  • This paper presents the robust stability analysis and design methodology of the fuzzy feedback linearization control systems. Uncertainty and disturbances with known bounds are assumed to be included in the Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy models representing the nonlinear plants. $L_2$ robust stability of the closed system is analyzed by casting the systems into the diagonal norm bounded linear differential inclusions (DNLDI) formulation. Based on the linear matrix inequality (LMI) optimization programming, a numerical method for finding the maximum stable ranges of the fuzzy feedback linearization control gains is also proposed. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, the robust stability analysis and control design examples are given.

  • A new signal process circuit using two ISFETs as the input devices of the MOS differential amplifier stage for an ISFET biosensor has been developed. One chip integration of the newly developed signal process circuit, ISFETs and a Pt quasi-reference electrode has been carried out according to modified LOCOS p-well CMOS process. The fabricated chip showed gains of 0.8 and 1.6, good liniarity in the input-output relationship and very small power dissipation, 4mW. The chip was applied to realize a urea sensor by forming an immobilized urease membrane, using lift-off technique. on the gate of an ISFET. The urea sensor chip showed stable responses in a wide range of urea concentrations.

  • This paper presents a maneuvering target model with the maneuver dynamics modeled as a jump process of Poisson-type. The jump process represents the deterministic maneuver(or pilot commands) and is described by a stochastic differential equation driven by a Poisson process taking values a set of discrete states. Employing the new maneuver model along with the noisy observations described by linear difference equations, the author has developed a new linear, recursive, unbiased minimum variance filter, which is structurally simple, computationally efficient, and hence real-time implementable. Futhermore, the proposed filter does not involve a computationally burdensome technique to compute the filter gains and corresponding covariance matrices and still be able to track effectively a fast maneuvering target. The performance of the proposed filter is assessed through the numerical results generated from the Monte-Carlo simulation.

  • Ambient ionization can be achieved by generating an electrospray directly from plant tissue ("leaf spray"). The resulting mass spectra are characteristic of ionizable phytochemicals in the plant material. By subtracting the leaf spray spectra recorded from the petals of two hibiscus species H. moscheutos and H. syriacus one gains rapid access to the metabolites that differ most in the two petals. One such compound was identified as the sambubioside of quercitin (or delphinidin) while others are known flavones. Major interest centered on a $C_{19}H_{29}NO_5$ compound that occurs only in the large H. moscheutos bloom. Attempts were made to characterize this compound by mass spectrometry alone as a test of such an approach. This showed that the compound is an alkaloid, assigned to the polyhydroxylated pyrrolidine class, and bound via a $C_3$ hydrocarbon unit to a monoterpene.

  • In this paper, CMOS RF front-end circuits for an L1/L5 dual-band global positioning system (GPS)/Galileo receiver are designed in $0.13\;{\mu}m$ CMOS technology. The RF front-end circuits are composed of an RF single-to-differential low noise amplifier, an RF polyphase filter, two down-conversion mixers, two transimpedance amplifiers, a IF polyphase filter, four de-coupling capacitors. The CMOS RF front-end circuits provide gains of 43 dB and 44 dB, noise figures of 4 dB and 3 dB and consume 3.6 mW and 4.8 mW from 1.2 V supply voltage for L1 and L5, respectively.

  • This paper presents guidance and control laws which guarantee a minimum fuel consumption and have obustness against various disturbances during a terminal-landing phase on the lunar surface. The nonlinear robust tracking control system is designed to track the reference profiles, which are expressed by exponential functions. An adjustment law in the tracking controller is given in the form of the differential equations with respect to the controller´s variable gains. Computer simulations are performed to examine the tracking accuracy, the robustness in a thrust failure mode, and the vertical soft landing at a pre-assigned point on the lunar surface. The results of numerical simulation show the effectiveness of the present control law.

  • This study investigates the mobilizing function of political agreement and disagreement in communition mediated by social media. Analyses of a survey found that reception of news consistent with individual political predispositions through social networking sites (SNS) positively related to political participation, whereas reception of counterattitudinal news was unrelated. Similarly, SNS- based discussion with politically agreeing others predicted political participation, whereas discussion with disagreeing people did not contribute to participation. Moreover, attitude-consistent news reception and agreement in political discussion had interactive influences, as the effects of attitude-consistent news on participation become stronger with increases in discussion with agreement. The results suggest that the mobilizing effects of social media mainly work through political agreement rather than disagreement in communication.

  • This paper provides experimental results of an excitation control system of the synchronous generator on board ships in accordance with rules of classification society to make sure its performance. The experiment compares and reviews control results between PID control and fuzzy logic control applied to change of loads of the generator in order to make sure to satisfy the rules of classification society. Both of them are written by Labview program. In case of PID Control, this paper firstly adjusts the gains by ultimate sensitive method and the gains is more tuned by engineer's experience. And the fuzzy logic controller uses Mamdani method to make membership function for error between reference voltage and measuring voltage, differential error rate and output voltage. This paper is to make sure the experimental results of the proposed excitation control system applied to actual small synchronous generator with PID control and fuzzy logic written by using Labview program and it is proved on stability and improvement through experiments.

  • A TC-16ADPSK scheme for transmitting different kinds of information simultaneously is proposed in this paper. The scheme is designed for simultaneously transmitting two kinds of Information on one channel. In signal mapping, a data of two kinds of information is used to phase modulation on Star-16APSK constellation and the other to amplitude modulation. In detection, each data independently recovers from mixing signal on each detector Therefore, we can transmit two kinds of Information on one channel can be transmitted efficiently. BER performance of the proposed scheme is analyzed on AWGN channel and Rayleigh fading channels on a computer with Matlab communication toolbox. On same SNR, the Gray code mapping has more 0.5-1.5dB coding gains than Ungerboeck's code mapping gains.
