinematic viscosity, base number, element quantity, pentane insoluble and sulfated ash in lubricant oil analysis. Moreover, we also investigated whether the deposit formation or wear occurred in various bearings, injectors, exhaust valves, intake valves, piston rings and so on through the overhaul inspections. There are no problems in the lubricant analysis and the overhaul inspections. Through the experimental research, we confirm that one-common lubricant oil should be selected according to the higher sulfur content of fuel oil in dual fuel engines.

  • The interaction between dual-ligand decorated particle-based delivery system and target cell under shear flow is predicted using probability model developed. We assumed the two kinds of ligand are decorated on the surface of the particle with 10% length difference. Fixed with other biophysical parameters, a study on the particle-cell interaction for the different non-specific interaction parameter is performed. To induce the firm adhesion, short ligand-receptor should be engaged. Also, it is shown that the rational design of ligand-receptor interaction, including receptor number, specific interaction parameter, kinds of ligand-receptor, etc., should be considered.

초음속 이중 동축 제트유동에서 발생하는 충격파 구조에 관한 연구 (Study of the Shock Structure of Supersonic, Dual, Coaxial, Jets)

  • The shock structure of supersonic, dual, coaxial jet is experimentally investigated. Eight different kinds of coaxial, dual nozzles are employed to observe the major features of the near field shock structure of the supersonic, coaxial, dual jets. Four convergent-divergent supersonic nozzles having the Mach number of 2.0 and 3.0, and are used to compare the coaxial jet flows discharging from two sonic nozzles. The primary pressure ratio is changed in the range between 4.0 and 10.0 and the assistant jet pressure ratio from 1.0 to 4.0. The results obtained show that the impinging angle, nozzle geometry and pressure ratio significantly affect the near field shock structure, Mach disk location and Mach disk diameter. The annular shock system is found depending the assistant and primary jet pressure ratios.

  • Reinforced dual concrete beam (RDC beam) is the reformed system that improves the overall structural properties of beam by partially applying high performance steel fiber reinforced concrete (HPSFRC) in the lower tension part of conventional reinforced concrete beam (RC beam). Fatigue test was done to prove the structural superiority of RDC beam. As a result of fatigue test, the deflection of RDC beam was decreased obviously and the slope of number of cycle-deflection relation curve of RDC beam was increased gently in comparison with RC beam.

  • 스크램제트 추진기술에 대한 최근 개발동향과 주요기술을 분석하였다. 스크램제트엔진은 지난 10여년간 급속한 기술 발전으로 지상시험에서 비행시험 단계에 접어들고 있으며, 수년 내 실용시험을 목표로 활발하게 연구개발 중이다. 광범위한 비행 마하수를 만족하는 이중연소램제트와 이중모드램제트 형태의 엔진은 각각 군용과 민수용으로 개발되고 있으며, 복합엔진은 차세대 우주발사체의 대안으로 개발되고 있다. 엔진 작동 특성의 미케니즘에 대한 정확한 이해와 이에 상응되는 기술, 흡열연료 및 CSiC 복합재료를 사용한 내열 문제 해결, 가변 흡입구와 노즐을 이용한 안정된 추진력 구현을 목전에 두고 있다.
