Propellants pressurized and fed into the combustion chamber undergoes the mechanical, chemical combustion processes. Along with their distinctive physical characteristics, propellant combustion is typically divided into the processes; injection, atomization, mixing, vaporization and chemical reaction. These processes assumed to happen in a serial manner are strongly coupled, thereby involves formidable physical complexities. In this study a numerical experiment is attempted to simulate the burning sprays due to OFO, FOF triplet / FOOF split doublet injectors. Based on Eulerian-Lagrangian frame, Navier-Stokes equation system for compressible flows is preconditioned with low Reynolds number $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulent model and time-integrated by LU-SGS, and the sprays are described by DSF model with the characteristics initialized by experimentally determined spray characteristics. Simplified single global reaction model approximates heptane-air reaction. It was observed that FOOF split doublet injector shows better atmization with shortest residence and the FOF triplet injector produces better combustion performance.

Unsteady aerodynamic analysis of an aircraft is done using a frequency domian 3-D panel method. The method is based on an unsteady linear compressible lifting surface theory. The lifting surface is placed in a flight patch, and angle of attack and camber effects are implemented in upwash. Fuselage effects are not considered. The unsteady solutions of the code are validated by comparing with the solutions of a hybrid doublet lattice-doublet point method and a doublet point method for various wing configurations at subsonic and supersonic flow conditions. The calculated results of dynamic stability derivatives for aircraft are shown without comparision due to lack of available measured data or calculated results.
A low-cost optimal double-prism method is proposed by using the developed MATLAB program to correct chromatic aberration. We present an efficient approach to choose a couple of low-cost glasses to obtain a low aberration double prism. The doublet prisms were made of two lead-free glasses. The relative partial dispersion of the two lead-free glasses is identical and their Abbe numbers are different greatly. The proposed design aims to minimize chromatic aberration, such as in apochromats, for paraxial ray tracing. Finally, an optimization design for real ray tracing can be evaluated by the chromatic aberration curve with a minimal area.
Single crystalline, $LuFe_2O_4$, was grown by the floating zone method. The crystal structure was a two-dimensional layered-type rhombohedral($R\={3}mh$) structure, with an $a_0=3.440(2)\;{\AA}\;and\;a\;c_0=25.263(2)\;{\AA}$. The magnetic $N\'{e}el$ temperature($T_N$) was determined to be 250 K. The $M\"{o}ssbauer$ spectrum at 12 K was fitted with four sextet sets which was resulted from the crystal structure. The spectrm at room temperature consisted of three singlets and a doublet with the electric quadrupole splitting. The isomer shift($\delta$) value of the singlet was $0.20{\pm}0.01mm/s$ relative to the Fe metal indicating the $Fe^{3+}$ valence state, and the value of the doublet was $0.70{\pm}0.01mm/s$ indicating $Fe^{2+}$. The $M\"{o}ssbauer$ absorption area ratio between $Fe^{3+}$ and $Fe^{2+}$ at room temperature was 1:1. The doublet phase of spectra gradually disappears by up to 360 K. At 360 K, the spectrum shows the singlet phase. We suggested that the spontaneous polarization effect of $LuFe_2O_4$ was caused by the change of iron behavior.
In this paper, new linearization technique for bipolar OTAs using exponential-law circuits is described. The core circuit of the proposed OTAs is the multi-TANH doublet. The OTAs have adaptively biasing current sources, which consists of the exponential-law circuits. Three types of the OTAs are presented. The linear input voltage ranges of the OTAs are almost the same as the multi-TANH triplet. Further, the OTAs have lower power dissipation than the multi-TANH triplet.

Experiments to investigate the mixing performance of unlike doublet impinging jets are conducted. Reynolds number of simulants used in this study rages from 1.0 to 1.5 Cold flow test is performed to investigate the hydrodynamic effect and spray of the impinging jets are collected locally and calculated by using Rupe's mixing efficiency equation. Momentum exchanges and relative velocity ratio between two jets are taken as the main parameter to represent the effect of enlargement of the orifice diameter. As diameter ratio increases, the corresponding momentum ratio where maximum mixing efficiency occurs and relative velocity at the maximum mixing efficiency ranges 0.6 to 0.7, respectively. Penetration depth can be taken as a prominent parameter to estimate the mixing efficiency.
The spermiogenesis of Cipangopaludina chinensis malleata began with the changes of nucleus and cytoplasm. The chromatin in the nucleus began to stack and condense around perinuclear envelope. Axonema (doublet microtubules of 9+2) appeared in the cytoplasm. After this process, the cytoplasm was protruded and the bell-shaped nucleus was located on protruding part of it. The electron dense masses were distributed throughout cytoplasm and lysed or secreted by exocytosis of lysosomal vacuoles. Especially, some mitochondria were migrated by the doublet microtubules of axonema toward nucleus. The axoneme was enclosed by electron dense materials after exocytosis of unnecessary materials for the tail formation. The electron dense masses were released and migrated into the each part through microtubules or axonemal doublet microtubules as the granular particles. These granular particles were containing glycogen. Ultimately, the condensed head developed into helical and neck region into cylindrical shape respectively. The mitochondria which have regular lamellar layers at cross axis became to middle piece, and then spermatozoon was completely matured. Thus, these phenomena showed special processes in spermiogenesis, those were as follows; chromatin in the head was condensed, the head was changed into helical shape, and cytoplasmic materials are migrated and transferred into the each part in the tail by mitochondria and microtubules.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is developing the dot sight with a $2{\times}$ magnification. Methods: To magnify the target when we see the far through the non-magnified dot sight, we develop the new optical device which is detachable to the non-magnified dot sight. A new optical device is designed to facilitate the transition of an existing non-magnification ($1{\times}$) dot sight to the $2{\times}$ magnification dot sight. Results: We could design and fabricate the $2{\times}$ afocal optical system which is detachable to the non-magnified dot sight and be composed by a pair of doublet. When the system developed in this study was used, we could aim the external target by twice magnification, so we could further improve the accuracy of aim. Conclusions: We could design and manufacture the $2{\times}$ afocal optical system which can be detachable to the non-magnified dot sight. With the results, we could aim the external target by twice magnification, so we could further improve the accuracy of aim.
An advanced model for the linear flutter analysis is introduced in this paper. Higher-order beam structural models are developed by using the Carrera Unified Formulation, which allows for the straightforward implementation of arbitrarily rich displacement fields without the need of a-priori kinematic assumptions. The strong form of the principle of virtual displacements is used to obtain the equations of motion and the natural boundary conditions for beams in free vibration. An exact dynamic stiffness matrix is then developed by relating the amplitudes of harmonically varying loads to those of the responses. The resulting dynamic stiffness matrix is used with particular reference to the Wittrick-Williams algorithm to carry out free vibration analyses. According to the doublet lattice method, the natural mode shapes are subsequently used as generalized motions for the generation of the unsteady aerodynamic generalized forces. Finally, the g-method is used to conduct flutter analyses of both isotropic and laminated composite lifting surfaces. The obtained results perfectly match those from 1D and 2D finite elements and those from experimental analyses. It can be stated that refined beam models are compulsory to deal with the flutter analysis of wing models whereas classical and lower-order models (up to the second-order) are not able to detect those flutter conditions that are characterized by bending-torsion couplings.

In this manuscript, static and dynamic behaviors of geometrically imperfect carbon nanotubes (CNTs) subject to different types of end conditions are investigated. The Doublet Mechanics (DM) theory, which is length scale dependent theory, is used in the analysis. The Euler-Bernoulli kinematic and nonlinear mid-plane stretching effect are considered through analysis. The governing equation of imperfect CNTs is a sixth order nonlinear integro-partial-differential equation. The buckling problem is discretized via the differential-integral-quadrature method (DIQM) and then it is solved using Newton's method. The equation of linear vibration problem is discretized using DIQM and then solved as a linear eigenvalue problem to get natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes. The DIQM results are compared with analytical ones available in the literature and excellent agreement is obtained. The numerical results are depicted to illustrate the influence of length scale parameter, imperfection amplitude and shear foundation constant on critical buckling load, post-buckling configuration and linear vibration behavior. The current model is effective in designing of NEMS, nano-sensor and nano-actuator manufactured by CNTs.
