The recent trend shows that the number of internet users among older adults and their level of the ability to use internet have been increased. The purpose of this study is to investigate the phenomenon of senior information technology. Using qualitative descriptive method, this study aims to explore how and in which context older adults use internet. It also aims to address the nature and the outcomes of elderly people's use of internet in their daily lives. In-depth interviews with 16 older participants were analyzed with qualitative content analysis and constant comparison method. The finding shows as follows: (1) agonies felt by the "ambiguous" age group in the modern society, (2) the analogue generation joining the digital, (3) daily changes according to the internet use, (4) senior information technology and its flip side of coin. Based on the research findings, implications for senior information policy are addressed in three ways: promoting productive use of internet among older adults, meeting their health-related concerns using internet, and finding ways to integrate the idea of humanities into senior information technology.

The core of the Fourth Industrial revolution, the topic of the 21st century, lies in the convergence of various technologies that are developing to the cutting edge. Therefore, convergence education is essential to solve problems from various perspectives. Above all, in order to solve the complex problem arising from the contact point between humans and technology in the future society, it was considered that insight through a humanities and artistic approach was necessary. Now, universities are trying to run a multidisciplinary comprehensive design to adapt to the new digital environment. In this study, an operation case of an engineering comprehensive design subject incorporating art operated by a researcher was described. The researcher presented an art convergence curriculum in a comprehensive design subject by applying 1. problem recognition and definition, 2. idea derivation and evaluation, 3. project development, 4. presentation, and demonstration process operation methods. Through this study, it is meaningful that it presented a method of operating art convergence in engineering comprehensive design subjects by allowing students to attempt an artistic aesthetic and emotional approach to project development.

Development of 5th generation mobile telecommunication technology is visualizing ideal hyper-connected social information and communication technology (ICT). In particular, virtual reality (VR) technology is at the starting point for new expansion and leaps. This work defines virtual reality as media in this context and collects and analyzes discourse on its scalability around space and communication theory. We first elaborated the concept, starting with the early discussions of the virtual reality concept in 1990, and discussed the relationship between the physical world and digital information, expression and interaction immersion as a medium, simulation, art creation theory, and finally evolutionary development. In conclusion, beyond the discourse on the technology of virtual reality, academic subjects were required to have theoretical frameworks on cognitive science, neuroscience, social science, and humanities issues (ethics, personality, etc.) for the development and evolution of virtual reality. In other words, it is time for the evolution of virtual reality to be discussed, which can be moved beyond.

The purpose of this study is to determine how the Korean diphthong /jo/ shows phonetic variation in various linguistic environments. The pronunciation of /jo/ is discussed, focusing on the relationship between phonetic variation and the distribution range of vowels. The location in a word (monosyllable, word-initial, word-medial, word-final) and word class (content word, function word) were analyzed using the speech of 10 female speakers of the Seoul Corpus. As a result of determining the frequency of appearance of /jo/ in each environment, the pronunciation type and word class were affected by the location in a word. Frequent phonetic reduction was observed in the function word /jo/ in the acoustic analysis. The word class did not change the average phonetic values of /jo/, but changed the distribution of individual tokens. These results indicate that the linguistic environment affects the phonetic distribution of vowels.

Traditional ODA to North Korea (NK) has been unsustainable and politically contentious. This study proposes the design of appropriate technology (AT) as an alternative. We identified NK residents' urgent needs and global AT instances, and classified data by Maslow's hierarchy of needs. As electricity and potable water were identified as primary needs, suitable AT cases were selected. Given NK's extreme isolation, collaborative AT practices with local residents are unfeasible. Therefore we propose a new AT adoption model customized to NK, which emphasizes community-level adoption. We proposed a solar charging station for cooperative farms, a re-design of an AT previously utilized in Africa, and tailored it to fit our proposed model. The study's significance lies in its novel AT adoption model for NK's unique social fabric and the proposition of a specific design case, thus transcending previous relevant studies exploring AT's potential for NK.

The purpose of this study is to analyze and compare UX factors of connectivity systems of domestic and overseas car brands. Using a text mining analysis, UX factors of domestic and overseas brands were compared through positive-negative sentiment index. After collecting 120,000 reviews on Hyundai Motor Group (Hyundai, Kia, Genesis) and 190,000 on Tesla, BMW, and Mercedes, pre-processing was performed. Keywords were classified into 11 UX factors in 3 dimensions of the system connection, information, and service. For domestic brands, sentiment index for 'safety' was the highest. For overseas brands, 'entertainment' was the most positive UX factor.

Various decipherment technologies, including manual rubbing, have been continuously applied to the Goguryeo Stele in Chungju. However, an official document for advanced decipherment is required as there remain characters to be deciphered. This study focuses on interdisciplinary digital decipherment using digital visualization results based on reflectance transformation imaging and three-dimensional scanning. On that basis, the joint decipherment document in 2019 is classified into eight types according to character changes from 1979 to 2000, and decipherment achievements are discussed. Important outcomes of the joint decipherment document include a new interpretation of four existing characters and the identification of 28 new characters. Additionally, 68 characters on the front face and 20 on the left face, which are listed differently in previous decipherment documents, are determined to be a single character through a consensus process. Compared to the previous decipherment document, the "decision" character is increased by a total of 89 characters (22.6%), and the "different opinion" character is decreased by 126 characters (32.0%). Thus, this digital decipherment greatly contributes to the reexamination of the Goguryeo Stele in Chungju and complements the previous decipherment document through reflectance transformation imaging and three-dimensional scanning. However, continuous research is necessary to enhance decipherment rates, since 123 characters (31.3%) are yet to receive decipherment. In the future, decipherment advancement regarding the Goguryeo Stele in Chungju should be based on convergence research between the humanities and science. Furthermore, it seems that researchers must make constant efforts to apply new imaging analysis technology and to develop customized technology for decipherment.

In this article, how the Bangmok(榜目) documents, which are essentially lists of successful passers for the civil competitive examination system of the $Chos{\breve{o}}n$ dynasty, when rendered into digitalized formats, could serve as source of information, which would not only lets us know the $Chos{\breve{o}}n$ individuals' social backgrounds and bloodlines but also enables us to understand the intricate nature that the Yangban network had, will be discussed. In digitalized humanity studies, the Bangmok materials, literally a list of leading elites of the $Chos{\breve{o}}n$ period, constitute a very interesting and important source of information. Based upon these materials, we can see how the society -as well as the Yangban community- was like. Currently, all data inside these Bangmok lists are rendered in XML(eXtensible Makrup Language) format and are being served through DBMS(Database Management System), so anyone who would want to examine the statistics could freely do so. Also, by connecting the data in these Bangmok materials with data from genealogy records, we could identify an individual's marital relationship, home town, and political affiliation, and therefore create a complex narrative that would be effective in describing that individual's life in particular. This is a graphic database, which shows-when Bangmok data is punched in-successful passers as individual nodes, and displays blood and marital relations in a very visible way. Clicking upon the nodes would provide you with access to all kinds of relationships formed among more than 90 thousand successful passers, and even the overall marital network, once the genealogical data is input. In Korea, since 2005 and through now, the task of digitalizing data from the Civil exam Bangmok(Mun-gwa Bangmok), Military exam Bangmok (Mu-gwa Bangmok), the "Sa-ma" Bangmok and "Jab-gwa" Bangmok materials, has been completed. They can be accessed through a website(http://people.aks.ac.kr/index.aks) which has information on numerous famous past Korean individuals. With this kind of source of information, we are now able to extract professional Jung-in figures from these lists. However, meaningful and practical studies using this data are yet to be announced. This article would like to remind everyone that this information should be used as a window through which we could see not only the lives of individuals, but also the society.

What is 'analyzing a movie'? And, what is 'its role in film studies'? The question required a systematic and scholarly answer, and filmologie was making a clear place for itself. Through psychology, aesthetics, text theories and of course semiotics, the conceptualization of 'film' has been formed. Deleuze, who has been continually writing about 'movies' in his philosophical essays, ended the debate in defining the relationship between 'image and essence' when he released 《Movie 1, Movement-Image》 in 1983. 'Film' rapidly became the topic of the century and became a 'device' that leads the way of thinking. The reason why Jean-Louis Boissier labeled this 'film' as 'device (le dispositif)' was not part of film studies. What should be noted is that the mention of 'film' became a key part of the debate of 'reproduction', which was the most popular subject of philosophy and humanities. In the digital era, the film is once again questioned about its definition. In retrospect, themes of core debates of 'History of cinema' have always been driven by simple and superficial technological changes. With the emergence of CG (Computer Graphics), the question of 'cinema' in the 21st century is not only a philosophical discussion on the problem of 'reproduction', but also a crucial change that shifted the focus of the debate on the nature of the film from 'production' to 'distribution'.

This study analyzes the social integration policy of migrants in Australia and draws implications for Korea. To do this, we first analyzed the literature on the social integration of immigrants in Australia and the Ministry of Justice report. Based on this, I have found out the policy implications for the Korean government on the social integration policy of the Australian government. First, the Australian government's social integration program emphasizes participation in social integration programs for humanitarian migrants, who need more help than other migrants. In Korea, the humanitarian integration program for migrants is very poor. Therefore, it is necessary to raise interest in active social integration of migrants through interest and consideration of humanitarian migrants like the Australian government. Second, the Australian government's social integration policies and programs are mainly established by the Australian Immigration Border Protection Department and the Social Welfare Department, but the implementation of the program is mainly conducted by local governments and emphasizes their role. In our case, we should give more authority to the local government's social integration policy and make them operate various programs according to local characteristics.
