  • As the Internet becomes a part of the infrastructure of the world, so will the process of creating useful digital libraries become an important part of our society. Previous generations of Internet were focused mainly on the technology. Today the focus has shifted to searching information usefully over the intelligent Digital Library. However the tension between new technologies and daily information needs was never resolved but was significantly noted by many researches. Recent findings show us to gain some feeling for the balancing act in information systems between technological and sociological factors. They shows that consideration in sociology is needed for the sound deployment after installation of digital library systems. This study focused on the importance of effects of non-technical factors for the new DL service period. Experiences and documents in the first generation DL period were scrutinized and analysed systematically. As a result, we find new idea, socio-technical approaches to the new DL services.

  • Due to the growth of embedded systems and the development of semi-conductor and storage devices, digital convergence devises is ever growing. Digital convergence devices are equipments into which various functions such as communication, playing movies and wave files and electronic dictionarys are integrated. Example are portable multimedia players(PMPs), personal digital assistants(PDAs), and smart phones. Therefore, these devices need an efficient file system which manages and controls various types of files. In designing such file systems, the size constraint for small embedded systems as well as performance and compatibility should be taken into account. In this paper, we suggest the partial buffer cache technique. Contrary to the traditional buffer cache, the partial buffer cache is used for only the FAT meta data and write-only data. Simulation results show that we could enhance the write performance more than 30% when the file size is larger than about 100 KBytes.

  • Recently, More and more consumer enjoy the finance service such as settling, account transferring, stocks investment, and so via mobile device. In the mobile environment, data transferring between the devices is formatted as XML. However, the common XML file is exposed to the attack such as hacking and malignity code, to satisfy security of mobile environment is very difficult. The problem is more seriously at the open platform such as WIPI that is developed by our country. So there is enough reason to propose one system to protect the import data. In this paper, we development the system to digital signature and signature the XML document in order to protect data, and the system is observing the recommendation of the XML Signature Syntax and Processing by W3C. When designing and composition the system, we use the digital signature algorithm RSA, DSA, KCDSA, and HMAC, etc. we test the system at the open WIPI platform.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the research trends and the present conditions of real digital texts on "Visual Transformation." For the purpose of this study adopted two different methods: meta analysis and case study. The research trends on visual transformation of digital text were investigated through analyzing the total of 167 literature by means of synthetic meta analysis. Relevant literature was categorized into three types of research: functional, dynamic, and interactional transformation. The type of literature and research methods in each literature were analyzed. The present conditions of real digital texts on visual transformation were investigated by means of case study. The well designed 12 e-learning contents selected and analyzed in terms of the analysis framework which was drawn by the research trends. The results suggested problems as follows in designing e-learning contents. Firstly, there were some cases that did not follow the basic design principles related to typography. Secondly, the content was just provided in each learning steps without consideration of design to enhance text comprehension in many cases. Thirdly, web technology adequately was not applied to design e-learning contents.

  • In this paper, we design and analyze digital retrodirective array antenna (RDA) system in 60GHz wireless communication for low power consumption and high quality. Digital RDA can automatically make beam toward source without information about the direction of incoming signal, this system is able to do low power communication thanks to increased signal to interference noise ratio (SINR) because making the beam toward source can reduce interference signals. The frequency offset seriously arises when millimetric wave band like 60GHz is used to communicate for high-speed transmission. The proposed system is robustly designed to frequency offset through designing digital phase lock loop in order to solve the problem of frequency offset. In this paper, we analyze the performance of the proposed system according to the number of array antenna and frequency offset. striking space.

  • As makerspaces continue to be introduced in academic libraries in Korea, this study explores potential operating strategies of, and long-term justifications for, makerspaces as digital literacy eduational spaces and services at academic libraries. By examining related literature reviews and case studies of makerspaces, this study analyzes various programs and their respective creation, funding, development, and outcomes, including educational value and library-specific goals such as digital literacy and lifelong learning. This study also considers the perspectives of librarians at academic libraries in Korea who were asked about the purpose, impact, and limitations of makerspaces. Certain common themes appear: for example, it is necessary for makerspaces to resolve challenges related to stable funding, as well as staffing and training of professional librarians assisting with the on-the-ground operation of makerspaces. This study proposes that designing makerspaces for an academic library setting goes deeper than providing a collaborative environment with access to new technologies like 3D printers and laser cutters, and it may be uniquely appropriate to draw connections to libraries' objectives to provide digital literacy education and universities' mission to foster innovation and creativity among students.

  • This study examines the effects of CBDC(Central Bank Digital Currency) on the Korean economy in the digital currency era and discusses the response strategies for CBDC. With the review of the definition and the development status of digital currency, we explore the characteristics and current status of CBDC in Korea as well as the possibility for internationalization of CBDC. The result shows that CBDC can reduce credit risk, improve transaction transparency compared to cash, and increases monetary policy capacity. Meanwhile, the credit and intermediary function of financial institutions may be weakened, and side effects such as financial alienation may occur. Nevertheless, as the issuance of CBDC is an important opportunity to enhance the possibility of internationalization of Korean Won, preemptive measures are required to keep pace with the competition and cooperation with each country toward the digital key currency. We need to accelerate the digital financial environment through Korea's comparative advantage, and develop a strategy to achieve the internationalization of the financial industry and the Korean Won through CBDC issuance. From the early stage of CBDC designing, it is necessary to achieve international agreements through cooperation with other central banks and to develop policies suitable for the transition to digital currency.
