The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has been estimating the potential of insects as human food and animal feed for convincing food security since 2010. On account of this reason, Tenebrio molitor larvae have been gaining considerable attention as an alternative protein source for various foods. However, consumers do not prefer them because of their disgusting appearance. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a method that improve their appearance as to lead to T. molitor larvae consumption. In this study, T. molitor larvae which is prepared for optimally sampling conditions (shade drying, 30 min boiling after hot air drying, 30 min steaming after hot air drying), were cultured with Cordyceps militaris mycelia, and measured growth and density of mycelial. Also analyzed the cordycepin and adenosine content compared with commercial C. militaris. As a result, T. molitor larvae cultivated with C. militaris mycelia showed the highest cordycepin content (13.75 mg/g) was observed in optimal sampling conditions (shade drying). Therefore, we report that the methods which T. molitor larvae cultivated with C. militaris mycelia not only improve their appearance but also increase cordycepin content, which can be contributed to lead T. molitor larvae consumption.
In this study, WC-l7wt% Co composite powder for thermal spray was fabricated by spray drying method. The agglomerated composite powder had spheroidal morphology and the particle size distribution was 20~60${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. WC and Co were distributed homogeneously. However, the strength of the spray-dried agglomerate was low due to the pores within the agglomerate. Therefore, the spray-dried agglomerate was broken down during HVOF thermal spray and the microstructure was inhomogeneous with many pores within the coating layer. And the decomposition of WC to W and $W_{6}$$C_{2.54}$ was accelerated. The strength and flowability of the agglomerate were greatly improved by sintering heat treatment(110$0^{\circ}C$, 1 hour, hi atmosphere), and then the coating layer showed dense and homogeneous microstructure with well-developed splats. The hardness of the coating layer was H $v_{300}$ = 1072.2.2.

The purpose of this study is to investigate quality of recycled fine aggregate manufactured by drying manufacturing system which is the manufacture method of high quality recycled fine aggregate, and to analyze on the fresh, hardened and durability properties of recycled concrete using it. Therefore it is to present the fundamental data for structural application of recycled concrete. The results of this study are as follows; Quality of recycled fine aggregate by drying manufacturing system is improved, and compressive and tensile strength of recycled concrete using high quality recycled fine aggregate are similar to those of normal concrete. But, durability such as carbonation, salt damage and dry shrinkage show decreased somewhat.
Pinus $rigida{\times}taeda$ and Liriodendron tulipifira have been planted in this country for about 20 years. They are known as a relatively 13st-grown and useful species. The physical properties such as green moisture contents, specific gravities and dimensional shrinkages were examined with natively grown timbers. The kiln-dry schedules were developed with 30m thick boards by using an oven-fast-drying method. In both species the green MC's of sapwoods were higher than those of heartwoods, but their discrepancies were small. The green specific gravities of Pinus $rigida{\times}taeda$ and Liriodendron tulipifera were 0.48 and 0.41~O.42, respectively. The developed kiln-dry schedules were proven to minimize drying defects for the hoards of 30mm thickness and various width.
Ultrafine TiC-15%Co powders were synthesized by a thermochemical process, including spray drying, calcination, and carbothermal reaction. Ti-Co oxide powders were prepared by spray drying of aqueous solution of titanium chloride and $Ti(OH)_2$ slurry, both containing cobalt nitrate, fellowed by calcination. The oxide powders were mixed with carbon powder to reduce and carburize at 1100~125$0^{\circ}C$ under argon or hydrogen atmosphere. Ultrafine TiC particles were formed by carbothermal reaction at 1200~125$0^{\circ}C$, which is significantly lower than the formation temperature (~1$700^{\circ}C$) of TiC particles prepared by conventional method. The oxygen content of TiC-15%Co powder synthesized under hydrogen atmosphere was lower than that synthesized under argon, suggesting that hydrogen accelerates the reduction rate of Ti-Co oxides. The size of TiC-15%Co powder was evaluated by FE-SEM and TEM and Identified to be smaller than 300 nm.
A new method to evaluate erosion of biodegradable polymer, polyanhydrides, was developed. The polymer devices were prepared with the melt-casting method and weight loss was accurately measured after agitating the devices in buffers (pH 1-9), and removing the device at selected time intervals and freeze-drying the device. The erosion rate was estimated from the plot of the weight loss(%) of device as a function of time. The freeze-drying technique used in this study is particularly useful for estimating the erosion rate of biodegradable polymer.
Post-harvest treatment for barley production requires many steps including drying, cleaning, and packing, and these steps be needed many labor input. Rice processing complex (RPC) is useful for post harvest management system in rice production. However, it is rare to be used for barley production. This study was conducted to explore the variations of quality and labor saving between conventional method and bulk-management system in post-harvest using RPC. The sorting rate was not different between manual method and bulk management. The hardness of non-polished grain was ranged 10,175-10,329 g/$3.14mm^2$, and that for non-polished grain was higher than that for polished grain, but there was not different between drying method. There was not be showed the hunter's value such as L, a and b according to drying method. Cooking characters such as water absorption ratio, swelling ratio, and water soluble extracts by circulated or continued dryer was higher than manual drying using solar heat. Labor input per ha for each cultivation process in bulk-management of barley using rice processing complex was 21 hours, compared to 46 hr/ha in the conventional method, labor input was greatly saved by up to 54.3% in the post-harvest bulk management system.
We investigated the effects of manufacturing method on the quality of beef jerky using electron micrography. Six types of beef jerky were prepared by the addition of sugar (A), licorice (B), one of three kinds of spice extract (clove: C, fennel fruit: D, and Chungyang green pepper extract: E), or a mixture of all spice extracts (F). Microstructural changes in beef jerky during preparation by drying, with respect to drying method and the nature of the added spice extract, were observed by scanning electron micrography (SEM) and transmission electron micrography (TEM). The latter technique showed that the microstructure of fresh meat showed actin and myosin in myofibril lines, and also mitochondria and inner membranes. Beef muscle structure was broken at many myofibril lines and decomposition of inner membrane material was evident after seasoning. SEM of air-blast dried beef jerky with added medicinal herb extracts showed both large spaces and regular myofibrils, whereas hot air-dried beef jerky had no spaces and the muscle myofibrils were still evident. After review of all available micrographs from SEM and TEM, we concluded that use of medicinal herb extracts could be helpful in preserving the muscle myofibril structure during drying, and the air-blast drying method is recommended to optimize the textural quality characteristics of beef jerky.

This paper intended to evaluate the applicability of drying shrinkage reducing superplasticizer (DSRA) by investigating physical properties of concrete using DSRA, The application of flowing concrete method exhibited a less loss of slump and air content with time than those of conventional concrete and had small bleeding. Flowing concrete had larger compressive strength than base and conventional concrete by as much as $3\~5\%$. It also had less drying shrinkage by as much as $20\%$ compared with conventional concrete. This is due to the coupled effect of reduced water content and aqueous type expansive admixture. On the other hand, neutralization depth of flowing concrete showed greater than conventional concrete.

This study is investigated the various properties and drying shrinkage of concrete according to water content under the condition proper fluidity is adjusted, in order to suggest the method for reduction of crack by drying shrinkage. According to the results, though water content varies, slump and air content are satisfied to the planed values, but shear slump and separation happen at water content of 120 and 140kg/$m^3$ due to the overuse of superplasticizer(SP). As water content is diminished, setting time is retarded by an increase of the using amount of SP, and compressive and tensile strength increase in the range of 160-180kg/㎥ of water content, but decrease significantly at 120 and 140kg/$m^3$. Length change by drying shrinkage decrease with a decrease of water content. Therefore, considering not only drying shrinkage but also fluidity, setting time and strength, it proves that the most appropriate water content of concrete is 160kg/$m^3$ in the condition of this experiment.
