  • The technological innovation of IT industry is the competitive tool for them to survive in the environment of an intensive competition. This technological innovation is critical in the survival of firms, but various factors should be considered to embody technological innovation success. This paper aims to identify the determinant factors of the outcome which influence the technological innovation based on the IT industry, and set up a model for measuring technological innovation success with its relevant understanding through the preceding studies.   • As a form of reciprocity or exchange, gift giving is one of the processes that integrate a society. There has been a long history of research on gift giving behavior in the communication area. Recently with the advent of digital environment, digital contents gift giving behavior became a prevalent social custom. But there has been little research of an individual consumer's consumption behavior of digital contents gift giving. Drawing on the innovation theory, technology acceptance model, and gift giving literature, the author take a quantitative approach to the effect of innovation attributes on mobile coupon gift giving behavior. The result showed that innovation attribute did positive influence to mobile coupon gift giving behavior. Furthermore, consumer innovation attribute moderate in the relationship between product innovation and mobile gift giving attitude.

A Study on the Determinants of Business Performance of Agricultural Firms with the Digital Agriculture -Focused on Moderating Effect of Finance Support Program- (디지털농업화에 따른 농업경영체의 기업성과 결정요인에 관한 융복합 연구 -재정지원 프로그램 활용의 조절효과 중심으로-)

  • This study investigated the effect of digital agriculturalization factors on business performance with the use of financial support as a moderating variable for agricultural firm workers. The factors of digital agriculture were divided into digital technology innovation orientation, administration innovation orientation, healthiness of ecosystem and entrepreneurship orientation, and business performance was set as a dependent variable. 212 questionnaires collected from workers in agricultural businesses located across the country were used for empirical analysis. Analysis results using SPSS v22.0 and Process macro v3.4 are as follows: First, digital technology innovation orientation, administration innovation orientation, and entrepreneurship orientation have a significant effect on business performance, and the effect of ecosystem health on business performance is appeared to be insignificant. Second, the use of financial support was found to significantly moderating the relationship between digital technology innovation orientation and business performance, entrepreneurship orientation and business performance. On the other hand, it was found that the relationship between operational innovation orientation, business performance, and healthiness of ecosystem and business performance were not significantly moderated In addition, as a follow-up study, a study on the mediation model formed by the discovery of mediators and a study for a moderated mediation analysis through a conditional process model with additional mediators are required.

  • With the rapid development of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and digital transformation, scientific and technological innovation measures are being devised to overcome Korea's low-growth, high-cost structure. Accordingly, by examining the R&D investment evaluation system of R&D PIE (R&D Platform for Investment and Evaluation), which has been promoted by the Korean government in response to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, from the perspective of R&D transformation, this study aims to explore a new path for a sustainable national science and technology innovation system following digital transformation. In particular, from the perspective of R&D PIE, a MLP (Multi-level Perspective), which had been conducted as an abstract theoretical study, was attempted with specific cases and analysis for each of the three layers: niche, landscape, and regime. In conclusion, R&D PIE was intended to elevate the abstract R&D investment evaluation system to a platform that leads innovation in the digital space of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In addition, it was confirmed that the R&D PIE could be replaced or enhanced as a platform for innovation in response to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, thereby providing an alternative to job creation and an escape from economic crisis.

SHD Digital Cinema Distribution over a Fast Long-Distance Network

  • We have developed a prototype super-high-definition (SHD) digital cinema distribution system that can store, transmit, and display eight-million-pixel motion pictures that have the image quality of a 35-mm film movie. The system contains a movie server, a real-time decoder, and an SHB projector. Using a Gigabit Ethernet link and TCP/IP, the server transmits JPEG2000 compressed motion picture data streams to the decoder at transmission speeds as high as 300 Mbps. The received data streams are decompressed by the decoder, and then projected onto a screen via the projector. By using an enlarged TCP window, multiple TCP streams, and a shaping function to control the data transmission quantity, we achieved real-time streaming of SHD movie data at about 300 Mbps between Chicago and Los Angeles, a distance of more than 3000 km. We also improved the decoder performance to show movies with Image qualities of 450 Mbps or higher. Since UDP is more suitable than TCP for fast long-distance streaming, we have developed an SHD digital cinema UDP relay system, in which UDP is used for transmission over a fast long-distance network. By using four pairs of server-side-proxy and decoder-side-proxy, 450-Mbps movie data streams could be transmitted.

  • Within the article, forms of innovation structures are systematized, and those that exist in Ukraine are identified, their features, purpose and functions are clarified, activities and current state of their functioning are analyzed. It is proved that in the conditions of digital economy, domestic innovation structures are underdeveloped and do not fulfill their leading role at the present stage of innovative development of the country. To understand the importance of effective operation of innovation infrastructure, the main world models of innovation development are considered, and the directions of using the experience of their functioning for Ukraine are determined. The main indicators of innovation activity of Ukraine in the context of regions are analyzed. There is a significant differentiation of innovation indicators in the regional context. The cartographic analysis of innovative activity of regions is presented. The mechanism of definition and implementation of priority directions of innovative activity in the context of the digital economy development is offered.

  • This paper examined the leapfrogging of Korean Digital TV Industry in the midst of digital Revolution. Despite the lack of sufficient capability and core knowledge base, the Korean firms succeeded in the catching up forerunner firms in the Digital TV industry. The reasons of the success of Korean firms were as follows. Firstly, the Korean firms had some complementary asset, such as the experience of producing analog TV, and were able to develop the prototype digital TV given the accesses to the foreign knowledge via overseas R&D posts and acquisition of a foreign company. Secondly, the Korean firms were not locked in the analog technologies. As a follower, they had little sunk cost on the existing analog technologies. Thirdly, New mode of innovation, such as National R&D program for the development of HDTV and ASIC, were used as a tool for the mobilization of scarce knowledge base of digital technologies and the sharing the risks of development of path-breaking new technologies.

Decision-Makings of CoPS Innovation Strategy, Power and Dominant Design - the Case of SKT and KTF

  • This study aims at examining each firm's decision-makings of complex product and system (hereafter CoPS) innovation strategy, so that it tries to reveal the nature and role of CoPS innovations strategy. And it designed a comparative case study along with qualitative methods, by having two mobile operators' digital rights management (hereafter DRM) innovation in South Korea's digital music service industry. Through literature review, this study formulated three research propositions: (i) Each firm's decision-makings of CoPS innovations strategy are analytical negotiation process among economic actors in an industry; (ii) Each firm's market power originated from its market share from the installed base through network effect and switching cost influence decision-makings of CoPS innovation strategies; (iii) Each firm's decision-makings of different CoPS innovation strategies are related to their intension of achieving better market power, consequently dominant design. Through empirical examination of two mobile operators' decision-makings of DRM innovation strategy, this study empirically verified three research propositions.

  • Local decentralization and administration innovation is the most important problem the government confronted with at the present time. So local government must be follow them. Therefore, local government need to prepare whole process on this. From now on, local government must be develop own innovation model and strategy then, forward with innovation plan classified by step. This study reviewed the significance and necessary of local administration innovation and examined the necessary of level diagnosis of local administration innovation. And We diagnosed administration innovation of C province, then analyzed the result and proposed Altitude plans of administration innovation.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore conquest plans of the barrier and resistance in innovation management. In addition, this study is to describe the model of innovation resistance that reflects adoption process stages and identify the factors that drive the resistance of consumers and the barriers. Whenever organizations try to plan and implement some kind of innovation in organizations, they confront the resistance and barriers in many ways. By understanding innovation resistance and barrier, organizations can not only design better innovations but can develop strategies to reduce resistance and conquer the barriers. Thus they accelerate innovation. Also, these results indicate that people resist innovation strongly when it betrays their value, needs and beliefs or when they felt the pressure on self-conviction and mental risk, loss, and lack of knowledge. Understanding the factors that drive the innovation resistance and barrier has important implications for both theoretical development and managerial action.
