불연속면이 존재하는 지반에서 터널굴착에 의한 하중전이 (Load-transfer mechanism in the ground with discontinuity planes during tunnel excavation)

  • 본 연구에서는 지반내에 뚜렷한 불연속면의 존재로 인한 하중의 비대칭 전이특성과 이완영역의 형상을 실내실험에 기초하여 고찰하였다. 가동판(trap-door)과 바닥판(reaction plates)을 토조바닥에 설치하고, 건조한 모래지반에 연직의 불연속면을 설치하여 불연속성 지반을 형성하였다. 다양한 토피고와 불연속면의 위치를 실험변수로 적용하였다. 연구결과, 토층비(=토피고/가동판의 폭)가 1.5 이상이 되면, 토압비(전이응력/초기지반응력)는 일정한 값에 수렴되는 것으로 나타났다. 불연속면이 터널 폭 내에 위치하면 불연속면의 영향이 상대적으로 커져서 비대칭성 하중집중이 두드러지게 나타났으며, 터널폭 외부에 존재하면 비대칭성 하중집중이 상당히 감소하는 것으로 타나났다.

  • Injection pressure is one of factors that influence part quality. In this paper, injection pressure was minimized by optimizing valve gate locations. In order to perform design optimization, MAPS-3DTM (Mold Analysis and Plastic Solution-3D) was used for injection mold analysis and PIAnOTM (Process Integration, Automation and Optimization) was used as process integration and design optimization. Also we adapted meta models based on design of experiments for efficiency. By using introduced methodology, we were able to obtain a result so that maximum injection pressure reduced by 28% compared to the initial design. And the validity of the proposed method could also be demonstrated.

An Analysis of Trade Areas for Apparel Stores in Seoul - Based on Myeong-dong, Kangnam Station and Myeongil-dong -

  • The purpose of this study is to provide information how to locate a apparel store based on target age, merchandise's type and price. Three trade areas in Seoul are chosen: Myeong-dong which is the biggest trade area in Korea; Kangnam station one of representative Kangnam trade areas; and Myeongil-Dong a neighborhood trade area. This study is mainly performed by analysing the locations of the stores in the given areas. The result shows that the main apparel stores in Myeong-dong are casual wear stores for young people with the range of mid-high price. The stores in Kangnam station trade area also sell the casual wear for young people but they are mostly mid-low priced. In the trade area of Myeongil-dong, however, there are various kinds of mid-priced apparel stores for residents of all ages. Apparel stores for formal wear, casual wear, and formal-casual wear tend to be located side by side. But other kinds do not. These results show that affinity is found in some types of apparel stores by the analysis of the next-door apparel stores.

  • The wide gangway train have different indoor without the gate door to the most trains. in gangway train of structure without the section, heavy casualties are possible to occur by quite smoke movement in fire. in this study, fire behavior and smoke movement were analyzed as the locations and kinds of fire source by using FDS simulation tool. the model train size of $9m{\times}2.4m{\times}2.4m$ was serially constructed of six cars.

S-BRT 운행행태를 고려한 저상버스의 정차시간 예측모형 (A Estimation of Dwell Time of Low-floor Buses considering S-BRT Operation Behavior)

  • This basic study introduces the concept of S-BRT and develops dwell time estimation models that consider road geometry and S-BRT characteristics for a signal operation strategy to meet the S-BRT's operational goal of high speed and punctuality. Field surveys of low-floor buses similar in shape to S-BRTs and data collection of passengers, station elements, vehicle elements, and other factors that can affect stop times were used in a regression analysis to establish statistically significant dwell time estimation models. These dwell time estimation models are developed by categorizing according to the locations of the signal or sidewalk that have the most impact on the dwell time. In this way, the number of people boarding and alighting the bus at the crowded door and the number of people boarding and alighting the bus at the front door considering the internal congestion was analyzed to affect the dwell time. The estimation dwell time models in this study can be used in the establishment of strategies that provide priority signals to S-BRTs.

Evaluation of an Appropriate Replacement Cycle for Copper Antibacterial Film to Prevent Secondary Infection

  • The use of copper antibacterial films as an effective infection prevention method is increasing owing to its ability to reduce the risk of pathogen transmission. In this study, we evaluated the bacterial contamination of the antibacterial copper membrane attached to a door handle at a university over time. Six mounting locations with high floating population were selected. In three sites, the door handles with the antibacterial film were exposed, while the remaining three were not attached with the antibacterial films. On days 7 and 14, isolated bacterial strains were inoculated in BHI broth and agar, respectively. Colony-forming units (CFU) were determined after incubation. Strain identification was performed using bacterial 16s rRNA PCR and sequencing. Results showed that the bacterial population on day 14 significantly increased from 6 × 109 CFU/mL (day 7) to 2 × 1010 CFU/mL. Furthermore, strain distribution was not different between the on and off the copper antibacterial film groups. In conclusion, although copper has an antibacterial activity, microbial contamination may occur with prolonged use.

시퀀스 기반 위치추정 시스템을 위한 효율적 노드배치 알고리즘 (Efficient Node Deployment Algorithm for Sequence-Based Localization (SBL) Systems)

  • 본 논문에서는 실내 위치 추정시스템에 주로 사용되는 시퀀스 기반 위치추정(Sequence-Based Localization, SBL) 알고리즘의 성능향상을 위한 노드배치 알고리즘에 대해 연구한다. 기존의 노드선택 또는 배치알고리즘은 다수의 타겟이 위치하는 공간의 중심값에 노드들을 위치시켜 성능향상을 이루는 반면, SBL에서는 위치추적 알고리즘 특성상 타겟을 에워싸는 공간에서의 노드배치가 효율적일 수 있음에 주목한다. 이를 실현하기 위해 K-means clustering 알고리즘을 통한 노드배치 가능 공간을 선정하고, 그 선정된 공간상의 효율적 노드위치를 찾기 위해 2분법을 활용하여, 설계 복잡도가 낮은 노드배치 알고리즘을 제시한다. 제안된 노드배치알고리즘은 다양한 모의실험을 통해 무작위 노드배치 알고리즘 대비 뛰어난 위치추정성능을 보여주며, 노드위치를 위한 전역탐색 (full search)과 비교하여, 상당히 낮은 설계복잡도를 유지하면서도 만족할 만한 성능을 보인다.

The Effect of Platform Screen Doors on PM10 Levels in a Subway Station and a Trial to Reduce PM10 in Tunnels

  • $PM_{10}$ concentrations were measured at four monitoring sites at the Daechaung station of the Seoul subway. The four locations included two tunnels, a platform, and a waiting room. The outside site of the subway was also monitored for comparison purposes. In addition, the effect of the platform screen doors (PSDs) recently installed to isolate the $PM_{10}$ in a platform from a tunnel were evaluated, and a comparison between $PM_{10}$ levels during rush and non-rush hours was performed. It was observed that $PM_{10}$ levels in the tunnels were generally higher than those in the other locations. This might be associated with the generation of $PM_{10}$ within the tunnel due to the train braking and wear of the subway lines with the motion of the trains, which promotes the mixing and suspension of particulate matter. During this tunnel study, it was observed that the particle size of $PM_{10}$ ranged from 1.8 to 5.6 ${\mu}m$. It was revealed that the $PM_{10}$ levels in the tunnels were significantly increased by the PSDs, while those in the platform and waiting room decreased. As a result, in order to estimate the effect of ventilation system on $PM_{10}$ levels in the tunnels, fans with inverters were operated. It was found that the concentration of $PM_{10}$ was below 150 ${\mu}g/m^3$ when the air flow rate into a tunnel was approximately 210,000-216,000 CMH.

전력용 변압기 외함 소음저감에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Tank Noise Reduction Techniques of Power Transformers)

  • According to the increase of power demand and expansion of downtown, it is necessary to install transformers additionally in operating substations and construct substations in residential area. But the public complaint has been increased due to the transformer noise of the substation. KEPCO has used a vibration preventing pad, various soundproof walls and an encloser to transformers in outdoor substations, and a soundproof door, shutter and wind-path soundproof equipment in indoor substations to block the sound propagation from the transformers. But these noise reduction methods are not satisfied. It should be considered to reduce transformer noise itself. In this paper, we investigated tank noise reduction techniques to develope a low noise transformer. According to the mode analysis of transformer tank, we found out characteristics and locations of noise on the tank, and it's nature vibration was also analysed. On the basis of these analysis, reinforcement equipment was installed around transformer tank, and ellipse shape tank was changed to round shape tank. The effect of noise reduction was evaluated using noise generation source.

  • The finite element analyses of the wrinkling initiation and growth in the sheet metal forming process provide the detailed information about the wrinkling behavior of sheet metal. The direct analyses of the wrinkling initiation and growth, however, bring about a little difficulty in complex industrial problems because it needs large memory size and long computation time. For the description of wrinkling growth, the mesh elements should be sufficiently small and the size of finite element matrix becomes large. In the static implicit finite element method therefore, the direct analysis of wrinkling growth in a complex sheet metal forming process is rather difficult. From the industrial viewpoint of tooling design, the readily available information of possibility and location of wrinkling is sometimes more preferable to the detailed time-consuming information. In the present study, therefore, the wrinkling factor that shows locations and relative possibility of wrinkling initiation is proposed as a convenient tool of relative wrinkling estimation based on the energy criterion. The location and relative possibility of wrinkling initiation are predicted by calculating the wrinkling factor in various sheet metal forming processes such as cylindrical cup deep drawing, spherical cup deep drawing, and elliptical cup deep drawing. The wrinkling factor is also implemented in the analysis of the door inner stamping process to predict wrinkling.
