Standardization for Annotation Information Description of Speech Database (음성 DB 부가 정보 기술방안 표준화를 위한 제안)

  • This paper presents about the activities of speech database standardization in ETRI. Recently, with the support of government, ETRI and SiTEC have been gathering the large speech corpus for the domestic speech related companies. First, due to the lack of sharing the knowledge of speech database specification, the distributed speech database has a different format. Hence it seems to be needed to have the same format as soon as possible. ETRI and SiTEC are trying to find the better representation format of speech database. Second, we introduce a new description method of the annotation information of speech database. As one of the structured description method, XML based description will be applied to represent the metadata of the speech database. It will be continuously revised through the speech technology standard forum during this year.

The T-tree index recovery for distributed main-memory database systems in ATM switching systems (ATM 교환기용 분산 주기억장치 상주 데이터베이스 시스템에서의 T-tree 색인 구조의 회복 기법)

  • DREAM-S is a distributed main-memory database system for the real-time processing of shared operational datra in ATM switching systems. DREAM-S has a client-server architecture in which only the server has the diskstorage, and provides the T-Tree index structure for efficient accesses to the data. We propose a recovery technique for the T-Tree index structre in DREAM-S. Although main-memory database system offer efficient access performance, the database int he main-memory may be broken when system failure such as database transaction failure or power failure occurs. Therfore, a recovery technique that recovers the database (including index structures) is essential for fault tolerant ATM switching systems. Proposed recovery technique relieves the bottleneck of the server processors disk operations by maintaining the T-Tree index structure only in the main-memory. In addition, fast recovery is guaranteed even in large number of client systems since the T-Tree index structure(s) in each system can be recovered cncurrently.

  • When we integrate schema of distributed local databases, we mean entity integration as central concept of schema integration, and semantic of entity affects several factors. Thus the schema integration in distributed database environment starts from definition of domain relation among entity types of local schemas. Moreover, the domain relation defined by designer needs some works for confidence and validation of schema integration system. But this work was not presented in previous integration system. In this paper, we define object oriented integration for schema integration of local databases in distributed system environment, present models to verify validation on its integration, and implement the validation system.

  • One of the most difficult problems in building a distributed GIS lies in the heterogeneity of spatial databases. In particular, positional mismatches between spatial databases, which arise due to several reasons, may incur incorrect query results. They result in unreliable outputs of query processing. One simple solution is to correct positional data in spatial databases at each site, according to the most accurate one. This solution is however not practical in cases where the autonomy of each database should be respected. In this paper, we propose a spatial query processing method without correcting positional data in each spatial database. Instead of correcting positional data, we dynamically transform a given query region or position onto each space where spatial objects of each site are located. Our proposed method is based on an elastic transformation method by using delaunay triangulation. Accuracy of this method is proved mathematically, and is confirmed by an experiment. Moreover, we implemented using common use database system for usefulness verification of this method.

  • The necessity of Information integration has emphasized by advancement of internet and change of enterprise environment. In enterprises, it usually integrates the multi-database constructing by M&A. For this integration of information it must guarantee interpretation and integration which is stabilized with solving heterogeneous characteristic problem. In this paper, we propose the method that change the global XML query to local XML query for interpretation. It is based on XMDR(eXtended Meta-Data Registry) which expresses the connection between the standard and the local for solve the interoperability problem in heterogeneous environment. Thus, we propose the legacy model that can search and modify by one Query with creating global XML Query by XMDR. and for his, we use the 2PC technique which is the distributed transaction control technique of existing.

  • This paper is the introduction of our work on distributed load scheduling in single-level tree network. In this paper, we derive a new calculation model in single-level tree network and show a closed-form formulation of the time for computation system. There are so many examples of the application of this technology such as distributed database, biology computation on genus, grid computing, numerical computing, video and audio signal processing, etc.

  • In this research, our goal is to realize Korean Distribute TTS system with server/client function in wireless network. The speech databases and some routines of TTS system is stuck with the server which has strong functions and we made Korean speech databases and accomplished research about DB which is suitable for distributed TTS. We designed a terminal has the minimum setting which operate this TTS and designed proper protocol so we will check action of Distributed TTS.

  • A distributed DBMS integrates local schemas that are independently designed, maintained, and managed by different users at each site providing a global virtual schema. This global schema supports users at a specific site to transparently utilize local database at different sites. The security features of the local schema should also not be changed in the global schema integrating security features of each local schema. Researches on the integration of security features into local schema in distributed DBMS environment, however, are very rate. This pater using the multilevel secure object-oriented database model(as the model for the definition of a local schema in distributed environment) which is an extension of the object-oriented models. It also suggests eight integration methods that can maintain the security features of local schemas. The eight methods are classified by the object classes and by relationships among them.

A Design of TopicMap System based on XMDR for Efficient Data Retrieve in Distributed Environment (분산환경에서 효율적인 데이터 검색을 위한 XMDR 기반의 토픽맵 시스템 설계)

  • As most of the data configuration at distributed environment has a tree structure following the hierarchical classification, relative data retrieve is limited. Among these data, the data stored in a database has a problem in integration and efficient retrieve. Accordingly, we suggest the system that uses XMDR for distributed database integration and links XMDR to TopicMap for efficient retrieve of knowledge expressed hierarchically. We proposes a plan for efficient integration retrieve through using the XMDR which is composed of Meta Semantic Ontology, Instance Semantic Ontology and meta location, solves data heterogeneity and metadata heterogeneity problem and integrates them, and replaces the occurrence of the TopicMap with the Meta Location of the XMDR, which expresses the resource location of TopicMap by linking Meta Semantic Ontology and Instance Semantic Ontology of XMDR to the TopicMap.
