Taxonomic entities of two Korean plant taxa: Vicia bifolia (Fabaceae) and Cyperus compressus (Cyperaceae)

  • Vicia bifolia Nakai (Fabaceae) and Cyperus compressus L. (Cyperaceae) have been ambiguous in terms of their distribution and taxonomic entities in Korea. The existence of these two taxa was confirmed when V. bifolia and C. compressus was found on Jellabuk-do, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Jeju-do. Vicia bifolia is similar to V. unijuga by having a pair of leaflets but is distinguished by the length of the petiole, the size and degree of longevity of the bracts, and the shape of the stipules. Cyperus compressus was found on Jeju-do, is similar to C. tenuispica, C. haspan, and C. flaccidus, but is distinguished by the branching pattern of the inflorescences and the size of scales and achenes. A description, differences from related species, a key to the taxa and photographs of Korean Vicia bifolia and Cyperus compressus are provided in this study.

터널 굴착에 따른 전기비저항 모니터링 기술 적용 (Application of resistivity monitoring with tunnel excavation area)

  • 전기비저항 탐사법은 터널 주변 지반 혹은 암반의 안정성을 조사하기 위해 사용되는 물리탐사법 중의 하나이다. 다양한 물리탐사법 중에서도 전기비저항 탐사법은 터널설계 단계에서 미리 소사가 수행되어 시공비용을 절감하고 안정성을 확보하기 위한 중요한 자료로 이용되고 있다. 현재 전기비저항 탐사 자료의 해석은 주로 1회의 단일 측정 자료를 대상으로 이루어지고 있지만, 터널 굴착이나 기 굴착된 터널의 유지관리를 위해서는 터널 주변의 시간에 따른 지하수의 분포상황 변화 등이 관측되어야 한다. 이를 위해서는 모니터링 기법이 도입되어야 한다. 따라서 터널 굴착에 따른 전기비저항 변화 파악을 위하여 격자형 측선을 설치하여 총 6회의 전기비저항 모니터링을 수행하였다. 또한 모니터링 시스템을 통해 조사지역에 분포하는 단층대에 상세한 정보를 제공함으로써 안전시공에 예측 시스템으로 가능유무를 평가하고자 하였다.

공론조사의 숙의 유도 방법 : 한국 상황에서의 문제점 검토 (Is Information Distribution and Group Discussion Useful for the Deliberative Poll in Korea?)

  • 본 연구는 공론조사(deliberative poll)에서 숙의(deliberation)를 유도하는 방법의 문제가 무엇인지 살펴보고자 한다. 지금까지 공론조사의 문제점으로는 대표성 저하 문제가 주로 지적되어 왔고 공론조사의 핵심이라 할 수 있는 숙의 방법에 대한 문제 제기는 거의 없었다. 즉 피시킨이 제안한 공론조사는 전문가 강연 및 인위적인 집단토론 방법을 이용했는데, 최근 이루어진 공론조사들은 이것을 의심의 여지없이 수용해 왔다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 공론조사의 숙의 방법 자체에 어떠한 문제가 있는지를 살펴보기 위한 목적에서 출발했다. 특히 숙의 유도 방법으로서 전문가 강연 및 토론 등의 전통적인 방법이 한국 상황에서도 적합할지에 의문을 제기해 보았다. 본 연구를 위채 2006년 2월 전국 1,000명을 대상으로 유선전화를 이용한 '생명과학 인식에 대한 전국 여론조사'를 실시했다. 조사 결과 숙의 유도의 주요 방법인 집단토론은 보편성이 떨어지고, 표본의 대표성도 저하시키는 것으로 나타났다. 한국에서 공론조사가 성과를 거두기 위해서는 인위적인 토론 과정에의 참가만을 판단하여 숙의가 이뤄졌다고 단정하기보다는 자연적인 숙의를 유발할 수 있는 방안의 모색이 필요하다.

항공사 유통경로에 대한 e-비즈니스 파급효과 (e-Business Impacts on Distribution Channel in Airlines)

  • From the growth of internet technology, many e-commerce principles have been Introduced In airline industry. The computer reservation systems(CRS) has been considered as the first real-time business application and the earliest examples of e-commerce. in airlines, the early e-business activity was to build the web site for providing flight Information to customers. Recently, many airlines are expanding the capability of the web site for selling tickets on the web to make use of the cheaper distribution channel. In this paper, we focus on the impacts of airline e-business being implemented in airline distribution channels. Using the conjoint analysis, we suggest a model for estimating the change of market sales for each distribution channel. With the empirical survey, we can find some implications on the e-business strategy and the effective internet marketing tools for airlines.

  • 본 논문은 선용품의 공급자와 수요자를 요구를 분석하고자 한다. 또한 부산항에 국제선용품 분배센터를 건립함에 있어 타당성을 파악하고자 하였다. 따라서 선용품 관련 878회사에 설문지를 배부하여 주요 항목에 대한 분석을 하였다. 연구결과 국제선용품 분배센터의 필요성을 보여주었다. 본 논문 결과에 따라 선용품 분배 센터의 성공적 운영에 도움이 될 것이다.

A study of Chinese distribution policies and challenges

  • Purpose - The objective of this paper is to explain how the Chinese distribution market will continue to bring tremendous business opportunities to commercial enterprises given the relatively strong economic fundamentals and substantial government-led measures for boosting domestic demand. Research design, data, and methodology - The study conducted a survey on China's 2011 retail market data. After empirically analyzing the data on retail sales, online retail markets, and franchises, we believe that online retailing in China will maintain its growth momentum. Results - This study shows that 2012 is expected to be a challenging year for the retail sector, as both external and internal pressures are likely to persist. Some of the major challenges facing retailers in China are mentioned below. Conclusions - Retailers in China face several major challenges. First, the uncertain economic outlook is having a considerable impact on China's retail market. Second, China's retailers face an unfair competition environment. Third, they are suffering the impacts of product safety problems.

친환경 쌀의 유통 특성 및 재배유형별 경영성과 분석 (Analysis of Economic Effects and Distribution Structure for Environment-friendly Rice's Production)

  • This study was carried out to present the measures for the stable environment-friendly rice's production, farm income increase and consumption revitalization and so on by analyzing economic effects of the environment-friendly rice's production complex by certification type, cultivation type and distribution type. Data were collected from the environment-friendly rice's production complex in Kyunggi, Kangwon, Chungnam and Chunnam provinces. Survey was conducted with sorted by organic and no-pesticide farming. Of the samples 5 types of organic farming and 4 types of no-pesticide farming were surveyed in 17 and 18 complex, respectively. The farmers income of organic and no-pesticide farming per 10a were individually about $29{\sim}68%$ and 50% higher than the conventional farming. Base on the above results, the reasonable measures fur the stable environment-friendly rice's production and distribution and consumption revitalization were to secure partnership among business, universities, government and research institutes sectors, to organize farmers group and production complex, to establish RPC for environment-friendly rice and to introduce certification system for the distribution dealers.

By empirically analyzing the data for retail sales of online markets and franchises, we conclude that the online retail market in China will continue to grow. Results - Based on data from 2012, 2013 is expected to be a challenging year for the retail sector, as both external and internal pressure is likely to persist. This paper outlines some major challenges facing retailers in China. Conclusions - The study shows that retailers in the Chinese market will face some major challenges: 1) the Chinese retail market is considerably affected by an uncertain economic outlook 2) an unfair environment of competition exists and 3) product safety is a serious issue. However, in the future, China's retail market will continue to bring tremendous business opportunities to commercial enterprises, given the relatively strong economic fundamentals and substantial government-led measures to boost domestic demand.

The Localization Strategies and Success of Costco : Focusing on a Japanese Mature Retail Market

  • Purpose - This research addresses the question of how an international retailer like Costco can succeed in a foreign mature market and satisfy the local consumers. Our study aims to promote our understanding of how foreign retailers influence local consumers in a mature market with differentiated business models. Research design, data, and methodology - Our study uses company publications, secondary sources of information and the results of a questionnaire survey consisting of 106 participants. Consumer responses were solicited through a questionnaire survey conducted in the city of Kobe in December of 2013. Results - Product differentiation from local retailers in a mature market like Japan gave Costco a competitive edge. Compared with local supermarkets, Costco was preferred by Japanese consumers for its variety of goods that it carries, as well as in-store promotion large package of selling units, in-store amenities, and customer services. Conclusions - First, a theoretical framework is proposed in this study that can aid in developing localization strategies in a mature market such as Japan. Second, it reveals that an international retailer can succeed in a foreign market by stimulating local consumers to change their purchasing behavior, without having to alter the prevailing format of operation.
