  • Social media sites like as twitter, Facebook and flicker widely used by people, not only as a source of distributing information but also as for communication purpose, with the advancement of technology today. Now a day's one of the most frequently used communication methods are social networks. In various research studies, their use in different fields and the effects of social media on student's behaviors, chat sites and blogs caused by Facebook has been analyzed. In order to obtain the basic data, a general scanning model that is public opinion and views of parents and comments that are openly available across social media sites, used to perceive attitude of graduate students, instead of traditional methods like questionnaires and survey's conduction. A dataset of nearly 20000 reviews of parents was collected from different social media networks about their children's, while in another dataset in which 362 graduate school teachers who observe the students to use social media during classes, labs and in campus during free times, their comments about those students were chosen. As per this study, through different positive and negative factors the detailed analysis has been performed to show effect of social media on student's behavior.

  • In this paper, we investigate the relationship between the use of different media and customer satisfaction in help desk service. Different dimensions of customer satisfaction were derived based on SERVQUAL : reliability, empathy, assurance, tangibles, and responsiveness. The results support our hypotheses that use of conventional media (face-to-face and telephone) is related to help desk satisfaction through reliability and empathy and electronic media (e-mali and internet) users show higher satisfaction in tangibles and assurance. Also, hybrid media users (multi-media users by task) show a higher level of satisfaction in reliability and responsibility. The results suggest that automating help desks should be considered as a way to provide more options to end-users.

  • A telephone survey was conducted in a metropolitan city in 2012 to examine people's credibility ratings of different media outlets, in particular, Weibo - one of the most popular social media platforms in China. Our findings suggest: First, people place more trust in traditional news media than in online sources by a significant margin. Second, demographic influences on media trust seem to be minimal. Only age and gender were related to some credibility measures. Third, Weibo use was not related to one's credibility perception toward traditional media but interestingly, Weibo use showed different impacts on people's evaluation of Weibo's credibility. Commenting frequency was negatively related to one's trust in Weibo, while retweeting frequency was positively related to one's trust in Weibo.

  • Social media has become a popular source of information around the world. Previous studies explored different trends of social media news consumption. However, no studies have focused on Bangladesh to date, where social media penetration is very high in recent years. To fill this gap, this research aimed to understand its popularity trends during the period. For that reason, this work analyzes 97.67 million page likes and 3.48 billion interaction data collected from nine Bangladeshi news media's Facebook pages between December 2016 to November 2020. The analysis shows that the growth rates of page likes and interaction rates declined during this period. It suggests that the media's Facebook pages are gradually losing their popularity among Facebook users, which may have two more interpretations: Facebook's aggregate appeal as a news source is decreasing to users, or Bangladeshi media's appeal is eroding to Facebook users. These findings challenge the previous results, i.e., Facebook's demand as a news source is increasing with time. We offer four explanations of the decreased popularity of Facebook's news: information overload, exposure to incidental news, users' selective exposure and different aims of using Facebook, and conflict between media agendas and users' interests. Some theoretical and practical significance of the results has been discussed as well.

  • Temperature distribution measurements in the mockup apparatus of reactor vessel were performed to determine the effective thermal conductivity of Al powder porous media where stainless steel tubes were installed with different geometry. The temperature distributions at four separated sections with different arrangements of porous media have different slopes according to the geometrical configuration. From the measured temperature distribution, effective thermal conductivity have been derived using the least square fitting method.

  • Understanding the nature of MHD turbulence is of fundamental importance in astrophysics. The results of these studies can be used to develop the star formation theory. While most of previous studies have considered turbulence in uniform media, the stratification of media can play an important role. We performed three-dimensional numerical simulations of isothermal, compressible, MHD turbulence with different plasma beta's and different flow Mach numbers in stratified media to study the effects of stratification on turbulence. We found Statistics of turbulent flow in stratified media is different from in uniform media. In this talk, we present the statistical properties of the MHD turbulence, such as the PDF, power spectrum, and structure function.

  • For effective screening research, to isolate many different strains not duplicated would be essential. Three kinds of media were used for selective isolation of actinomycetes to test the reisolation frequency. Sixty species were isolated on Bennet's agar, 47 were on glycerol-asparagine agar and 77 were on humic acid-vitamin agar from 10 domestic soil samples. All of these isolates were identified to the genus level based on morphological characters and examined the sameness on each medium. The reisolation frequency between two different media was 10% or so(8.3~16.7%) and among three different media was 25% or so(22.1~27.7%).

  • The main objective of this paper is to probe the extent to which misinformation propagated through the different social media platforms contribute effectively in the process of directing, shaping and reshaping societal awareness of Saudis. In so doing, this paper attempts to delve into the relationship between linguistic misinformation and societal awareness, by exploring the perception of Saudis towards social media news, particularly misinformation and the extent to which this misinformation influences the social attitudes of Saudis in terms of various societal issues. Two main research questions are addressed in this study. First, to what extent does social media misinformation affect Saudis' awareness? Second, what are the linguistic manifestations of misinformation presented in the different social platforms? Two main findings have been recorded in this study: first, misinformation significantly contributes to the societal awareness of Saudis; and, second, however misinformation is linguistically manifested at the different levels of linguistic analysis, it is highly representative at the lexicalization level of language use.

  • The study evaluated different synthetic and semisynthetic media for maximal recovery of rumen bacteria and expression of their antibacterial activity. Rumen Glucose Cellobiose Agar (RGCA) medium was found to be the best for recovery of rumen bacteria. However, L-10 medium was the best for expression of antibacterial activity of ruminal isolates followed by Easy, M-10, RGCA and M-98-5 medium. The present study recommends the use of L-10 medium as the medium of choice for screening of antibacterial activity of ruminal isolates. Comparative evaluation of bacterial counts on different dietary regimes indicated significant difference between different growth media on a specific diet and between diets on specific growth media within a species. However, there is no overall significant difference between total bacterial counts obtained from rumen liquor of cattle and buffalo with respect to either the feeding regime or growth media. Feeding straw based diet to the animal is the best for high recovery of rumen bacteria.

  • This study aims to utilize big data contents of news and social media for developing a corporate strategy of multinational enterprises and their global decision-making through the data mining technique, especially text mining. In this paper, the data of 2 news media (BBC and CNN) and 2 social media (Facebook and Twitter) were collected for the three global leading Korean companies (Samsung, Hyundai Motor Company, and LG) from April, 2018 to April, 2019. The findings of this paper have shown that traditional news media and also modern social media have become devastating tools to extract global trends or phenomena for businesses. Moreover, this presents that a company can adopt a two-track strategy through two different types of media by deriving the key issues or trends from news media channels and also grasping consumers' sentiments, preference or issues of interest such as battery or design from social media. In addition, analyzing the texts of those media and understanding the association rules greatly contribute to the comparison between two different types of media channels to see the difference. Lastly, this provides meaningful and valuable data empowered insights to find a future direction comprehensively and develop a global strategy for sustainability of business.
