단일 구동부를 갖는 2축 도립진자의 자세제어 (Posture control of double inverted pendulum with a single actuator)

  • In this paper, the double inverted pendulum having a single actuator is built and the controller for the system is proposed. The lower link of the target pendulum system is hinged on the plate to free for rotation in the specified range($10^{\cire}$) on the x-z plane. The upper link is connected to the lower link through a DC motor. The double inverted pendulum built can be kept upright posture by controlling the position of the upper link even though it has no actuator in lower hinge. The algorithm to control the inverted pendulum consists of a state feedback controller within a linearizable range and a fuzzy logic controller coupled with a nonlinear feedback compensator for the rest of the range. Conventional state feedback control is employed, and the fuzzy controller is responsible for generating the reference joint angle of the upper link for the nonlinear feedback compensator which drives a DC motor to generate an indirect torque to the lower joint. As a result, we can get the upright posture of the proposed pendulum system. Simulations and experiments are conducted to show the validity of the proposed controller.

볼트수의 변화가 더블앵글 접합부의 회전강성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Variation of the Number of Bolts on the Rotational Stiffnesses of Double Angle Connections)

  • 저층 철골조의 시공에 있어서 더블앵글 접합부는 매우 효과적인 접합부의 한 형태로 취급된다. 더블앵글 접합부의 접합부 강성은 앵글의 두께, 볼트 게이지 거리, 볼트의 개수 등과 같은 여러 변수에 따라서 변화한다. 본 연구에서는 볼트수의 변화가 더블앵글 접합부의 모멘트-회전각 관계에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위하여 세 개의 더블앵글 접합부 실험이 수행되었다. 각각의 실험결과에 근거하여 각 실험에 사용된 더블앵글의 회전강성은 회귀분석을 통하여 산정되었다. 회귀분석결과 더블앵글 접합부의 접합부 강성은 볼트의 개수가 증가함에 따라서 함께 증가한다는 결론을 얻었다.

양발 드롭랜딩 시 만성적인 발목 불안정성 유무에 따른 하지주요관절의 역학적 특성 (Biomechanical Characteristic on Lower Extremity with or without Chronic Ankle Instability during Double Leg Drop Landing)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate differences of landing strategy between people with or without chronic ankle instability (CAI) during double-leg drop landing. Method: 34 male adults participated in this study (CAI = 16, Normal = 18). Participants performed double-leg drop landing task on a 30 cm height and 20 cm horizontal distance away from the force plate. Lower Extremities Kinetic and Kinematic data were obtained using 8 motion capture cameras and 2 force plates and loading rate was calculated. Independent samples t-test were used to identify differences between groups. Results: Compared with normal group, CAI group exhibits significantly less hip internal rotation angle (CAI = 1.52±8.12, Normal = 10.63±8.44, p = 0.003), greater knee valgus angle (CAI = -6.78±5.03, Normal = -12.38 ±6.78, p = 0.011), greater ankle eversion moment (CAI = 0.0001±0.02, Normal = -0.03±0.05, p = 0.043), greater loading Rate (CAI = 32.65±15.52, Normal = 18.43±10.87, p = 0.003) on their affected limb during maximum vertical Ground Reaction Force moment. Conclusion: Our results demonstrated that CAI group exhibits compensatory movement to avoid ankle inversion during double-leg drop landing compared with normal group. Further study about how changed kinetic and kinematic affect shock absorption ability and injury risk in participants with CAI is needed.

An atypical case involving real, ghost, and pseudo-ghost images on a panoramic radiograph

  • Purpose: This report presents a unique case featuring real, ghost, and pseudo-ghost images on the panoramic radiograph of a patient wearing earrings. It also explains the formation of these images in an easy-to-understand manner. Materials and Methods: One real image and two ghost images appeared on each side of a panoramic radiograph of a patient wearing earrings on both sides. Of the two ghost images on each side, one was considered a typical ghost image and the other was considered a ghost-like real image (pseudo-ghost image). The formation zones of the real, double, and ghost images were examined based on the path and angles of the X-ray beam from the Planmeca ProMax. To simulate the pseudo-ghost and typical ghost images on panoramic radiography, a radiopaque marker was affixed to the right mandibular condyle of a dry mandible, and the position of the mandible was adjusted accordingly. Results: The center of rotation of the Planmeca ProMax extended beyond the jaw area, and the area of double image formation also reached beyond the jaw. The radiopaque-marked mandibular condyle, situated in the outwardly extending area of double image formation, exhibited triple images consisting of real, double (pseudo-ghost), and ghost images. These findings helped to explain the image formation associated with the patient's earrings observed in the panoramic radiograph. Conclusion: Dentists must understand the characteristics and principles of the panoramic equipment they use and apply this understanding to taking and interpreting panoramic radiographs.

상·하부 T-stub 접합부의 초기회전강성 평가 (Evaluation of the Initial Rotational Stiffness of a Double Split Tee Connection)

  • 상 하부 T-stub 접합부는 보와 기둥의 강성비, T-stub의 기하학적 형상변화, 긴결재의 개수, 패널존 효과 등의 영향에 따라서 보통모멘트골조 및 특수모멘트골조에 적합한 거동특성을 나타내는 완전강도 부분강접 접합부(full strength partial restrained connection)이다. 이러한 상 하부 T-stub 접합부가 구조적으로 안전하게 거동하기 위해서는 충분한 강도, 강성, 연성능력을 나타내어야 한다. 이 연구는 T-stub의 기하학적 형상변화가 상 하부 T-stub 접합부의 모멘트-회전각 관계에 미치는 영향을 파악하고, 이에 따른 상 하부 T-stub 접합부의 초기회전강성을 평가하기 위해 진행하였다. 이를 위하여 T-stub의 기하학적 형상변수 ${\alpha}^{\prime}$값을 변화시킨 2개의 상 하부 T-stub 접합부 실험체를 제작하여 접합부 실험을 수행하였고, 3차원 비선형 유한요소해석도 수행하였다.

Computational Study of the Magnetically Suspended Centrifugal Blood Pump (2nd Report: Pressure Fluctuation and Stability of Impeller Rotation for Different Volute Shapes)

  • The turbo-type blood pump studied in this paper has an impeller that is magnetically suspended in a double volute casing. The impeller rotates with minimal fluctuations caused by fluid and magnetic forces. In order to improve stability of the rotating impeller and to facilitate long-term use, a careful investigation of the pressure fluctuations and of the fluid force acting on the impeller is necessary. For this purpose, two models of the pump with different volute cross-sectional area are designed and studied with computational fluid dynamics software. The results show that the fluid force varies with the flow rate and shape of the volute, that the fluctuations of fluid force decrease with increasing flow rate and that the vibratory movement of the impeller is more efficiently suppressed in a narrow volute.

A New Method for Efficient in-Place Merging

  • There is a well-known simple, stable standard merge algorithm, which uses only linear time but for the price of double space. This extra space consumption has been often remarked as lack of the standard merge sort algorithm that covers a merge process as central operation. In-place merging is a way to overcome this lack and so is a topic with a long tradition of inspection in the area of theoretical computer science. We present an in-place merging algorithm that rear-ranges the elements to be merged by rotation, a special form of block interchanging. Our algorithm is novel, due to its technique of determination of the rotation-areas. Further it has a short and transparent definition. We will give a presentation of our algorithm and prove that it needs in the worst case not more than twice as much comparisons as the standard merge algorithm. Experimental work has shown that our algorithm is efficient and so might be of high practical interest.

개폐 시 최소 간섭을 갖는 버터플라이 밸브 디스크의 설계 (Design of Butterfly Valve Disk to Minimize Interference at Opening and Closing)

  • In this study, the design and analysis of a butterfly valve disk was performed to minimize the rubbing between the disk and the seat at opening and closing. The butterfly valve has double eccentric structure and the contact surface between the disk and the seat is a conical surface. At the instant of opening and closing the valve by the rotation of disk, the positions of zero contact point are changed. Also, if the cone surface is cut in the perpendicular direction to the rotation axis of the valve, the contour of cutting section is hyperbolic. Therefore minimum distance between the origin of the eccentric axis and the hyperbolic curve goes to the position of zero contact point. In order to consider the interferences between the disk and the seat, the thermal-structure coupled field analysis was performed by ANSYS.

평행봉 몸 접고 2회전 뒤 공중 돌아 내리기 동작에 따른 착지동작의 성공요인 분석 (Analysis of Successful Landing of the Salto Backward Dismount on the Parallel Bars)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the mechanical factors that are crucial to the successful double salto backward piked dismount on the parallel bars. The subjects were 5 national gymnasts(G1: sucessed landing, G2: failed landing), two video cameras were used to record the dismount of the subjects. It summarizes that (a) It is important to make small slope angle(X axis, Y axis) at release, whereas it makes large shoulder angle and trunk rotation angle. (b) It is important to prepare landing in advance, reducing vertical velocity and making large hip angle at BTO(body take off). (c) It is also important to make small knee angle and hip angle, and reduce the angle of trunk rotation.

강구조 복앵글 전단 접합부의 구조적 거동에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Structural Behavior of Double-Angle Shear Connections in Steel Structures)

  • Shear connections in steel structures should satisfy dual criteria of shear strength and rotational flexibility and ductility. The connection should be strong enough to transfer the shear reaction of the beam, and should have sufficient rotational flexibility and ductility to rotate easily and supply the end rotation demand of the beam. This paper is concerned with the behavior of double-angle shear connections where the parameters are numbers of high strength bolts, bolt pitch, the length of angle leg, and connection method. An experimental investigation of shear connection was conducted by testing 12 beam-to-column joint specimens. Based on experimental and analytical study, the failure modes are developed and proposed design formulas.
