  • Hybrid RMU is a kind of power circuit breaker and protects electric devices from over-current. In this paper we built a dynamic model of RMU driving mechanism using ADAMS and performed a optimal design of several design parameters. Finally we developed a prototype of RMU driving mechanism through results of analysis and confirmed it to satisfy design requisitions.

  • In this paper, 7-segment was implemented using AC powder EL. ZnS:Cu and BaTiO3 was used as a phosphor and dielectric respectively. The preparation of phosphor and dielectric layer was performed with screen printing. The implemented system of 7-segment was divided as following; EL display, driving circuit, software for driving. The properties of fabricated devices was measured with EL spectrum and brightness.

  • This paper presents a new sort of multilayer piezoelectric ceramic transformer for switching regulation power supplies. This piezoelectric transformer operate in the second thickness resonant vibration mode. Accordingly its resonant frequency is higher than 1 NHz, Because output power is low if input and output part of transformer are consisted of single layer, this research suggests a new method, which is consisted of both input and output part of transformer have 2-layered piezoelectric ceramics, The size of transformer is 20 mm in width and length, and 1.4 mm in thickness, respectively, To design a high efficient switching circuit of the transformer, internal circuit parameters were measured and then weve calculated a parameter of inductor nd capacitor to design a driving circuit, Weve used a MISFET and its driver circuit modified a calp oscillator circuit as the primary switching circuit.

안정적인 정전류 구동 방식의 파이로 스퀴브 회로 설계 (Pyro Squib Circuit Design with Stable Constant Current Driving Method)

  • We proposed a design method for constant current pyro squib circuit. The current method using N MOSFET for the stability problem has a weakness of the current change, requiring a new design. This paper identified the problem with conventional squib circuit where the current is reduced by 25 % when maximum resistance is 3 ohms. Thus, we proposed a stable constant current driving circuit using P MOSFET and PNP BJT. We confirmed stable constant circuit operation through simulations and measurements of the proposed circuit design where the current did not change until the resistance reached 3 ohms.

  • A silicon based OELD driving circuit that has a new type of column driving method is proposed to reduce the driving circuit area. In comparison with the conventional method, latches in each column are removed and one DAC (digital-to-analog converter) drives several column lines. To make the DAC operate during a specific period for the low power consumption, a simple DESG (DAC Enable Signal Generator) circuit was devised and confirmed by the simulation.

  • A new driving circuit for scan electrode in AC PDP has been developed. The number of scan driver switches can be reduced to one half of the conventional circuit. Capacitance between the electrodes is utilized. Experiments and analysis of the new structure has been carried out to confirm its robustness.

  • PDP TV의 전력 효율을 향상시키기 위해서는 PDP의 구동과정에서 발생하게 되는 불필요한 전력소모와 AC 입력으로부터 원하는 DC를 얻기 위한 과정 중에 발생하는 전력 소모를 최소화하여야 한다. 일반적인 PDP 구동을 위한 입력 전원단은 2단 구조의 역률 보상형 컨버터를 채용하고 있으며, PDP 구동시 전력소모가 가장 큰 서스테인 드라이버와 리셋 회로의 구동전원을 공급하기 위한 별도의 DC-to-DC 컨버터를 필요로 한다. 그러나 이러한 회로의 구현은 저가의 PDP를 요구하는 시장 상황에 유연하게 대처하는데 많은 어려움을 준다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 최소의 전력 변환단계를 가지도록 서스테인과 리셋 회로의 전원 공급이 가능한 1단방식의 역률보상형 AC-to-DC 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 1단방식의 입력전원부 구성을 통해 전력 변환단을 최소화하여 전력 변환 중에 발생하는 손실을 최소화하며, PDP 서스테인/리셋 드라이버의 구동전압을 직접 공급하는 형태로 구성하여 시스템 부피의 감소, 원가 절감을 이룰 수 있다.

자계 공진 방식의 무선전력전송 장치를 이용한 교류 전력 직접 인가에 의한 LED 조명기기 효율에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Efficiency of LED Lighting Applied by Direct AC Power Using Magnetic Resonance Wireless Power Transfer System)

  • In this paper, wireless power transfer system using the magnetic resonance was designed and applied to LED lighting for implementation of wireless lighting. This lighting was made by the converted DC driving type and the direct AC driving type. In the former, transferred AC power was rectified into DC and regulated to the specified voltage value, which leads to produce the loss at the rectifying and regulating circuit. In the latter, wireless-transferred AC power was directly applied to LED, which get rid of the loss derived from the additional circuit. For the efficiency-comparison between the former and the latter, the power at each stage was measured when the same optical output radiated from LED lighting part. The result revealed that the direct AC driving type had 18% higher efficiency than the DC driving type and confirmed that LED lighting using magnetic resonance wireless power transfer system can be efficient by direct AC power supply. And the direct AC driving type had the simple circuit structure and the simple LED lighting formation, so this can leads to various application.

  • Driving the electrodeless fluorescent lamp, the high ac voltage with high frequency is required. The linear power amplifier has been widely used as a driving circuit of electrodeless fluorescent lamp. However, the low efficiency of the power amplifier causes the driving circuit to be replaced by a PWM switching inverter. In order to use a PWM switching inverter as the driving circuit of an electrodeless fluorescent lamp, the high switching frequency is required. But due to the switching loss at switches of the inverter, the limitation of high switching frequency appears in the inverter. One solution to this limitation is to reduce the switching loss by using the zero voltage switching technique. In this paper, zero voltage switching resonant inverter for driving an electrodeless fluorescent lamp is discussed. The results of analysis about the inverter are presented and the equations for design are established. And the validity of the analyzed results are verified through the experiment.

  • The full bridge converter have been used for high power system that is needed to switch the big current. So, EMI and stability problem is occurred. The Soft switching method is the solution to solve the above problem, But implementation of soft switching(ZVS: Zero Voltage Switching) is so complicate and expensive because of the DSP MCU and shift circuit. In this paper, we introduce the technical method for driving circuit of ZVS full bridge converter with 1st order delay circuit and logic elements. The realization of this method is so simple and cheap. The effectiveness of the proposed circuit is verified by experimental results.
