  • In this study, we have developed the digital hardware system which performs signal processing necessary for the filtering to eliminate noises by inputting pulse wave signals from the sensor group.   • In the playback signal processing of a digital magnetic recording system, the major signal processing processes consist of pulse equalization. pulse detection, clock recovery, and data recovery. Equalizer which compensates interference occurrde between pulses recorded in high density on a magnetic media is realized by pulse slimming method, and pulse detection by a integrating detector. Clock recovery from the detector output was accomplished by using PLL. and data recovery to reduce noise effects was carried out by utilizing the three sampling clocks recovered in clock recovery process. In this paper these processes are implemented in hardware and its performance is evaluated by experimenting with a commercial DAT. It was found that the playback signal processor proposed is suitable to the practical high density magnetic recording system.

  • XRF 시스템에서 디지털 방식으로 펄스를 합성하는 기술은 현재 다양하게 발전 되면서 기존의 아날로그 방식을 대신하고 있다. XRF 시스템에서는 펄스의 높이를 분석하기 위해 주로 trapezoidal 필터를 사용한다. 본 논문에서는 trapezoidal 필터의 하드웨어 구현을 위한 효율적인 구조를 제안한다. 또한 측정 오차가 기존 알고리즘에 의한 오차의 절반으로 감소되면서 효율적인 하드웨어 구현이 가능한 최대값 검출 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 하드웨어 언어인 Verilog HDL로 설계하고 FPGA로 구현하였으며 테스트보드를 제작하여 성능을 검증하였다.

  • Interpolator is a very important element in NC machines in that it controls tool path and speed. In this paper, studied were extensive interpolation characteristics of reference pulse method among various interpolation and pulse generation methods. Specifically, processing speed and path error of DDA, SPD and SFG methods were compared and analyzed against line, circle and elipse. As a result, in the point of processing speed, SPD method was found to be the best for line interpolation, SFG method for circle and ellipse, and DDA method was found to be the slowest for all paths. In the point of path error, DDA method was found to have the biggest error for all kinds of paths.

A technique for the reduction of pulse pile-up effect in pulse-shape discrimination of organic scintillation detectors

  • A technique for the reduction of pulse pile-up effect in digital pulse-shape discrimination (PSD) of neutrons and gamma-rays with organic scintillation detectors is presented. The technique is based on an electronic reduction of the effective decay-time constant of scintillation pulses while retaining the PSD information of the pulses. The experimental results obtained with a NE213 liquid scintillation detector in a mixed radiation field of neutrons and gamma-rays are presented, demonstrating a figure of merit (FOM) of 1.20 ± 0.05 with an energy threshold of 350 keVee (electron equivalent energy) when the effective length of the pulses is reduced to 50 ns.

Numerical modelling and finite element analysis of stress wave propagation for ultrasonic pulse velocity testing of concrete

  • Stress wave propagation through concrete is simulated by finite element analysis. The concrete medium is modeled as a homogeneous material with smeared properties to investigate and establish the suitable finite element analysis method (explicit versus implicit) and analysis parameters (element size, and solution time increment) also suitable for rigorous investigation. In the next step, finite element analysis model of the medium is developed using a digital image processing technique, which distinguishes the mortar and aggregate phases of concrete. The mortar and aggregate phase topologies are, then, directly mapped to the finite element mesh to form a heterogeneous concrete model. The heterogeneous concrete model is then used to simulate wave propagation. The veracity of the model is demonstrated by evaluating the intrinsic parameters of nondestructive ultrasonic pulse velocity testing of concrete. Quantitative relationships between aggregate size and testing frequency for nondestructive testing are presented.

무선통신을 이용한 방사선측정 시스템 개발 (Developement of Radiation Measuring System using Wireless Communication)

  • GM 계수관을 방사선 검출기로서 사용하고, 검출기의 신호를 디지탈 펄스로 변환하는 펄스처리회로와 디지탈 통신방식의 하나인 FSK(frequency shift keying) 변복조회로를 설계하였으며, 휴대용 무전기로 송수신되는 방사선 검출신호를 방사선량과 방사선량율로 개인용 컴퓨터의 화면에 표시하는 단일채널 무선 방사선측정 시스템을 개발하고 성능을 평가하였다. 성능검증 실험에서 펄스를 입력한 경우와 검출기에 방사선을 조사시킨 경우 펄스처리회로에서 약 5V의 동일한 디지탈 펄스가 출력되었고, 무선통신계통에서도 입력과 출력이 왜곡없이 송수신되고 있음을 확인하였다. 검출기에 표준방사선원(Cs-137)으로 방사선을 조사시켜 선량률을 측정한 결과 측정오차는 조사된 선량률의 10% 이내를 나타내었다. 본 시스템은 국내에선 처음으로 설계되었으며, 향후 다중채널로 구성하여 실시간 개인방사선피폭선량계, 방사선감시기 등 여러 용도의 방사선측정기에 응용함으로써 방사선방어에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

  • This paper proposes a method called linear prediction (a high performant technique in digital speech processing) for analyzing digital ECG signals. There are several significant properties indicating that ECG signals have an important feature in the residual error signal obtained after processing by Durbin's linear prediction algorithm. The ECG signal classification puts an emphasis on the residual error signal. For each ECG's QRS complex. the feature for recognition is obtained from a nonlinear transformation which transforms every residual error signal to set of three states pulse-cord train relative to the original ECG signal. The pulse-cord train has the advantage of easy implementation in digital hardware circuits to achive automated ECG diagnosis. The algorithm performs very well feature extraction in arrythmia detection. Using this method, our studies indicate that the PVC (premature ventricular contration) detection has a at least 90 percent sensityvity for arrythmia data.

  • 항공기용 펄스 도플러 위상 배열 레이더에 관한 시간 영역에서의 클러터 생성 모델을 제시한다. 구형의 지구라는 가정에서 클러터 패치의 기하학적 위치를 고려하여 시간 영역의 지표면 클러터 신호를 생성하였으며, 부배열 단위로 클러터 신호를 생성하였다. 이렇게 생성한 부배열 단위의 클러터 신호는 DBF(Digital Beamforming), ABF(Adaptive Beamforming), STAP(Space-Time Adaptive Processing) 등의 다양한 레이더 응용에서 시뮬레이션 입력 신호로 사용되어질 수 있다.
