박판의 재인발 가공 에서의 한계인발비 및 성형하중 의 예측 에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Prediction of Limit Drawing Ratio And Forming Load in Redrawing of Sheet Metal)

  • The study is concerned with the analysis of sheet metal for the prediction of limit drawing ratio and forming load. The direct redrawing process is analyzed by using an equilibrium approach and strain increment theory both for non-workhardening material and for workhardening material. Computations are carried out numerically for the workhardening case. Limit drawing ratios are predicted for some chosen variables. The forming loads are also computed with respect to punch travel. Then the predicted loads are compared with the experimental results. For ordinary lubricated conditions, the comparison shows reasonable agreement between the theory and experimental observation. It is also shown that limit drawing ration can be increased by using a greater die angle and proper lubrication significantly reduces the punch load. Finally numerical results show that material of greater R-value and strain-hardening exponent(n)is better for direst redrawing of sheet metal.

  • An inverse finite element approach is employed for more capability to design the optimum blank shape from the desired final shape with small amount of computation time and effort. For multi-stage deep-drawing processes with large aspect ratio, numerical analysis is extremely difficult to carry out due to its complexities and convergence problem. as well as tremendous computation time. In this paper, multi-stage finite element inverse analysis is applied to multi-stage rectangular cup drawing processes to calculate intermediate blank shapes and strain distributions in each stages. Deformation history of the previous stage is considered in the computation. Finite element patches are used to describe arbitrary intermediate sliding constraint surfaces.

  • The cowl cross bar of an automobile is a frame component that is installed inside the cockpit module to provide a guide surface, to which functional components for electricity and air condition are attached. In the recent years, the geometries of cowl cross bars are getting more complex in order to meet the demands of a wide variety of embedded functional components and the reduced weight of frame parts with enhanced mechanical and noise/vibration characteristics. There for, welding processes between tubes with different diameters are widely conducted while the welded parts are experiencing various problems such as undermined appearance, low production efficiency and poor mechanical characteristics. Therefore, this paper seeks to develop an one-piece forming process which eliminate welding process for the cowl cross bar by applying the tube drawing process. However, it was predicted that a conventional tube drawing can not be applied directly to the current part since the area reduction ratio of the drawing process reaches 51.7% which exceeds the general limiting value. Therefore, in this study, a combined drawing process which adds a compressive force to a tensile force of the conventional drawing process was proposed and 2-stage drawing process was designed by using CAE analyses. In addition, drawing tryouts were carried out by using the manufactured combined drawing machine in order to verify the designed process.

사각용기 성형시 주름의 거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Behavior of Wrinkles in Square Cup Drawing)

  • The wrinkling in the flange and wall of a part is a predominent failure mode in stamping of sheet metal parts. In many cases this wrinkling may be eliminated by appropriate control of the blank holding force(BHF), but BHF affects the draw depth. Although the wrinkles of flange have been made in the incipient stage of drawing, if the height of wrinkles is maintained under a prescribed limit by decrease or extinction of wrinkles in the course of drawing, small BHP can be allowed so that the depth of drawing could be increased. Authors research the variation of the wrinkles in flange in the course of square cup drawing by using aluminium A1015 and aluminium alloy A5052.

수중 일축신장 플리비닐알콜 필름의 연신과 파단에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Drawing and Rupture of Uniaxial Stretched Polyvinylalcohol Film in Water)

  • Poly (vinyl alcohol) films, which .were annealed at various different annealing conditions, were carried out by uniaxial stretching them with free width in water and were investigated drawing behaviours and rupture phenomena. l) After dipping the specimen into the water, it took about 15 min. for the specimen's swelling to approach to equilibrium. 2) When the film annealed at $180^{\circ}C$ for 10 min. was drawn at $20^{\circ}C$. it was shown very toughness. 3) By means of birefringence measurements, the total molecular orientation of the annealed films increased until the draw ratio of 4, but drawing them above the draw ratio of 5, that of untreated films increased. 4) In the case of the mechanical properties of the drawn films. the annealed films tended to good trend for the draw ratios between 1 and 4. but drawing them above the draw ratio of 5. the untreated films tended to good trend for them.

극소형 원통컵의 드로잉성과 품질에 미치는 블랭크 홀딩력과 블랭크 직경의 영향 (Influence of Blankholding Force and Blank Diameter on the Drawability and Quality of Very Small Cylindrical Cups)

  • Micro forming is an appropriate process to manufacture very small metal parts which can be employed in the field of electronic devices or electrically controlled mechanical systems. The purpose of the current study was to investigate the influences of both blankholding force and blank diameter for the deep drawing of very small cups. It is essential to control the blankholding force because improper force can result in defects such as wrinkles in the flange or cracks in the corner of the drawn cups. In the current study blankholding force was controlled by springs connected to the blankholder of a press die. Exchangeable bushing dies with various die-corner radii were also used. To obtain the limit drawing ratio for each working condition several sizes of circular specimens were prepared using blanking tools. Beryllium copper(C1720) alloy sheet of $50{\mu}m$ thickness was chosen for the experiments. The maximum limit drawing ratio of 2.1 was achieved experimentally for the conditions of the blankholder force(BHF)=5.3kgf and Rd=0.3mm. Both thickness and hardness along the central section of drawn cups were measured and compared for different drawing conditions. It was found that the deviation of measured data in the thickness and hardness distribution increases with increasing blankholder force and blank diameter.

  • Warm, forming technique which is one of the new forming technologies to improve formability of sheet metal is applied to the cylindrical cup drawing of stainless-aluminum. clad sheets. In experiments the temperature of die and blank holder is varied from room temperature to 18$0^{\circ}C$, while the punch is cooled by circulation of coolant to increase the fracture strength of workpiece on the punch corner area. Test materials chosen for experiments are STS304-A1050-STS304, STS304-A1050-STS430 clad sheets and A1050-0 aluminum sheet. Teflon film as a lubricant is used on both sides of a workpiece. The limit drawing ratio as well as quality of drawn cups(distribution of thickness and hardness)are investigated and validity of warm drawing process is also discussed.

연신에 따른 나일론 56 섬유의 결정 구조 및 수소결합 변화 (Evolution of Crystal Structure by Post-extension in Nylon 56 Fibers)

  • The crystal structure of nylon 56 fibers post extended by drawing process was investigated by synchrotron x-ray scattering measurement. In as-cast fiber, distinct (004) and (020) diffraction peaks were observed and they were related to initial metastable alignment of nylon molecules. With increase in the drawing ratio, (110) peak intensity was increased in vertical direction with decreasing (020) peak. At the same time, (004)' peak evolved position tilted to 29 degrees from the (004) peak. This evolution is directly related to stable crystalline phase of nylon 56 originated from additional formation of hydrogen bondings between N-H and C=O by post drawing process. We also compared density variation, stress-strain curves of the fiber as a function of drawing ratio and strain. The variations of density and tanacity also supported the increase of stable structure of nylon 56.

AZ31B 마그네슘판재의 온간, 열간 딮드로잉 성형성 평가 (The Drawbility Estimation in warm and Hot Forming of AB31B Magnesium Sheet)

  • The drawability of AZ31B magnesium sheet is estimated at various temperatures (200, 250, 300, 350, $400^{\circ}C$), forming speeds (20, 50, 100mm/min), thicknesses (0.8, 1.4mm) and blank holding forces (2.0, 2.8, 3.4kN). The deep drawing process (DDP) of circular cup is used in forming experiments. The results of deep drawing experiments show that the drawability is well at the range from 250 to $300^{\circ}C$, 50mm/min forming speed and 2.0kN blank holding force. The 0.8mm magnesium sheets were deformed better than 1.4 mm. Blank holding force was controlled in order to improve drawability and prevent the change of cup thickness. When blank holding force was controlled, tearing and thickness change were decreased and limit drawing ratio was improved from 2.1 to 3.0.

강소성 유한요소법과 신경망을 이용한 직사각재 인발공정에 관한 연구 (A Studyon the Drawing of Rectangular Rod from Round Bar by using Rigid Plastic FEM and Neural Network)

  • In this study, to analyze the shaped drawing process from round bar, the practical conical die with considering die radius and bearing was defined by a mathematical expression, and also a simple technique for initial mesh generation to the shaped drawing process was proposed. The drawing of rectangular section from round bar, one of the shaped drawing process, has been simulated by using non-steady state 3D rigid plastic finite element method in order to evaluate the influence of semi-die angle and reduction in area to corner filling. Other process variables such as friction constant, rectangular ratio, die radius and bearing length were fixed during the simulation. An artificial neural network has been introduced to obtain the optimal process conditions which gave rise to a fast simulation.
