This describes the formulation for the free vibration of joined conical-cylindrical shells with uniform thickness using the transfer of influence coefficient. This method was developed based on successive transmission of dynamic influence coefficients, which were defined as the relationships between the displacement and the force vectors at arbitrary nodal circles of the system. The two edges of the shell having arbitrary boundary conditions are supported by several elastic springs with meridional/axial, circumferential, radial and rotational stiffness, respectively. The governing equations of vibration of a conical shell, including a cylindrical shell, are written as a coupled set of first order differential equations by using the transfer matrix of the shell. Once the transfer matrix of a single component has been determined, the entire structure matrix is obtained by the product of each component matrix and the joining matrix. The natural frequencies and the modes of vibration were calculated numerically for joined conical-cylindrical shells. The validity of the present method is demonstrated through simple numerical examples, and through comparison with the results of previous researchers.
Vulnerable road users such as bike, motorcycle, small automobiles, and etc. are easily attacked or threatened with bigger vehicles than them. So this paper suggests a new approach two-wheelers detection system riding on people based on modified histogram of oriented gradients (HOGs) which is weighted by curvature and local correlation coefficient. This correlation coefficient between two variables, in which one is the person riding a bike and other is its background, can represent correlation relation. First, we extract edge vectors using the curvature of Gaussian and Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) which includes gradient information and differential magnitude as cell based. And then, the value, which is calculated by the correlation coefficient between the area of each cell and one of bike, can be used as the weighting factor in process for normalizing the HOG cell. This paper applied the Adaboost algorithm to make a strong classification from weak classification. The experimental results validate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm show higher than that of the traditional method and under challenging, such as various two-wheeler postures, complex background, and even conclusion.
The relationship between precipitation and coefficient of thermal expansion of Al-6%Si-0.4%Mg-0.9%Cu-(Ti) alloy (in wt.%) after various heat treatments were studied by the thermodynamic analyzer (TMA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Solution heat treatment of the alloy was carried out at 535℃ for 6 h followed by water quenching, and the samples were artificially aged in the air at 180℃ and 220℃ for 5 h. The coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) curve showed some residual strain and decreased with increasing aging temperature. The CTE curves changed sharply in the temperature range of 200℃ to 400℃, and the corresponding peak shifted for the aged samples due to the change in the precipitation behavior of the secondary phase. These transformation peaks in the aged sample are related to the volume of the precipitation of the Si phase as determined by DSC analysis. The change in CTE is mainly caused by the precipitation of the Si phase in the Al-Si alloy, and the size of the change occurs simultaneously with the size of the precipitate.
There has been a deep interest in trying to find better-performing fuel clad motivated by the desire to decrease the likelihood of the reactor barrier failure like what happened in Fukushima in recent years. In this study, the effect of move towards accident tolerant fuel (ATF) cladding as the most attracting concept for improving reactor safety is investigated for SMART modular reactor. These reactors have less production cost, short construction time, better safety and higher power density. The SiC and FeCrAl materials are considered as the most potential candidate for ATF cladding, and the results are compared with Zircaloy cladding material from reactor physics point of view. In this paper, the calculations are performed by generating PMAX library by DRAGON lattice physics code to be used for further reactor core analysis by PARCS code. The differential and integral worth of control and safety rods, reactivity coefficient, power and temperature distributions, and boric acid concentration during the cycle are analyzed and compared from the conventional fuel cladding. The rod ejection accident (REA) is also performed to study how the power changed in response to presence of the ATF cladding in the reactor core. The key quantitative finding can be summarized as: 20 ℃ (3%) decrease in average fuel temperature, 33 pcm (3%) increase in integral rod worth and cycle length, 1.26 pcm/℃ (50%) and 1.05 pcm/℃ (16%) increase in reactivity coefficient of fuel and moderator, respectively.

We developed a prototype from the design of a trim, which is the most important in the localization development of a 1500 Ib high-differential pressure-control valve used for boiler feedwater, and measured the flow coefficient, the most basic design data for valves. The following conclusions were drawn. The comparison of the design values of the flow coefficients for the existing X-trim and the multicore trim designed for localization development showed that they were almost identical, and the X-trim value was slightly lower. The comparison of the X-trim and multicore trim based on the valve flow coefficient test showed that they were generally similar, indicating no problem with the design. In the future, we plan to compare and analyze the flow paths for the X-trim and multicore trim via flow analysis.
The valve assembly used in nuclear power plants is important safety-related equipment. In the new standard, the physical attributes are measured using a valve diagnosis test, which is used in the expansion to other non-tested valves using a quantitative test-basis methodology. With a motor-operated actuator, the state of stem's lubrication is related to physical attributes such as the stem factor and the friction coefficient. This study analyzed the numerical transient of fluid and solid lubrication with a squeeze film effect due to the loading rate on the stem and the stem nut using the experimental data. The differential equation that governs the motion mechanism of the stem and stem nut is established and analyzed. The flow rate, the fluid and the solid contact forces are calculated with the friction coefficient. Finally, we found that a change in the friction coefficient results from a change of the shear force in the solid contact mode during the interchange process between the solid contact mode and the fluid contact mode. The qualitative understanding of the squeeze film effect is expanded quantitatively for forces, thread surface distance, velocity, and acceleration, with consideration of the metal solid contact and fluid contact.
The long-term performance of plates resting on viscoelastic foundations is a major concern in the analysis of soil-structure interaction. As a powerful mathematical tool, fractional calculus may address these plate-on-foundation problems. In this paper, a fractionalized Zener model is proposed to study the time-dependent behavior of a uniformly loaded rectangular thin foundation plate. By use of the viscoelastic-elastic correspondence principle and the Laplace transforms, the analytical solutions were obtained in terms of the Mittag-Leffler function. Through the analysis of a numerical example, the calculated plate deflection, bending moment and foundation reaction were compared to those from ideal elastic and standard viscoelastic models. It is found that the upper and lower bound solutions of the plate response estimated by the proposed model can be determined using the elastic model. Based on a parametric study, the impacts of model parameters on the long-term performance of a foundation plate were systematically investigated. The results show that the two spring stiffnesses govern the upper and lower bound solutions of the plate response. By varying the values of the fractional differential order and the coefficient of viscosity, the time-dependent behavior of a foundation plate can be accurately captured. The fractional differential order seems to be dependent on the mechanical properties of the ground soil. A sandy foundation will have a small fractional differential order while in order to simulate the creeping of clay foundation, a larger fractional differential order value is needed. The fractionalized Zener model is capable of accounting for the primary and secondary consolidation processes of the foundation soil and can be used to predict the plate performance over many decades of time.

A novel 200 MHz CMOS transconductor using translinear cells is proposed. The proposed transconductor consists of voltage followers and current followers based on translinear cells and a resistor. For wide applications, a single-input single-output, a single-Input differential-output, and a fully-differential transconductor are systematically designed, respectively. The theory of operation is described and computer simulation results are used to verify theoretical predictions. The results show that the fully-differential transconductor has a linear input voltage range of ${\pm}2.7$ V, a 3 dB frequency of 200 MHz, and a temperature coefficient of less than 41 $ppm/^{\circ}C$ at supply voltages of ${\pm}3$ V. In order to certify the applicability of the fully-differential transconductor, A ladder-type 3th-order cllitic low pass filter is also designed based on the inductance simulation method. The filter has a ripple bandwidth of 22 MHz, a pass-band ripple of 0.36 dB, and a cutoff frequency of 26 MHz.
In this paper, we propose a new quadtree coding a1gorithm to improve the performance of the old one. The new algorithm can process any frame of size in standard and reduce encoding and decoding time by decreasing computational load. It also improves the image quality comparing with any old quantizer based on quadtree and zerotree structure. In order for the new algorithm to be applied for real video codec, we analyze the statistical characteristics of coefficients of differential image and add a function that makes It deal with an arbitrary size of image by using new technique while the old one process by block unit. We can also improve the image quality by scaling the coefficient's value from a differential image. By comparing the performance of the new algorithm with quadtree and SPIHT, it Is shown that PSNR is improved, that the computational load is not reduced in encoding and decoding.
This study simulated the range of golf ball with different projection angles using a drive swing condition. For the simulation purpose, the differential equation of dynamics was induced by using Bernoulli's principle and average back spin frequency, instant velocity, and dimple of golf ball from amateur group, professional group, and Tiger Woods were chosen as the initial condition. The study result indicated that lift coefficient($C_{lift}$) relative to drag coefficient ($C_d$), 0.3 of differential equation was applied differently in terms of back spin Sequency, and when $C_{lift}$ was 0.4 for amateur, 0.5 for professional, and 0.7 for Tiger Woods the projection ranges of ball were closely matched with initial condition. With selected $C_{lift}$ and back spin frequency of initial condition, the ranges with different projection angle was measured as 193m ($13-17^{\circ}$) for amateur, 240m ($9-13^{\circ}$), professional and 273m ($9^{\circ}$)Tiger Woods, respectively. For the range in terms of back spin frequency and projection angle, the amateur group indicated relatively high spin frequency (70 RPS) and showed the maximal range (195m) with $13^{\circ}$ of projection angle. The tendency of longer range with higher projection angle was also found under the different conditions of spin frequency in this group. The professional group showed their maximal range (245m) with conditions of 60RPS of spin frequency and $9^{\circ}$ of projection angle. Their range was decreased dramatically when the spin frequency was reduced to 40-50 RPS. For Tiger Woods, the maximal range was found with 40RPS of spin frequency and the range was decreased notably when the spin frequency was above 40RPS.
