비정상 상태 운전 시 정면충돌에서의 상해 분석 (Analysis of Driver Injuries Caused by Frontal Impact during Abnormal Driver Position)

  • Recently, the driver can be assisted by the advanced active safety devices such as ADAS from road traffic risks. With this system, driver and passenger may freed from can driving tasks or kept eyes on forward direction while on the road. Help from adoptive cruise control, auto parking and newly develped automated driving vehicles technologies, the driver positions will vary significantly from the current standard driver position during the travel time. On this hypothesis, the objective of this study is analyze the behavior and injuries of drivers in the event of frontal impact under these abnormal driver position. Based on the KNCAP frontal impact testing method, this simulation matrix was set-up with dummies of 5 th tile female Hybrid III dummy and 50 th tile male Hybrid III dummy. The small sedan type passenger car was modeled in this simulation. The series of simulation was performed to compare the injuries and behaviour of each dummy, varying the seating status and seat position of each dummy.

외부조명 변화에 강인한 운전자 졸음 감지 시스템 (System for Detecting Driver's Drowsiness Robust Variations of External Illumination)

  • In this study, a system is proposed for analyzing whether driver's eyes are open or closed on the basis of images to determine driver's drowsiness. The proposed system converts eye areas detected by a camera to a color space area to effectively detect eyes in a dark situation, for example, tunnels, and a bright situation due to a backlight. In addition, the system used a thickness distribution of a detected eye area as a feature value to analyze whether eyes are open or closed through the Support Vector Machine(SVM), representing 90.09% of accuracy. In the experiment for the images of driver wearing glasses, 83.83% of accuracy was obtained. In addition, in a comparative experiment with the existing PCA method by using Eigen-eye and Pupil Measuring System the detection rate is shown improved. After the experiment, driver's drowsiness was identified accurately by using the method of summing up the state of driver's eyes open and closes over time and the method of detecting driver's eyes that continue to be closed to examine drowsy driving.

전동식 조향 장치의 성능 평가를 위한 신경 근육계 기반 운전자 모델 개발 (Development of Human Driver Model based on Neuromuscular System for Evaluation of Electric Power Steering System)

  • This paper presents a lateral driver model with neuromuscular system to evaluate the performance of electric power steering (EPS). Output of most previously developed driver models is steering angle. However, in order to evaluate EPS system, driver model which results in steering torque output is needed. The proposed lateral driver model mainly consists of 2 parts: desired steering angle calculation and conversion of steering angle into steering torque. Desired steering angle calculation part results in steering angle to track desired yaw rate for path tracking. Conversion of steering angle into torque is consideration with neuromuscular system. The proposed driver model is investigated via actual driving data. Compared to other algorithms, the proposed algorithm shows similar pattern of steering angle with human driver. The proposed driver can be utilized to efficiently evaluate EPS system in simulation level.

운전자 설문을 통한 자동차 운전자의 실수 확률 추정 (Estimation of Car Driver Error Probabilities Through Driver Questionnaire)

  • Car crashes are the leading cause of death for persons of every age. Specially, human-related factor has been known to be the primary causal factor of such crashes than vehicle-and environmental-related factors. There are various studies to analyze driver's behavior and characteristics in driving for reducing the car crashes in many areas of car engineering, psychology, human factor, etc. However, there are almost no studies which analyze mainly the human errors in driving and estimate their probabilities in terms of human reliability analysis. This study estimates the probability of human error in driving, i.e. driver error probability. First, fifty driver errors are investigated through DBQ (Driver Behavior Questionnaire) revision and the error likelihoods in driving are collected which are judged by skillful drivers using revised DBQ. Next, these likelihoods are converted into driver error probabilities using the results that verbal probabilistic expressions are changed into quantitative probabilities. Using these probabilities we can improve the warning effects on drivers by indicating their driving error likelihoods quantitatively. We can also expect the reduction effects of car accident through controlling especially dangerous error groups which have higher probabilities. Like these, the results of this study can be used as the primary materials of safety education on drivers.

인터페이스 회로와 디바이스 드라이버 통합 자동생성 시스템 설계 (Design of an Integrated Interface Circuit and Device Driver Generation System)

  • 설계된 HW IP를 응용수준에서 제어하기 위해 OS상에서의 디바이스 드라이버가 요구된다. 디바이스 드라이버의 개발은 하드웨어와 OS에 대해 시스템 개발자의 정확한 이해가 필요하며 하드웨어 개발 기간과 비용의 많은 부분을 차지한다. 본 논문에서는 OS정보, 하드웨어 특징정보를 이용하여 OS에 따른 디바이스 드라이버를 인터페이스 회로와 함께 자동 생성하는 시스템의 구축에 대해 제시한다. 제안한 시스템에서는 효율적인 디바이스 드라이버 자동생성을 위해 디바이스 드라이버의 기본골격과 함수 모듈 코드, 헤더파일 테이블 등을 라이브러리로 구축하여 입력 데이터에 따라 선택되어 디바이스 드라이버가 자동생성 되도록 하였다. 제안된 방법으로 ARM922T 코어에 삼성 3.5인치 TFT-LCD를 장착하여 커널버전 ARM-Linux 2.4.19를 탑재한 후 디바이스 드라이버를 자동 생성하여 커널에 등록한 뒤 하드웨어에 write 연산을 실행하는데 걸린 시간을 비교한 결과 매뉴얼로 설계한 디바이스 드라이버에 비해 1.12%의 감소를 보였다. 커널 컴파일 후의 코드 사이즈는 0.17%의 증가를 보였다. 생성된 디바이스 드라이버는 응용프로그램 레벨에서 하드웨어를 제어할 때 발생하는 지연시간을 고려하면 실제 성능의 차이가 없음을 보인다. 본 논문에서 제안한 시스템을 사용하여 시스템 개발기간을 단축할 수 있다.

플라이백 컨버터를 이용한 조명용 LED Driver의 모듈화 연구 (A Study on the Modularization of LED Driver for Illumination Using a Fly-Back Converter)

  • 본 논문에서는 조명용 LED 구동 장치를 위한 새로운 방식의 LED 구동 모듈화 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 LED 구동 회로는 플라이백 컨버터를 이용하여 교류 입력 전원의 핫 접지와 LED 구동부의 콜드 접지를 절연한다. LED 전류 제어를 용이하게 하기위해 플라이백 컨버터를 동특성이 뛰어난 불연속 모드로 동작시키고, KIA2431을 이용하여 귀환 루프 제어를 한 후, 그에 대한 특성을 파악한다. 제안된 LED 구동 모듈은 폭넓은 교류 전원 입력 범위와 PWM 제어 IC를 직접 제어하여 버스트 디밍을 구현하고 넓은 범위의 LED 밝기 조절이 가능하게 하였다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 LED 구동 모듈에 대한 동작 원리를 설명하고 LED 구동 모듈을 실제로 구현 및 적용하여 제안된 구동 모듈의 유용성을 입증하였다. 또한, 소형화와 모듈화 된 LED 구동 모듈을 병렬로 연결한 다 채널 LED 구동 장치를 제안하고 그 타당성을 검증하였다.

Effect of Co-Driver on Job Content and Depression of Truck Drivers

  • Background: Since the presence of a co-driver can be considered as a companion, partner, or friend for a driver through eliminating driver's loneliness, it plays a significant role in health and safety of drivers. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of co-drivers on depression and occupational stress on male truck drivers. Methods: This study was an interventional case-control study. Seventy truck drivers were selected and divided into two groups: case (33 truck drivers with co-drivers) and control (37 truck drivers without codrivers). Two Goldberg depression inventories (for evaluating driver's depression) and the Karasek job content questionnaire (for evaluating driver's job stress) were used to collect data which were completed by interview. Results: The results showed that job content values for the case group were higher in all dimensions except job nature. The comparison of the percentages showed significant difference between two groups. Depression rate in drivers with co-driver is truly less than depression rate in drivers without co-driver. There was significant positive relationship between dimensions of job content and depression rate. Conclusion: According to the results of this study, it can be claimed that a co-driver decreases stress and loneliness of drivers, as well as increases work performance and job satisfaction, and, in turn, leads to a decrease in job-related depression.

하이브리드 게이트 드라이버를 위한 회로 디자인 방법과 성능 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Circuit Design Methodology and Performance Evaluation for Hybrid Gate Driver)

  • 과거 주로 게임과 동영상 재생에 있어 리얼함을 극대화하기 위해 사용되었던 HMD(Head Mount Display)의 수요가 증가하고, 그 활용 범위가 교육과 훈련 등으로 확대되면서, 기존 HMD의 성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 방안에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 HMD의 각 화소 회로에 제어 신호를 보내는 gate driver의 성능을 향상시키기 위해 CNT를 포함한 트랜지스터를 활용하는 방법에 대해 논하고자 한다. 기존 gate driver의 버퍼부를 구성하는 트랜지스터를 CNT를 포함한 트랜지스터로 교체하는 회로 설계 방법을 제안하고, 그 성능을 회로 시뮬레이션을 통해 기존 트랜지스터로만 구성된 gate driver의 성능과 비교해 보고자 한다. 시뮬레이션 결과, gate driver에 CNT를 포함할 경우 12.5 GHz의 속도로 기존 gate driver 대비 약 0.3V 증가된 출력 전압(1.1V)을 얻을 수 있었으며, 최대 20배의 gate width를 줄일 수 있었다.

  • Vehicle steering system determines the direction of a vehicle. A manual steering system consists of mechanical connections between the steering wheel and tires. Recent power steering system adds an actuator to help a driver to steer easily at low speed. However, at front collision, the driver can be injured by steering shaft and the power steering pump decreases the engine power. To solve these problems, electronic power steering system which connects the steering wheel and tires with electronic connection is proposed, that has advantages such as decrease of engine load and increase of driver safety reactive. Since the ratio between driver's steering torque and steering torque of tires can be controlled freely, the torque which is delivered from the road to the driver through tires and steering wheel can be reshaped to make the driver feel comfortable. In this paper, the ratio of delivering steering torque and the magnitude of force to be delivered from road to driver has been controlled using fuzzy controller, and it's effectiveness has been shown through simulation results.

A MOSFET's Driver Applied to High-frequency Switching with Wide Range of Duty Cycles

  • A MOSFET's gate driver based on magnetic coupling is investigated. The gate driver can meet the demands in applications for wide range of duty cycles and high frequency. Fully galvanic isolation can be realized, and no auxiliary supply is needed. The driver is insensitive to the leakage inductor of the isolated transformer. No gate resistor is needed to damp the oscillation, and thus the peak output current of the gate driver can be improved. Design of the driving transformer can also be made more flexible, which helps to improve the isolation voltage between the power stage and the control electronics, and aids to enhance the electromagnetic compatibility. The driver's operation principle is analyzed, and the design method for its key parameters is presented. The performance analysis is validated via experiment. The disadvantages of the traditional magnetic coupling and optical coupling have been conquered through the investigated circuit.
