  • In distributed data processing environments, heterogeneous data sources should corporate each other. The CORBA standards proposed by OMG solve this problem by the integration of platform independent applications. In this paper, we design and implement a CASE tool that help linking CORBA applications to relational databases by interface method. This CASE tool manipulates the database schema and generates IDL and $C^{++}$ stubs corresponding to the schema. We explain the code generation process and evaluate the data access performance of the interface method compared to adapter method and various implementation languages. The implemented tool can be used for developing applications that need relational database corporation environments such as distributed information systems or data warehousing. etc.

  • We introduce a family of simulators for I/O-intensive distributed or parallel applications, and a methodology that permits selecting the most efficient simulator meeting a given user-defined accuracy requirement. This methodology consists of a series of tests to choose an appropriate simulation based on the attributes of the application. In addition, each simulator provides two estimates of application execution time: the minimum expected time and the maximum. We present the results of applying our methodology to existing applications, and show that we can accurately simulate applications tens to hundreds of tunes faster than the application execution times.

  • Real-time(RT) object-oriented(OO) distributed computing is a form of RT distributed computing realized with a distributed computer system structured in the form of an object network. Several approached proposed in recent years for extending the conventional object structuring scheme to suit RT applications, are briefly reviewed. Then the approach named the Real Time Simulation Programing(RTSP) structuring scheme was formulated with the goal of instigating a quantum productivity jump in the design of distributed time triggered simulation. The RTSP scheme is intended to facilitate the pursuit of a new paradigm in designing distributed time triggered simulation which is to realize real-time computing with a common and general design style that does not alienate the main-stream computing industry and yet to allow system engineers to confidently produce certifiable distributed time triggered simulation for safety-critical applications. The RTSP structuring scheme is a syntactically simple but semantically Powerful extension of the conventional object structuring approached and as such, its support tools can be based on various well-established OO programming languages such as C+ + and on ubiquitous commercial RT operating system kernels. The Scheme enables a great reduction of the designers efforts in guaranteeing timely service capabilities of application systems.

  • Recently, as the development and use of distributed multimedia services are growing explosively in every aspects of our lives, administrators of multimedia services are very concerned with providing users with reliable and efficient services. However, the management of distributed multimedia services is a very complex and troublesome work such that a flexible but powerful management system is necessary. This paper proposes a management system for managing CORBA-based distributed multimedia services. We have developed an architecture for the management system and defined a set of management services needed to monitor and control distributed multimedia services. The architecture consists of several objects, which perform configuration management, fault management, security management and event management. A generic distributed multimedia service (DMS) MIB has been defined for the management of various multimedia services and applications. In addition, as a proof of concept, we have developed a Web-based management system for a CORBA-based distributed multimedia system called MAESTRO. The prototype management system uses OrbixWeb to interface with the management server which is implemented as a set of CORBA objects. Though our management system has been developed for distributed multimedia services, it can easily manage other CORBA-based services and applications.

  • A heuristic algorithm for reliability optimization of a distributed network system is developed so that the reliability of a large system can be determined efficiently. This heuristic bases on the determination of maximal reliability set of maximum node capacity, maximal link reliability and maximal node degree.

  • The requirement of distributed multimedia applications is the need for sophisticated QoS(quality of service) management. In terms of distributed multimedia systems, the most important catagories for quality of service are a timeless, volume, and reliability In this paper, we discuss a method for increasing reliability through fault tolerance. We describe the design and implementation of the ECA running on distributed multimedia environment. ECA is a system is able to classify automatically a software error based on distributed multimedia. This papaer explains a performance analysis of an error classification system running on distributed multimedia environment using the rule-based DEVS modeling and simulation techniques. In DEVS, a system has a time base, inputs, states, outputs, and functions.

  • Recently, blockchain has been attracting attention as a high-reliability technology in various fields. However, the Proof-of-Work-based distributed consensus algorithm applied to representative blockchains, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, has limitations in applications to various industries owing to its excessive resource consumption and performance limitations. To overcome these limitations, various distributed consensus algorithms have appeared, and recently, hybrid distributed consensus algorithms that use two or more consensus algorithms to achieve decentralization and scalability have emerged. This paper introduces the technological trends of the latest high-performance distributed consensus algorithms by analyzing representative hybrid distributed consensus algorithms.

  • The volume of genomic data is constantly increasing in various modern industries and research fields. This growth presents new challenges and opportunities in terms of the quantity and diversity of genetic data. In this paper, we propose a distributed cloud system for integrating and managing large-scale gene databases. By introducing a distributed data storage and processing system based on the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), various formats and sizes of genomic data can be efficiently integrated. Furthermore, by leveraging Spark on YARN, efficient management of distributed cloud computing tasks and optimal resource allocation are achieved. This establishes a foundation for the rapid processing and analysis of large-scale genomic data. Additionally, by utilizing BigQuery ML, machine learning models are developed to support genetic search and prediction, enabling researchers to more effectively utilize data. It is expected that this will contribute to driving innovative advancements in genetic research and applications.

  • For efficiently providing multimedia services, distributed computing environments are specified the requirements of various services and distributed object platforms applied an object-oriented technology by TINA Consortium and OMG CORBA. Because multimedia service applications are becoming large and distributing, their servicing managing interfaces among objects are being complicated. In order to solve these defects, it is necessary to suggest a new object grouping model and specify object service/management requirements can be introduced under the object groups. We have been developed the distributed object group platform that can group all individual objects by the relating services and can supply trading functions for interconnecting between distributed objects or object groups. In this paper, we designed and implemented the Virtual Drawing Board for remote equational services on the distributed object group platform we mentioned above. As results, we designed a basic structure and service interfaces, and showed execution procedures of VDB system consisted of distributed objects and objects groups for educational services. For supporting distributed services of VDB system, we used three kinds of tools as follows; IONA orbix 2.2 of CORBA compliance as an object middleware, OrbixTrader 1.0 for interconnection of distributed objects, and the OGTG we developed for interconnection of distributed object groups and checking access rights of objects included in an arbitrary object group.
