  • To realize a ubiquitous logistics management system using the smart object of Electronic Product Code(EPC) enabled RFID tag, the design and management of RFID Information Service is very important. RFID Information Service searches, transfers and responds to the other's PML request, but Physical Markup Language (PML) data management between trading system elements has issues of standardization of PML data description and processing, and problems of data traffic and communication time overload because of the innate distributed characteristics. As a complementary study, this research analyzes the usage patterns and data types of PML. On that analysis we provide a design of the distributed RFID Information Service architecture of PML data management that is using DB middleware. Standalone and Integrated type of RFID IS were proposed.

  • Recently, most of global enterprises have geographically distributed organization, thus have distributed information systems which have distributed database systems. So, it is difficult for these systems to provide common views for the application programs of end users. One of solutions to solve these difficulties is an MDBS(Multidatabase System) A method to effectively implement MDBS is a schema integration. This paper proposes a methodology for a schema integration through extraction of common similar subschemas Our methodology is consisted of 5 phases : affinity analysis, extraction of similar subschemas, decision of imtegration order, resolution of semantic conflict, and schema integration. To verify the usability of our methodology, a case study is implemented with an object of MDBS. At a result, our approach can effectively be applied to the extraction of common similar subschemas and schema integration.

Abstract In this paper, we propose a distributed shared memory(DSM) based parallel processing system to process GIS related computations efficiently in real time. The system is based on a software DSM module implemented on top of a distributed MIMD computer. In the DSM system, spatial object, which is a fundamental structure to represent GIS data, is used as a basic unit for sharing, and a read-only shared data type is added to reflect the characteristics of GIS data. In addition, a bulk access to multiple shared data is made possible to reduce the network overhead. A guided self scheduling method is devised for efficient load balancing in distributing GIS data to parallel processors. The experimental results show that the DSM system performs better than an MPI based message-passing system through the efficient utilization of network cache in spite of the system's software overhead.

  • Existing machine-to-machine collaboration system is a centralized structure system fo built OpenWrt and a Web server on the router. But scarce resources of the router are getting more requests from the collaboration client when a problem has occurred with increasing probability of a client object, the higher the traffic. In this paper, in order to solve the problem, we propose a distributed system utilizing Machine Socialization cooperation algorithm. The MCU attached to the machine to minimize the traffic occurrence probability and loss of the data by processing to distribute the data between the server and the client. Also improve the response speed between the server and the client and the operation stop caused by the loss of data. The proposed system will be utilized if the IoT field will be high efficiency compared to existing systems.

  • Recently, the necessity of automatic knowledge extraction from spatial data stored in spatial databases has been increased. Spatial data mining can be defined as the extraction of implicit knowledge, spatial relationships, or other knowledge not explicitly stored in spatial databases. In order to extract useful knowledge from spatial data, an object management system that can store spatial data efficiently, provide very fast indexing & searching mechanisms, and support a distributed computing environment is needed. In this paper, we designed and implemented an open object management system for spatial data mining, that supports efficient management of spatial, aspatial, and knowledge data. In order to develop this system, we used Open OODB that is a widely used object management system. However, the lark of facilities for spatial data mining in Open OODB, we extended it to support spatial data type, dynamic class generation, object-oriented inheritance, spatial index, spatial operations, etc. In addition, for further increasement of interoperability with other spatial database management systems or data mining systems, we adopted international standards such as ODMG 2.0 for data modeling, SDTS(Spatial Data Transfer Standard) for modeling and exchanging spatial data, and OpenGIS Simple Features Specification for CORBA for connecting clients and servers efficiently.

  • High Level Architecture(HLA) is a specification for interoperation among heterogeneous simulators which are executed in a distributed environment. HLA originally allows many federates to join in a federation using a single RTI(Run-Time Infrastructure). As the target systems become more complex, the need for the interoperation of federations, performed in a RTI-RTI interoperation environment, has been growing. It can be performed by the confederation interface with the agents, which subrogate the API calls and callbacks of each federation. The existing studies have assumed that the object models of each federation are based on same HLA standard and their object descriptions are equal. Because the existing federations are usually not under this assumption, this paper proposes the integration process of object models for the federation interoperation environment. To integrate the object models for the interoperation of federations, this process resolves the differences of HLA standards, provides conversion process between objects with different descriptions and excludes the security objects. We expect that this process enhances the reusability and effectiveness of interoperation of federations in various domains.

  • In recent years, distributed computing environments have been radically changing to a structure of global, heterogeneous, federative and wide-area systems. This structure's environments consist of a let of objects which are implemented on telecommunication network to provide a wide range of services. Furthermore, all of objects existing on the earth have the duplicated characteristics according to how to categorize their own names or properties. But, the existing naming or trading mechanism has not supported the binding services of duplicated objects, because of deficiency of independent location service. Also, if the duplicated objects which is existing on different nodes provide the same service, it is possible to distribute the client requests considering each system's load. For this reason, we designed and implemented a new model that can not only support the location management of replication objects, but also provide the dynamic binding service of objects located in a system with minimum overload for maintaining load balancing among nodes in wide-area object computing environments. Our model is functionally divided into two parts; one part is to obtain an unique object handle of replicated objects with same property as a naming and trading service, and the other is to search one or more contact addresses by a location service using a given object handle. From a given model mentioned above, we present the procedures for the integrated binding mechanism in design phase, that is, Naming/Trading Service and Location Service. And then, we described in details the architecture of components for Integrated Binding Service implemented. Finally, we showed our implement environment and executing result of our model.

  • Scientific analysis are carried on gilded ornamental shoes, which have been excavated from tomb No 1. and No 4. in Beopcheon-ri, Wonju dated from Baekje Period. This object is a very important because it provides valuable information on the development of metal-making techniques of that period. Thus, this article illustrates the investigation conducted to reveal how the object was created using what materials and techniques. Instead of the spikes-attached to the bottom plate of the object-that couldn't be sampled, a sample of a decorative rivet showing a similar structure to the spikes-attached to the other parts of the shoes-was prepared for a cross-section examination. Using radiography and microscopes, it was found that the head of a spike was placed and then punched to the gilded plate, so it can be held to the shoes. Under the SEM-EDS, the cross-section of the rivet shows that the gilding layer was applied before the attachment of the rivets. It also shows that the gilding layer is distributed unevenly and there are empty spaces indicating amalgam gilding was employed. This was confirmed as Mercury was detected on the SEM-EDS analysis of the object. The examination of the microstructure of the plate using the SEM-EDS revealed that the object is made of a single copper alloy plate with recrystallized twining and non-metallic white inclusions, which found to be lead in this case.

  • As the internet technologies develop, the geographic information system environment is changing to the web-based service. Since geospatial information of the existing Web-GIS services were developed independently, there is no interoperability to support diverse map formats. In spite of the same geospatial information object it can be used for various proposes that is duplicated in GIS separately. It needs intelligent strategies for optimal replica selection, which is identification of replication geospatial information objects. And for management of replication objects, OMG, GLOBE and GRID computing suggested related frameworks. But these researches are not thorough going enough in case of geospatial information object. This paper presents a model of location service, which is supported for optimal selection among replication and management of replication objects. It is consist of tree main services. The first is binding service which can save names and properties of object defined by users according to service offers and enable clients to search them on the service of offers. The second is location service which can manage location information with contact records. And obtains performance information by the Load Sharing Facility on system independently with contact address. The third is intelligent selection service which can obtain basic/performance information from the binding service/location service and provide both faster access and better performance characteristics by rules as intelligent model based on rough sets. For the validity of location service model, this research presents the processes of location service execution with Graphic User Interface.

  • This research studies real time interaction and dynamic data shared through 3D scenes in virtual network environments. In a distributed virtual environment of client-server structure, consistency is maintained by the static information exchange; as jerks occur by packet delay when updating messages of dynamic data exchanges are broadcasted disorderly, the network bottleneck is reduced by predicting the movement path by using the Dead-reckoning algorithm. In Dead-reckoning path prediction, the error between the estimated and the actual static values which is over the threshold based on the shared object location requires interpolation and multicasting of the previous location by the ESPDU of DIS. The shared dynamic data of the 3D virtual environment is implementation using the VRML.
