The method of direct mass spectrometry profiling is reliable and reproducible for the rapid identification of clinical isolates of bacteria and fungi. This is the first study evaluating the approach of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry profiling for rapid identification of carbapenemase-resistant enterobacteriaceae (CRE). Proof of concept was achieved by the discrimination of CRE using MALDI Biotyper MS based on the protein. This profiling appears promising by the visual observation of consistent unique peaks, albeit low intensity, that could be picked up from the mean spectra (MSP) method. The Biotyper MSP creation and identification methods needed to be optimized to provide significantly improved differences in scores to allow for subspecies identification with and without carbapenemases. These spectra were subjected to visual peak picking and in all cases; there were pertinent differences in the presence or absence of potential biomarker peaks to differentiate isolates. We also evaluated this method for potential discrimination between different carbapenemases bacteria, utilizing the same strategy. Based on our data and pending further investigation in other CREs, MALDI-TOF MS has potential as a diagnostic tool for the rapid identification of even closely related carbapenemases but would require a paradigm shift in which Biotyper suppliers enable more flexible software control of mass spectral profiling methods.

PURPOSE: The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between psychosocial factors and the severity of musculoskeletal pain in veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). METHODS: A total of 60 subjects were recruited from among the veterans with musculoskeletal pain at D Veterans Hospital. PTSD was evaluated by using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition; severity of pain was measured by using the short-form McGill Pain Questionnaire (SF-MPQ); depression and anxiety were measured by using the Symptom Checklist-90-Revision; and the quality of sleep was measured by using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. All data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 software for Windows. RESULTS: The averages cores of pain intensity ($7.48{\pm}1.67$), SF-MPQ-sensory ($13.84{\pm}7.52$), SF-MPQ-affective ($4.41{\pm}3.79$), depression ($19.30{\pm}11.37$), anxiety ($13.39{\pm}7.99$), and quality of sleep ($10.05{\pm}5.89$) were obtained in veterans with PTSD. SF-MPQ-sensory measures sleep quality (r=0.346, p<0.01), SF-MPQ-affective measures depression (r=0.318, p<0.01) and anxiety (r=0.404, p<0.01), and these showed a statistically significant positive correlation in veterans with PTSD. Pain levels were observed to be higher in veterans with PTSD. Moreover, in these subjects, physical pain had a significant influence on the anxiety variable among the psychosocial factors. CONCLUSION: These findings suggest that musculoskeletal pain provides meaningful information about depression, anxiety, and sleep disorder in veterans with PTSD. Our data suggest that musculoskeletal pain may need to be addressed as part of the health management process of veterans.
Purpose: The primary aims of this retrospective study were to compare subjective bone quality and bone quality based on the Hounsfield scale in different segments of the edentulous jaw, and to establish quantitative and objective assessment of the bone quality. Materials and Methods: Twenty eight randomly selected cone-beam computed tomographic (CBCT) scans were analyzed. For evaluation one hundred and twelve edentulous areas were selected. Implant recipient sites were evaluated visually for Lekholm and Zarb classification. The same sites were subsequently evaluated digitally using the Hounsfield scale with Vimplant$2.0^{TM}$, and the results were correlated with visual classification. Data was subject for statistical analysis in order to determine correlation between recorded HU and the regions of the mouth with the Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: The highest unit/mean density value (311 HU) was found in the anterior mandible, followed by 259 HU for the posterior mandible, 216 HU for the anterior maxilla, and 127 HU for the posterior maxilla. These results demonstrate a strong correlation for HU depending on the region of the mouth (p<0.001). The relationship between HU and type 4 bone was found to be significant (r=0.74). Conclusion: Knowledge of the Hounsfield value as a quantitative measurement of bone density can be helpful as a diagnostic tool by using $CBMercuRa6^{TM}$ with $Vimplant^{TM}$ software.

The cable degradation process is largely divided into three steps; Step 1 : Thermal degradation, Step 2 : Weibull degradation, Step 3 : Partial discharge. it is progress in step order. This article aims to explain the process of cable degradation using the method of insulation resistance and accordingly to compose and manufacture a system of measuring the life of electrical cable. Before measuring the insulation resistance, a system of measuring the temperature and current of cables was made, and the established system was installed for test on the site of a power plant to collect the measured data. The current sensor was used TFC30P80A-CL420, and temperature sensor was used the DK-1270 PT100 sensor as RTD sensor. When measured the temperature and the load current at the same position, was confirmed that in case of the load current value was high, also temperature value high. Therefore, the correlation between load currents and temperature was verified, and the analysis of diagnostic data was evaluated, which could be utilized in identifying the fault condition of cable systems.

Today, as railways increase their capacity and speeds, it is more important than ever to be completely aware of the state of vehicles fleet's condition to ensure the highest quality and safety standards, as well as being able to maintain the costs as low as possible. Operation of a modern, dynamic and efficient railway demands a real time, accurate and reliable evaluation of the infrastructure assets, including signal networks and diagnostic systems able to acquire functional parameters. In the conventional system, measurement data are reliably collected using coaxial wires for communication between sensors and the repository. As sensors grow in size, the cost of the monitoring system can grow. Recently, auto-powered wireless sensor has been considered as an alternative tool for economical and accurate realization of structural health monitoring system, being provided by the following essential features: on-board micro-processor, sensing capability, wireless communication, auto-powered battery, and low cost. In this work, an original harvester device is designed to supply wireless sensor system battery using train bogie energy. Piezoelectric materials have in here considered due to their established ability to directly convert applied strain energy into usable electric energy and their relatively simple modelling into an integrated system. The mechanical and electrical properties of the system are studied according to the project specifications. The numerical formulation is implemented with in-house code using commercial software tool and then experimentally validated through a proof of concept setup using an excitation signal by a real application scenario.

Wind power is the fastest growing renewable energy source in the world and it is expected to remain so for some times. Recently, there is a constant need for the reduction of Operational and Maintenance(O&M) costs of Wind Energy Conversion Systems(WECS). The most efficient way of reducing O&M cost would be to utilize CMS(Condition Monitoring System) of WECS. CMS allows for early detection of the deterioration of the wind generator's health, facilitating a proactive action, minimizing downtime, and finally maximizing productivity. There are two types of faults such as mass unbalance and aerodynamic asymmetry which are related to wind turbine's rotor faults. Generally, these faults tend to generate various vibrations. Therefore, in this work a simple fault detection algorithm based on spectrums of vibration signals and simple max-min decision logic is proposed. Furthermore, in order to verify its feasibility, several simulation studies are carried out by using GH-bladed software.

Recently, the cooling water of power plant was included in RPS(Renewable Portpolio Standard) as water heat energy. Thus the trend of cooling water application is growing bigger for agriculture and fishing industry. Especially as energy consumption cost in agriculture and fishing industry is a vital element, the interests for energy efficiency is growing bigger. The advanced agriculture country like Netherlands is distributing diagnosis software to the farmers based on ICT diagnostic system for the efficient energy consumption and energy demand amounts depend on crops of cultivation in automated horticulture. Hereafter, in the preparation of the expansion of the automated agriculture domestically by the cooling water of power plant, we would like to propose the energy application case(Greenery) in the advanced countries abroad in agriculture and EMS system about the application of the cooling water in power plant.

Background: The aim of this study is to validate a new three-dimensional craniofacial stereophotogrammetry imaging system (3dMDface) through comparison with manual facial surface anthropometry. The null hypothesis was that there is no difference between craniofacial measurements using anthropometry vs. the 3dMDface system. Methods: Facial images using the new 3dMDface system were taken from six randomly selected subjects, sitting in natural head position, on six separate occasions each 1 week apart, repeated twice at each sitting. Exclusion criteria were excess facial hair, facial piercings and undergoing current dentofacial treatment. 3dMDvultus software allowed facial landmarks to be marked and measurements recorded. The same measurements were taken using manual anthropometry, using soluble eyeliner to pinpoint landmarks, and sliding and spreading callipers and measuring tape to measure distances. The setting for the investigation was a dental teaching hospital and regional (secondary and tertiary care) cleft centre. The main outcome measure was comparison of the craniofacial measurements using the two aforementioned techniques. Results: The results showed good agreement between craniofacial measurements using the 3dMDface system compared with manual anthropometry. For all measurements, except chin height and labial fissure width, there was a greater variability with the manual method compared to 3D assessment. Overall, there was a significantly greater variability in manual compared with 3D assessments (p < 0.02). Conclusions: The 3dMDface system is validated for craniofacial measurements.

This study was performed to offer convenience to determine the vertical dimension of occlusion of edentulous patients by investigating the interocclusal distances at physiologic rest position, at speaking of /m/ sound, and some korean short sounds, that is, /mem/ and /beb/ sounds, which were found in our previous study with dentulous subjects. Ten edentulous subjects - 6 men and 4 women - were selected for this study. The frequencies at speaking of /m/, /mem/, and /beb/ sounds were analyzed with Computerized speech lab($CSL^{TM}$, Model 4300B, Software version 5.X, Kay Elemetrics Co. U.S.A.). And the interocclusal distances at physiologic rest position and at speaking of /m/, /mem/, and /beb/ sounds were measured with K6 diagnostic system(Myo-tronics, Inc. U.S.A.). The results of this study were as follows ; 1. In the acoustic analysis by Computerized speech lab, frequencies of sounds of edentulous subjects with complete denture at speaking of /m/, /mem/, and /beb/ were similar to those of dentulous subjects. 2. In the linear correlation by Pearson's correlation coefficient, the interocclusal distance at physiologic rest position was most similar to those of speaking /mem/ sound, secondly /m/ sound, and thirdly /beb/ sound(p<0.05). In reliability by Cronbach's alpha, the results were reliable with alpha value 0.97. 3. It was found by Levene's test for equality of variance that the difference between men and women in the interocclusal distances at physiologic rest position and at speaking of /m/, /mem/, and /beb/ sounds was not statistically significant(p>0.05).
