Loop closure-based high-resolution façade digital modeling technique of large-scale dams using UAV

  • Structural digital models can be effectively established by spatially obtaining digital images using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). One of the main purposes of the structural digital modeling is computer vision-based exterior damage detection of a target structure. To investigate micro-scale damage from the digital model, high-resolution digital images obtained with a close-up vision survey is typically required. However, serial image synthesis such as image stitching may cumulate stitching errors as the number of scanned images increases. Therefore, in this paper, a novel loop closure-based digital image stitching technique is proposed and experimentally validated using the close-up surveyed digital images acquired from an in-situ dam structure located in South Korea. The test results reveal that the proposed technique outperforms a non-loop closure-based image stitching technique, which can cause serious distortions, such as ghosting and vanishing phenomena.

  • Han River water landscape changes between 1966 and 2002 were detected by interpreting IKONOS images, aerial photographs. Digital photogrammetry technique was used in this process. Most of water landscape change are disappearance of sandbars and meandering streams in 1966. It is mainly due to the stream straightening for housing site development.

  • This study analyzed the fashion design features of Iris van Herpen and createdsixdigital fashion designsusing the SCAMPER technique with 3D clothing design software, incorporating a futuristic theme. The research methodology involvedcase analysis and a literature survey. First, the study summarizedthe design style and characteristics of Iris van Herpen. Second, a design concept wasestablished, and a design mood board wascreated. Third, the resulting design features were combined with the SCAMPER technique to incorporate Iris van Herpen's design elements intonew digital fashion designs. Fourth, after discussion with the professor and expert group, six designs were selected for production. They includededgy suit coats, overcoats, asymmetrical hoodies and asymmetrical skirts, irregularly shaped tops, dresses, leggings, jackets,and fishtail skirts. This study provides a reference for the future development of digital fashion designs and showcases the integration of science and technology in fashion design.

  • This study intends to prepare a system that can be used, by applying digital technique, in analyzing complexity of architectural forms that have been visualized by the correlation based on the distribution chart made in accordance with profile lines. The profile lines are derived from the edge analysis of the architectural forms, simplified based on the visual theory. For the purpose, this study was conducted in the following ways: First, problems of the existing models for the elevation analysis were examined along with formal analysis based on visual recognition to consider the profile lines derived from the forms. Secondly, in elevation analysis, profile lines were derived by digital method to measure them qualitatively. To verify the objectivity of the measured data value, a survey was conducted based on the adjective cataloging method, and the correlation of the survey result and analyzed data was analyzed to verify the validity of the derived data. Thirdly, supplementation for the problems deducted from experiments and the possibility to use it in designing were suggested. Digital method has many advantages over the conventional analyzing system in deriving precise data value by excluding subjectivity. It also allows various analytical methods in analyzing numerous data repeatedly. Diversified models and methods of analysis considering numerous factors arising in the process of designing remain assignments to research in future.

  • Recently, the studies of contents protection technique are getting popular in the field of internet DRM(Digital Right Management). But, authentication process of digital contents is different from each implementation. Also, protection technique for the contents rights intrusion adapts each other methodologies. We survey the modeling and system of DRM such as DOI, INDECS, MPEG-21, XrML, and OPIMA standard in this paper.

  • Rice (Oryza Sativa) is an important source of food for the people of our country, even though of world also .It is also considered as the staple food of our country and we know agriculture is the main source country's economy, hence the crop of Rice plays a vital role over it. For increasing the growth and production of rice crop, ground-breaking technique for the detection of any type of disease occurring in rice can be detected and categorization of rice crop diseases has been proposed in this paper. In this research paper, we perform comparison between two classifiers namely MDC and Bayes' classifiers Survey over different digital image processing techniques has been done for the detection of disease in rice crops. The proposed technique involves the samples of 200 digital images of diseased rice leaf images of five different types of rice crop diseases. The overall accuracy that we achieved by using Bayes' Classifiers and MDC are 69.358 percent and 81.06 percent respectively.

New Digital Esthetic Rehabilitation Technique with Three-dimensional Augmented Reality: A Case Report

  • This case report describes a dynamic digital esthetic rehabilitation procedure that integrates a new three-dimensional augmented reality (3D-AR) technique to treat a patient with multiple missing anterior teeth. The prostheses were designed using computer-aided design (CAD) software and virtually trialed using static and dynamic visualization methods. In the static method, the prostheses were visualized by integrating the CAD model with a 3D face scan of the patient. For the dynamic method, the 3D-AR application was used for real-time tracking and projection of the CAD prostheses in the patient's mouth. Results of a quick survey on patient satisfaction with the two visualization methods showed that the patient felt more satisfied with the dynamic visualization method because it allowed him to observe the prostheses directly on his face and be more proactive in the treatment process.

A study on the Realtime Update of the Digital-Map by the General Survey Map (일반측량성과도에 의한 수치지도의 수시갱신방법 연구)

  • The renewal update of the digital map constructed through NGIS has been conducted for the enhancement of usage, maintenance so that the latest data is guaranteed. The total update has been done every five years for five regions of the country using aerial photographs and satellite images. By launching the third phase of NGIS, the updating plan was changed from total to total or partial update including the real time update scheme. Furthermore, the update period was improved from five to two years and four years for a large and a small city, respectively. Therefore, it is necessary to develope a matching technique which combines various geographic information (such as drawing map, surveying drawing and map) with exact position on the digital map. In this study, we developed a matching algorithm based on central point and suggested a method which uses general surveying drawing for revision/update of the digital map. The general survey is conducted when a civilian development on lands are approved. Thus, the outcome from the survey, which is the general survey drawing, contains the latest various contents such as road, building, water pipe and manhole. A consistent and efficient method using the general survey drawing for near real time update of the digital map by applying the developed matching algorithm is presented.

Review on Digital Image Watermarking Based on Singular Value Decomposition

  • With the rapid development of computer technologies, a number of image modification methods have emerged, which have great impacts on the security of image information. Therefore, it is necessary to protect the integrity and authenticity of digital images, and digital watermarking technique consequently becomes a research hotspot. An effort is made to survey and analyze advancements of image watermarking algorithms based on singular value decomposition (SVD) in recent years. In the first part, an overview of watermarking techniques is presented and then mathematical theory of SVD is given. Besides, SVD watermarking model, features, and evaluation indexes are demonstrated. Various SVD-based watermarking algorithms, as well as hybrid watermarking algorithms based on SVD and other transforms for copyright protection, tamper detection, location, and recovery are reviewed in the last part.
