  • The Eco-2 Project presents a win-win strategy for the environment and for the economy (ECO-2 is an abbreviation of Ecology and Economy), The project was initiated by the Korean Ministry of the Environment to promote the development of an environmental industry technology as a means of driving national development in this sector. Our project work belongs to the category of integrated environment management technology, and is described as a development and utilization of risk assessment and analysis system for integrated environmental management in municipal and industrial areas. The goal of our project is to develop available system software in health and ecological risk assessment and to offer it as Decision Support System (DSS) to aid the effective management of environmental risk in municipal and industrial areas in Korea.

  • As information and communication technology advances driving the rapid evolution of e-commerce and e-business becomes on effective marketing means for both business and institutions, the industry deals with these changes and has a profound, positive impact on production and operations management. But the construction industry falls behind compared with other industries in productivity, informationalization, automatization and globalization. Especially even though the informationalization is inevitable in any developing society, a number of construction industries can hardly cope with it properly. As the construction industry gets informationalized and advanced, the introduction of PMIS (Project Management Information System) is making progress actively for the effective construction project control and productivity improvement in construction. With the government officials' political promotion and the rising desire for construction informationalization of enterprises, many are attempting to develop integrated systems or to replace a previous system with a more advanced alternative. Construction Industry, however, has the peculiar properties that the period for the completion of construction is limited and on top of that, most of its data processing systems are seen as being an early stage in the design of management information systems. As a result, there are extremely few applications in the construction industry. In this paper, we propose the PMIS system based on new model 4CM that improves on previous models.

  • With the development of the society, pure electric vehicles will be surely important of the future. Electric vehicle requires various technology like motor driving, battery management, operational efficiencies and so on. Battery management is indeed the most important to enhance battery's performance and life. This paper has deeply discussed and studied on the lithium-polymer battery management system of pure electric vehicle. First of all we have analyzed the characteristic of the lithium-polymer batteries and the factors influenced on the state of charge. Then a logical SOC measuring method has been raised, which is the combination of open circuit voltage and Ah integration. The next we will introduce the design of battery management system, the battery management system performs many functions, such as inspecting the whole process, when it's running cell equalization protecting and diagnosing the battery, estimating the state of charge. The module design style including microcontroller, data aquisition module, charging control module and serial communication module. To arrive at conclusions, the battery management system which this paper has introduced is reliable and economical.

  • As the number of electric vehicles (EVs) in Jejudo Island increases, the secondary use of EV batteries is becoming increasingly mandatory not only in reducing greenhouse gas emissions but also in promoting resource conservation. For the secondary use of EV batteries, their capacity and performance at the end of automotive service should be evaluated properly. In this study, the battery state information from the on-board diagnostics or OBD2 port was acquired in real time while driving three distinct routes in Jejudo Island, and then the battery operating characteristics were assessed with the driving routes. The route with higher altitude led to higher current output, i.e., higher C-rate, which would reportedly deteriorate state of health (SOH) faster. In addition, the SOH obtained from the battery management system (BMS) of a 2017 Kia Soul EV with a mileage of 55,000 km was 100.2%, which was unexpectedly high. This finding was confirmed by the SOH estimation based on the ratio of the current integral to the change in state of charge. The SOH larger than 100% can be attributed to the rated capacity that was lower than the nominal capacity in EV application. Therefore, considering the driving environment and understanding the SOH estimation process will be beneficial and necessary in evaluating the capacity and performance of retired batteries for post-vehicle applications.

  • Even though automakers have actively been conducting studies on autonomous navigation thanks to the development and application of wireless Internet technology, the traffic accident has been kept unsolved. The causes of the accident are drowsy driving, a mistake of a driver, environmental factors, and a wrong road structure; Driving manner and characteristics of a driver among the causes are significantly influential for the accident. In this paper, a study to measure characteristics of zigzag driving that can be seen before an occurrence of an accident regarding traffic accidents that can be incurred while driving manually or autonomously was conducted. While existing studies measured zigzag driving based on characteristics of the change of lateral angular velocity by imaging techniques or driving manner on the first and second lane, this study proceeded to measure zigzag driving by setting a lateral moving distance and a critical value range by utilizing the value of a sensor.

  • In order to maximize the usable capacity of a BMS (battery management system) that uses several battery cells connected in series, a cell balancing technique that equips each cell with the same voltage is needed. In the active cell balancing circuit using a multi-winding transformer, a balancing circuit that transfers energy directly to the cell (cell-to-cell) is composed of a PMOS switch and a gate driving chip for driving the NMOS switch. The TLP2748 photocoupler and the TLP2745 photocoupler are required, resulting in increased cost and reduced integration. In this paper, instead of driving PMOS and NMOS switching devices by using photocoupler, we proposed 70V BCD process based PMOS gate driving circuit, NMOS gate driving circuit, PMOS gate driving circuit and NMOS gate driving circuit with improved switching time. ${\Delta}t$ of the PMOS gate drive switch with improved switching time was 8.9 ns and ${\Delta}t$ of the NMOS gate drive switch was 9.9 ns.

A Design of PC Power-Saving System Security Using IP Address Restriction (IP 주소 제한을 이용한 PC 절전 시스템 보안 설계)

  • Power-saving PC software enables the inexpensive power control, but the installation of the power-saving software in all computers in the organization is not an easy task. Computer users in the organization are usually not cooperative as they do not think the power-saving cost is directly related to themselves. The PC power-saving system provides advantage to driving active participation in which users installs the power saving software by restricting IP address through the power management server. However, the problem with this approach is the security vulnerability to IP spoofing attacks, therefore we need to solve the problem that disrupt the entire network system rather than saving electric power. This paper proposes the security authentication system that can implement the efficiency saving power by providing high security for the members' computer system of the public institutions based on the PC power-saving system. Also, by analyzing it in comparison with other method, it is possible to check that the prospects of safety and efficiency are strengthened.

  • An autonomic system management technology is being developed for self-managing during deployment and on an on-going basis for a production environment so that the system may be deployed and managed in production with minimal human intervention. As networks and distributed systems grow and change, system deployment failures, hardware and software issues, and human error can increasingly hamper the performance and capacity of the components in an IT system, driving up overall costs-even as technology component costs continue to decline. Known as the only solution for an on demand IT environment, the architecture of the autonomic system management will be shown and also the corresponding standards on the way will be introduced in this paper.

  • As 4th industrial revolution era has come, autonomous driving vehiecle gets its attention for commercialization and development and thus its impact on society. To this end, several countries such as US, England and Germany are preparing their own legal systems to come up with commercialization of autonomous driving vehiecle. In this country, Korea is also developing autonomous driving vehiecle and looking forward its commercialization yet the legal system of Korea lacks of laws, regulations, rules, guidelines and so on. Hence, it is our intention to look into Korean legal system providing the analysis of current Korean legal system in detail. This paper also provides further directions to have balance between commercialization success and risk management in this country and, as a result creates a small step toward 4th industrial revolution society.

  • In large-area LCD displays, we have developed two new control technologies for high-power LED backlight. The Novel control technology called scanning control and local gray control. In addition, a conceptual display system power management was developed. We have implemented high power-LED module driving system which can achieve power saving and cost down. Finally, we designed LED light-bar module of the side type as a backlight source. It not only achieved light & thin but also reduced the quantity of LEDs.
