A Study on U-Learning (U-Learning에 관한 연구)

  • This paper represent a method of U-Learning based on advanced e-Learning. Ubiquitous computing configuration and advanced Information technology. As we know well, the 21th century is called knowledge based informational society. Many scholar stress that the improved 21th century's educational paradigm be able to success based on advanced educational paradigm. Therefore, we discuss the material for e-Learning fields including with necessity, vision, law, quality authorization etc. Also, we discuss the relational technologies including with meta data, standardization, identification etc. Finally, we propose a method for constructing the U-Learning based on advanced e-Learning and Ubiquitous computing configuration.

An Augmented Reality-Based Digital App as an Educational Tool for Foreign Language Learning and the Evaluation of Its Learning Effect: Towards an Examination of Learning Motivation, Learning Satisfaction, and Learning Engagement (증강현실(Augmented Reality) 기술 기반의 글자교구재 디지털 앱 개발 사례와 교육효과 평가: 학습동기, 학습만족도, 학습몰입도를 중심으로)

  • The present work aimed to present the development of 'Funt', the augmented reality-based digital app as an educational tool for foreign language learning. Our work further evaluated the learning efficacy of the tool by the assessment of the three dependent measures including learning motivation, learning satisfaction, and learning involvement. With a learning app of 'Funt', students can use AR app to access recognition-based or location-based experiences such that any objects, artifacts, or media appear to be in the app. Students are then able to interact with the digital content by manipulating it to learn more about it. Students's engagement should also increase when they create their own experience in AR to demonstrate their understanding of a particular concept or words. Learning effects were evaluated on survey data collected from a hundred respondents aging six to nine years. One-group design for pre-test and post-test was utilized to examine the differences of learning efficacy by comparing the non-'Funt' group and the Funt group scores. A pairwise t-Test was performed for pairwise comparisons between two learning groups. The results indicate that the 'Funt' group scored significantly higher than the non-'Funt' group in the measures of learning motivation, learning satisfaction, and learning involvement. Overall, our results suggest that 'Funt' attracted the students' attention, provided them with a fun context to learn English vocabulary, and develop positive motivation and satisfaction towards vocabulary learning through AR technology.

  • This study aimed to determine factors affecting attitudes and digital literacy toward online learning of nurses. A cross-sectional study was conducted from 190 nurses working in hospitals. The factors influencing the online learning attitude were gender, working hospital size, and perceptions of internet usefulness and importance, and the factors influencing digital literacy were age, working position, perceptions of internet usefulness and importance, and attitudes toward online learning. Online learning and educational development of nursing could be explained in the context of rapidly evolving information and communication technologies, and it is necessary to consider learner factors such as attitudes and digital literacy toward online learning.

Effectiveness of Blended Learning Method on Digital Logic Circuit

  • An ideal teaching-learning method, such as the blended learning method, is to motivate interests in education and to allow active class participation of students. Students exposed to this method are hypothesized to be dedicated in learning and their school life. A research was conducted on $11^{th}$ graders in Daejeon city high school specialized in industry; the blended learning method was applied to a course, digital logic circuit and the effects on the students' learning were monitored. The result shows that compared with a common leaning method, the blended learning method is very effective in terms of increasing educational interest, class participation, the level of concentration in class and academic achievement of students. Also, it shows positive feedbacks from the students on the educational videos and the usage of the contents. Conclusively, the blended learning method effectively increases academic achievements through improved educational motivation and active class participation which positively affect the overall satisfaction of participants.

A Lightweight Deep Learning Model for Text Detection in Fashion Design Sketch Images for Digital Transformation

  • In this paper, we propose a lightweight deep learning architecture tailored for efficient text detection in fashion design sketch images. Given the increasing prominence of Digital Transformation in the fashion industry, there is a growing emphasis on harnessing digital tools for creating fashion design sketches. As digitization becomes more pervasive in the fashion design process, the initial stages of text detection and recognition take on pivotal roles. In this study, a lightweight network was designed by building upon existing text detection deep learning models, taking into consideration the unique characteristics of apparel design drawings. Additionally, a separately collected dataset of apparel design drawings was added to train the deep learning model. Experimental results underscore the superior performance of our proposed deep learning model, outperforming existing text detection models by approximately 20% when applied to fashion design sketch images. As a result, this paper is expected to contribute to the Digital Transformation in the field of clothing design by means of research on optimizing deep learning models and detecting specialized text information.

  • Digital textbook project is one of government-driven project to improve education due to integrating technology. Digital textbook need to be universally designed to fit for each student. Recently, universal design for learning( UDL) gains great attention as one of promising approaches for the development of the digital textbook through giving various options and flexibility to all students. UDL has three main principles, first provide multiple means of representation, second provide multiple means of action and expression, third provide multiple means of engagement. The purpose of the study is to analyze fourth grade science textbook according to three UDL guidelines and suggest implications to improve an existing science textbook. The results indicated that fourth grade science digital textbook has been partly applied UDL guidelines like implementing multimedia and multi- mode contents, learning and communication tools, and motivation strategies. But options which students can choose according to their needs and styles are insufficient and tools for expression and communication need to enhance for helping each student to overcome his/her obstacles for learning and need to be more and elaborate to support learner-centered science digital textbook.

  • In the future, various products are created in various fields using artificial intelligence. In this age, it is a very important problem to know the operation principle of artificial intelligence learning method and to use it correctly. This paper introduces artificial intelligence learning methods that have been known so far. Learning of artificial intelligence is based on the fixed point iteration method of mathematics. The GD(Gradient Descent) method, which adjusts the convergence speed based on the fixed point iteration method, the Momentum method to summate the amount of gradient, and finally, the Adam method that mixed these methods. This paper describes the advantages and disadvantages of each method. In particularly, the Adam method having adaptivity controls learning ability of machine learning. And we analyze how these methods affect digital signals. The changes in the learning process of digital signals are the basis of accurate application and accurate judgment in the future work and research using artificial intelligence.

A Study on the Characteristics Satisfaction in Digital Convergence based Micro-Learning (디지털융합 기반 마이크로러닝 특성 만족도 연구)

  • This study defined the characteristics of micro-learning emerging by mobile learning and micro-contents in the e-learning field, and analyzed the satisfaction of application, to see if micro-learning could become a new learning type in the future. To this end, the characteristics of micro-learning were defined through preliminary literature analysis, the characteristic satisfaction was verified in the well-equipped micro-learning site, and any other technical functions were suggested through expert opinion gathering. It was suggested that the future technology of e-learning should be linked to technical functions such as learning analysis and performance measurement. According to the results of this study, if micro-learning reflects its functional characteristics well, it will become an effective learning type in the e-learning field and will greatly contribute to education, learning, and training for the new millennial.

  • This paper studies characteristics of e-Learning users' motivation, attitudes and satisfaction. For this purpose, surveys were conducted of university students who choose e-Learning as one of main learning tools. The research found that stable service and proper service charges were critical to the loyalty to e-Learning service. It also showed that both quality and quantity of contents were very important factors to e-Learning growth.
