항공기 계기판의 적정배열을 위한 인간공학적 연구 (A Human Factors Study in Instrument Panel Layout of the Korean Air Force Aircraft.)

  • The purpose of this thesis is to study the optimal arrangement of aircraft instrument panels through the human factors approach. Human factors engineering is the process of effectively fitting the human component to the machine component in any man-machine system. The human factors. are especially important to an aircraft pilot who must constantly shift his attention between the instrument panel within the cockpit and the surrounding area of the aircraft. The preliminary part of this study is to find the general patterns of the Korean pilot's eye movements during their various flying maneuvers, and which instruments require the most attention while in flight. It is assumed that all pilots have a general pattern of eye movement when observing the aircraft instrument panel and that an optimum arrangement would be to minimize the eye travel distance between instruments. In this thesis the arrangements of instruments is taken to be the independent variable and the eye travel distance between instruments the dependent variable. la order to compile the information necessary for this study, sixty Korean Air Force pilots were interviewed and requested to complete information forms. These information forms listed various flying maneuvers and listed each instrument used on the instrument panel. The compilation of the information on these completed forms listed the instruments most frequently used by the pilots. The second part of this study was to determine the optimum instrument arrangement. It was necessary to study the various number of possible arrangements of instruments depending upon the number of instruments involved. Therefore, these instruments are grouped by two major functions, The flight instruments were subdivided into three groups, and the engineering instruments were subdivided into six groups. With this subdivision we arrive at the possible number of arrangements of 4,320. Through the simulation method, total eye travel distance for each of these 4,320 arrangements is calculated and the arrangement which appears to be of optimum distance between the most frequently used aircraft instruments is determined. The results of this study indicate that the optimum distance between instruments would be 33,028cm and that the corresponding distance of the instrument panel now being used is 34,288cm. Therefore, an increased efficiency of $3.8\%$ would be realized if the existing aircraft instrument panel were re-arranged according to layout proposed in this thesis.

산화질소 분자 퍼텐셜에 적용한 Numerov-Cooley 방법 (Numerov-Cooley Method on a Potential of NO Molecule)

  • Numerov-Cooley 방법을 적용할 때 양쪽에서 전파된 파동함수를 연결시키는 것이 관건인데, 잘 알려진 스프레드시트인 엑셀에서 해찾기 도구를 활용하여 Numerov 방법의 파동함수 연결을 해결하였다. 한쪽방향으로 전파하여 얻은 에너지 값과 반대쪽으로 전파하여 얻은 에너지 값들의 평균을 이용해 상태함수의 고유값을 정하는 방법도 같은 결과를 보임을 확인하였다. 산화질소 분자 퍼텐셜 위에서 이 방법을 적용하였고, 진동에너지에 따른 원자간 평균거리와 터널링 변화를 계산하였다. 진동에너지가 증가하면서 분자 결합 길이는 비례하여 늘어나지만, 터널 효과는 모든 진동 상태가 어느 정도의 확률을 가지며 에너지 증가에 둔감하다는 것을 확인하였다.

An Improvement of Particle Swarm Optimization with A Neighborhood Search Algorithm

  • J. Kennedy and R. Eberhart first introduced the concept called as Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). They applied it to optimize continuous nonlinear functions and demonstrated the effectiveness of the algorithm. Since then a considerable number of researchers have attempted to apply this concept to a variety of optimization problems and obtained reasonable results. In PSO, individuals communicate and exchange simple information with each other. The information among individuals is communicated in the swarm and the information between individuals and their swarm is also shared. Finally, the swarm approaches the optimal behavior. It is reported that reasonable approximate solutions of various types of test functions are obtained by employing PSO. However, if more precise solutions are required, additional algorithms and/or hybrid algorithms would be necessary. For example, the heading vector of the swarm can be slightly adjusted under some conditions. In this paper, we propose a hybrid algorithm to obtain more precise solutions. In the algorithm, when a better solution in the swarm is found, the neighborhood of a certain distance from the solution is searched. Then, the algorithm returns to the original PSO search. By this hybrid method, we can obtain considerably better solutions in less iterations than by the standard PSO method.

발산거리 기반의 신경망에 의한 가우시안 확률 밀도 함수의 군집화 (Guassian pdfs Clustering Using a Divergence Measure-based Neural Network)

  • 음성인식 모델상의 GPDFs(Gaussian Probability Density Functions)을 효율적으로 군집화 할 수 있는 알고리즘이 제안되었다. 제안된 알고리즘은 데이터 사이의 거리 척도로 발산 거리를 사용하는 새로운 형태의 CNN(Centroid Neural Network)으로, 제한된 자원을 가지는 H/W환경의 음성인식에서 메모리 사용량을 축소하는 응용에 대한 실험 결과, 음성인식 모델인 CDHMM(Continuous Density Hidden Markov Model)에서 기존의 Dk-means(Divergence-based k-means)알고리즘을 이용한 방법과 비교하여 인식 성능의 유지와 함께 약 31.3%의 GPDFs를 더 축소할 수 있었고, 군집화 알고리즘을 적용하지 자은 전체 GPDFs를 사용한 경우와 비교해서 인식 성능의 유지와 함께 약 61.8%의 GPDFs를 압축할 수 있었으며, SNR 10㏈ 잡음 데이터에 대한 성능평가에서도 인식 성능이 유지될 수 있었다.

연료분무의 위상도플러 측정과 확률밀도함수의 도출 (Phase Doppler Measurements and Probability Density Functions in Liquid Fuel Spray)

  • The intermitternt and transient fuel spray have been investigated from the simultaneous measurement of droplet sizes and velocities by using Phase/Doppler Particle Analyzer(PDPA). Measurement have been done on the spray axis and at the edge of the spray near nozzle at various gas-to-liquid density ratios(.rho./sub g//.rho./sub l/) that ranges from those found in free atmospheric jets to conditions typical of diesel engines. Probability density distributions of the droplet size and velocity were obtained from raw data and mathematical probability density functions which can fit the experimental distribations were extracted using the principle of maximum likelihood. In the near nozzle region on the spray axis, droplet sizes ranged from the lower limit of the measurement system to the order of nozzle diameter for all (.rho./sub g/ /.rho./sub l/) and droplet sizes tended to be small on the spray edge. At the edge of spray, average droplet velocity peaked during needle opening and needle closing. The rms intensity is greatly incresed as the radial distance from the nozzle is increased. The probability density function which can best fit the physical breakage process such as breakup of fuel drops is exponecially decreasing log-hypebolic function with 4 parameters.

Development of the Computerized Mathematics Test in Korean Children and Adolescents

  • Objectives: This study was conducted in order to develop a computerized test to measure the level of mathematic achievement and related cognitive functions in children and adolescents in South Korea. Methods: The computerized Comprehensive Learning Test-Mathematic (CLT-M) consists of the whole number computation test, enumeration of dot group test, number line estimation test, numeral comparing test (magnitude/distance), rapid automatized naming test, digit span test, and working memory test. To obtain the necessary data and to investigate the reliability and validity of this test, 399 children and adolescents from kindergarten to middle school were recruited. Results: The internal consistency reliability of the CLT-M was high (Cronbach's alpha=0.76). Four factors explained 66.4% of the cumulative variances. In addition, the data for all of the CLT-M subtests were obtained. Conclusion: The computerized CLT-M can be used as a reliable and valid tool to evaluate the level of mathematical achievement and associated cognitive functions in Korean children and adolescents. This test can also be helpful to detect mathematical learning disabilities, including specific learning disorder with impairment in mathematics, in Korea.

Max-Log-MAP을 이용한 Gray 부호화된 PAM 신호의 연판정 계산식 (Soft decision for Gray Coded PAM Signals Using Max-Log-MAP)

  • 본 논문에서는 로그 최우비(log likelihood ratio, LLR)를 이용하여 Gray 부호화된 PAM신호를 위한 비트 연판정 계산식을 제안한다. 이 계산식은 Gray 매핑 특성을 이용하여 Max-Log-MAP 알고리듬에서 필요한 max0/min0 함수를 사용하지 않고 산술 연산만을 사용하기 때문에 구현이 간단하다. 제안된 식의 결과는 기존 Max-Log-MAP 알고리듬의 결과와 일치한다. 또한, 식에 사용되는 인자들은 송수신 시스템이 서로 공유하는 정보와 수신된 심벌 값만을 이용하여 계산한다. 따라서 본 논문에서 제안된 알고리듬은 일반적으로 많이 사용하는 이진 반복 복호기 등과 함께 실제 응용 설계에 적용이 가능하며, 특히 실제 설계에 적용되는 기존의 여러 가지 알고리듬에 비하여 구조가 유연하고 효율적이며 정확한 비트별 LLR을 제공하는 효율적인 방법 중의 하나이다.

변분법에 의한 탄성지반 해석 (Application of Variational Method to the Elastic Foundation)

  • 평면 변형률 상태에 있는 탄성지반의 해를 변분법을 적용하여 유도하여 보았다. 변분법 적용시 종방향 변위분포 함수는 선형함수를 고려하였다. 탄성지반상에 작용하는 하중조건은 집중하중과 분포하중을 고려하였는데 집중하중 작용시 탄성지반의 종방향 변위분포양상은 하중 작용점에서 멀어질수록 변위가 급격하게 감소하는 양상을 나타내었다. 등분포하중 작용시 지표면 변위는 압축층 두께에 대한 재하폭의 반의 비(B/H)값이 클수록 하중재하부분 아래에서 보다 균등하게 발생하였다. 또한 하중재하부분을 벗어난 영역에서는 B/H 값이 커질수록 하중재하 모서리 부분으로부터 짧은 거리에서 변위가 0에 수렴하였다.

상호정보 에너지와 델타함수 기반의 알고리즘에서 크기 조절된 입력의 전력변화에 대한 연구 (A Study on Power Variations of Magnitude Controlled Input of Algorithms based on Cross-Information Potential and Delta Functions)

  • 이 논문에서는 충격성 잡음환경에서 탁월한 성능을 보이는 CIPD 알고리즘에 대해, 오차에 대한 가우시안 커널로 입력이 보정된 MCI의 전력 추이를 가중치 갱신 방정식에 반영한 새로운 방식을 제안하였다. 제안한 알고리즘이 기존의 CIPD 알고리즘보다 우수한 성능을 가지는지 평가하기 위해, 각 알고리즘의 가중치 벡터 변화량이 얼마나 충격성 잡음에 강인한가를 충격성 잡음하에서 비교하였으며, 실험 결과에서 2배 이상의 정상상태 안정성 향상, 약 1.8배 빠른 수렴속도와 약 2dB 정도 더 낮은 최소 MSE 값을 나타냈다.

핀-휜형 방열판의 설계 최적화 (Design Optimization of a Pin-Fin Type Heat Sink)

  • Design optimization of the heat sink with 7${\times}$7 square pin-fins is performed numerically using the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and the Computer Aided Optimization (CAO). In the pin-fins heat sink, the optimum design variables for fin height (h), fin width (w), and fan-to-heat sink distance (c) can be achieved when the thermal resistance ($\theta$$_{j}$) at the junction and the overall pressure drop ($\Delta$p) are minimized simultaneously. To complete the optimization, the finite volume method for calculating the objective functions, the BFGS method for solving the unconstrained non-linear optimization problem, and the weighting method for predicting the multi-objective problem are used. The results show that the optimum design variable for the weighting coefficient of 0.5 are as follows: w=4.653 mm, h=59.215 mm, and c=2.667 mm. In this case, the objective functions are predicted as 0.56K/W of thermal resistance and 6.91 Pa of pressure drop. The Pareto optimal solutions are also presented.re also presented.d.
