The Change of Interior Orientation Parameters in Zoom Lens Digital Cameras (줌렌즈 디지털 카메라의 내부표정요소 변화)

  • Recently, as digital photogrammetry bas been widely used in various fields including construction, it is also being applied to several industries. It is essential for interior orientation to determine accurate focal length of camera, lens distortion, location of principal point in order to apply high quality digital camera to digital photogrammetry. In this study we conducted interior orientation for zoom lens camera with regular time and zoom factors and analyzed change of radial distortion parameters and location of principal point to evaluate interior orientation stability. As a result, radial distortion parameters($k_1,k_2$) are converged into zero by increasing zoom factors. There are correlation between the change of location of point and zoom factors. The displacement of $x_p$, $y_p$ increase as zoom factors rise high.

  • Smoke generated from business establishments and factories will not only cause air pollution but also have a significant impact on the human body. Generally, the most common method for measuring the turbidity of the plume generated from the stack is a method of observing by the transmissometer mounted in the chimney or Method 9 from the US EPA(Environmental Protection Agency) which is a visual method of determining plume turbid emitted from stationary sources. However, these methods need a lot of cost to build and maintain. In this paper, we build a plume turbidity measurement module programs using a digital camera. We design and implement a module which acquires the pictures of the plume using a digital camera and measures the turbidity of it using the DOM(Digital Optical Method). In addition, we demonstrate the excellence by comparing and analyzing implemented module and other methods.

  • In this paper a new approach of digitalized ‘Takbon’ is introduced. By image signal processing, the letters which were written on stones can be deciphered. Epigraphic letter is detected by digital image device, digital camera. The two dimensional digital image is preprocessed because of sensor noise and detective turbulence. Color image is transformed into grey level. The letter image is analyzed in time/frequency domain. By the resultant analysis data decisive functions are calculated. Signal Processing techniques, such as scaling, clipping, digital negative, high/low filter, morphology and so on, provide algorithms that can extract letter from stones.

Generation of Digital Orthoimage using ADS40 Images (ADS40영상에 의한 수치정사영상 생성)

  • In this paper, the acquisition of digital imagery and the orthoimage generation were performed to set up working process. And another purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the accuracy of orthoimage by overlapping digital topographic map and digital cadastral map on it. The digital topographic map and digital cadastral map were superimposed on the orthoimage to check the accuracy as another approach of evaluation. The RMSE is ${\pm}0.364m$ in X direction and ${\pm}0.413m$ in Y direction with digital topographical maps(1/5,000). And the RMSE is ${\pm}1.283m$ in X direction and ${\pm}1.085m$ in Y direction with digital cadastral map. It is necessary for the application of a newly developed digital aerial camera to make an exact synchronization between GPS/IMU data and image data, use a technology for setting a standard image resolution and the number of ground control points.

Effects of Food Consumption Monitoring Using a Camera-Phone on Body Weight and Serum Lipid Level in Obese Female College Students (비만여대생을 대상으로 카메라폰을 이용한 음식섭취 모니터링 강화에 의한 체중 및 혈청지질 감소 효과)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of food consumption monitoring using a camera-phone in a weight control program. Twenty-six female college students (>30% body fat) were randomly assigned to the camera-phone and diary (CD) group or diary (D) only group. During the 8-week weight control program, the CD group controlled their food consumption using a camera-phone, in which they took a food picture and uploaded it to the homepage. However, the D group used only a diary to record their food intake. The mean energy intake of the CD group during the program was 1451.9 kcal while that of the D group was 1524.3 kcal. The total energy intakes of both groups significantly decreased during the program. The CD group lost 5.2 kg of body weight and 3.1% body fat while the D group lost 2.2 kg of body weight and 1.1% body fat. The body weight and fat levels significantly decreased in the CD group compared to the D group. The triglyceride, total-cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol levels of the CD group as well as the total-cholesterol level of the D group significantly decreased during the program. The total-cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol levels both significantly decreased in the CD group compared to the D group. In this study, it was concluded that digital photography method using a camera-phone might influence weight control through trained consumption monitoring, which helps individuals reduce discrepancies between perceived and actual consumption levels.

  • Recently studies about audio-visual immersion are being carried out due to development of digital video but studies analysing quantitatively the content or climax of video has not carried out. The paper is analysed quantitatively by using shot size, camera angle, camera direction and camera position, objective & subjective which is general component of video expression. We can see the climax effects in the video destroying the principles because there is a rule when they use the component. This thesis analyses shot-list based on video expression in existing movies therefore it can analyse quantitatively several method commonly used in order to make the climax. These suggesting method that can find the part of climax based on analysis of shot-list can be used when you search the specific part of video like long movie or when you search the genre of the movie or when you index the genre. Also it can be very effective in various information services companies offering climax movie which is searched.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest Vergence Information Extracting Algorithm(VIEA) which enables quick and accurate vergence information achievement for automation of vergence and focus control of horizontal moving stereoscopic camera. Firstly, for this purpose, the geometric structure of horizontal moving stereoscopic camera device was analyzed and linear relation between the vergence and the focus control. Then stereoscopic camera was designed and produced with the application of vergence and focus relation formula. Finally, VIEA that uses Cepstrum filter was employed to implement Automatic Vergence and Focus Controlling Stereoscopic Camera System(AVFCSCS). VIEA showed lower vergence achievement time and error ratio in comparison with existing algorithms. The suggested system in this study substantially reduced the controlling time and error-ratio as to make it possible to achieve natural and clear images. It also simplified the handling of stereoscopic camera for the convenience of end-users.

  • People have been interested in the next generation media and service over 3D by development of 3D industry and generalization of 3D-related content and equipment in recent year. Many researchers predict that a strong candidate is digital hologram. Holographic technology is classified to capture(or generation), processing, and display(or reconstruction). This paper discusses the digital holographic display system using hybrid image pickup system and proposes a new structure of digital holographic display system. Through the proposed method a digital hologram can be scalably serviced according to display equipments with various resolutions, computing power of decoding part, and network bandwidth.

  • In this paper, we analyze the degradation of receiving sensitivity due to the coupling between digital noise and mobile handset antenna using characteristic mode. First, we analyze the coupling mechanism between the antenna and digital noise, and analyze the role of the decoupling capacitor of the ground signal line, which is one of the ways to improve the antenna receiving sensitivity degradation due to camera noise. For the analysis, the digital signal line and the ground line of the FPCB of the camera module are modeled as a loop type feeder that excites the characteristic mode of the PCB ground, and improved model which has a ground line with a capacitor are analyzed.
