The purpose of this study was to evaluate the reliablity of laser Doppler flowmeter on the permanent maxillary central incisors with open apex. Laser Doppler flowmeter and electric pulp tests were done in 35 elementary students aged between 8 and 9 years and 35 females and males aged between 23 and 24 years. Teeth with open apex were confined to root developmental stage 5 and 6 by Moorrees classification. The threshold of electric pulp tests was decided the time of tingling sensation. More than three different electric pulp tests applied on every teeth with more than 3 minutes interval between each teeth due to the false response. Laser Doppler flowmeter test stablilzation and observation stages took more than 5 minutes each LDF values and electric pulp test thresholds were analyzed with student t-test. The results were as follows: 1. The electric pulp test threshold on teeth with immature and mature roots showed 28.4% and 100% response respectively, and the the LDF values on teeth with immature and mature roots showed 100% response. 2. The EPT thresholds on teeth with immature roots were larger than thresholds on teeth with mature roots(p<0.01). 3. No significant differences were found in the LDF values on teeth with immature and mature roots.

The development of sycamore lace bug, Corythucha ciliata, had been studied at four constant temperature levels of 15, 20, 25, and $30^{\circ}C$. And characteristics of its oviposition were studied at field. Developmental periods of eggs were 39.1, 17.1, 9.8, and 8.0 days, those of nymphs were 58.5, 23.8, 14.5, and 10.8 days, hatchabilities of eggs were 42.0, 78.5, 83.3, and 78.7%, and survival rates of nymphs were 14.7. 60.5, 75.7, and 48.9% at different temperatures of 15, 20, 25, and $30^{\circ}C$. Lower development threshold temperature and the effective accumulative temperature above the threshold required to complete development from egg to nymph were $11.5^{\circ}C$ and 344.8 degree days, respectively. The optimum temperature was estimated to be $25^{\circ}C$ for developments of egg and nymph. The longevities of adults were 41.0 days and 37.0 days for female and male, respectively.
The effects of ammonia on survival and growth of the flounder larva, Paralichthys olivaceus, were examined by a static renewal bioassay method. The $96\;hr-LC_{50}$ with the developmental stages during the period from 1day to 23 day-old larvae ranged 0.273 to 1.023 mg $NH_3/\ell$. Tolerance of the larvae to ammonia toxicity was much sensitive at the early larval stage, and increased with the growth of the larvae. Threshold $96hr-LC_{50}$ in 1, 3 and S day-old larvae after hatching were 0.293, 0.248 and 0.379 mg $NH_3/\ell$, respectively. Survival rate and growth in body weight and body weight of the larva were reduced with increase of ammonia concentration in the range of 0.055 and 0.341 mg $NH_3/\ell$. The no-observable-effect concentration (NOEC) and lowest-observable- effect concentration (LOEC) of the flounder larve were 0.102 and 0.174 mg $NH_3/\ell$ for body length, and 0.151 and 0.198 mg $NH_3/\ell$ for body weight, respectively. Chronic value (ChV), which is the geometric mean of the NOEC and $NH_3/\ell$ to body length of the larvae were 0.124 mg $NH_3/\ell$. The coefficient of variation (CV) for body length was higher at high concentration than at low concentration.
Copris tripartitus Waterhouse is a coprophagus insect which enhances the soil fertility as conveying dung into the soil. We compared preimaginal development, mortality, and size of C. tripartitus at various temperature condition (15, 17.5, 20, 25, 27.5, 30). Total preimaginal periods ranged from 118.0d at $17.5^{\circ}C$ to 49.3d at $27.5^{\circ}C$. Development threshold temperature (DT) and total effective temperature for the development of egg, larva, pupa and for complete development (egg to emergence) were 12.1, 11.2, 12.1 and $9.2^{\circ}C$ and 82.7, 462.0, 225.7 and 947.2 degree days, respectively. The mortality of egg and larva was the lowest at $25^{\circ}C$. The optimum temperature for hatchability and on the development of C. tripartitus was estimated to the $25^{\circ}C$.
This study was conducted to predict the hatching time of eggs of Lycorma delicatula, to select an effective environmentally-friendly agriculture material (EFAM) and to evaluate the attraction effect of brown sticky traps for controling of Lycorma delicatula nymph and adults. Eggs hatched 55.9, 26.8, 21.6 days after incubation at 15, 20, $25^{\circ}C$ with 14L:10D condition and the hatching rates of egg were 61.9, 57.8, 30.4%, respectively. At high temperature conditions, egg development periods were shorter and the hatching rate was lower. The relationship between temperature and developmental rate was expressed by the linear equation Y=0.0028X-0.0228, $R^2$=0.9561. The low temperature threshold of eggs was $8.14^{\circ}C$ and the thermal constant required to reach larva was 355.4 DD. According to this relationship, the mean estimated hatching date was $22^{nd}$ May. The effective EFAM was natural plant extract, sophora extract, derris extract to nymph and natural plant extract, pyrethrum extract, sophora extract to adult. Among three colors of sticky trap : brown, blue and yellow, the brown sticky trap was the most attractive to nymphs and adults of L. delicatula over a 2 weeks trial period. It suggested that the brown sticky trap could be a very useful and environment-friendly control method for nymphs and adults of L. delicatula.
Orius strgicollis Poppius is an endemic natural enemy of thrips recently found. To estimatethe optimum temperature for rearing in laboratory, development and oviposition of 0. strigicollis wasstudied at 15, 20, 25 and 30$^{\circ}$C with a 16L : 8D photoperiod and 60-80% RH. Cotton aphid, Aphisgossipyii, was supplied as prey. Total number of eggs laid per female ranged from 39.1 to 68.5 with thehighest at 25$^{\circ}$C. Adult longevity decreased as temperature increased, and the reverse was true for eggsurvivorship. Survivorship of larvae was 26.7,43.3, 76.7 and 46.7% at 15, 20, 25 and 30$^{\circ}$C, respectively.Duration of eggs and larvae at tested temperatures ranged from 3.4 days to 18.9 days and from 9.4 days to45.6 days, respectively. A linear regression model could describe development of the predator as afunction of temperature (R2=0.949-0.997). The lower developmental threshold temperatures for egg, larvae, and total immature stage were estimated to be 12.4, 11.4, and 11.6"C, respectively.6"C, respectively.vely.
This study was carried out to investigate the development and fecundity of Liriomyze chinensis under different temperatures. Egg periods were 4.5, 2.9 and 1.9 days, larval periods 12.7, 5.8, 4.5, days, pupal periods 20.1, 16.3 and 13.0 days, and total development periods from egg to adult emergence were 32.5, 25.0 and 19.4 days under 20, 25, $30^{\circ}C$ of constant temperatures, respectively. Based on this results, developmental threshold temperatures were calculated as 13.0, 11.0 and $7.2^{\circ}C$ and total effective temperatures as 33.0, 86.1 and 293.6 degree-days for egg, larva and pupa, respectively. seventy-eight% of the tested files emerged within four hours and a half after lighting, and none was emerged after eight hours and a half. The longevities of male and female were 5.0 and 8.5 days and the female fly laid 165.8 eggs with her life and punctured 983.8 stipples at $25^{\circ}C$.
This study was carried out in the laboratory to clarify effects of different temperature of Protopulvinaria mangiferae(Green) on development, survivorship and reproduction. Developmental period of the mango shieldscale from crawlers to preoviposition adult decreased as temperature increased. The threshold temperature andthermal constants for the development of one generation were 11.7"C and 1000.0 day-degrees, respectively. At25$^{\circ}$C and 30$^{\circ}$C, survival rate from egg to preoviposition adult were 82% and 6096, respectively. Hatchability ofeggs was more than 99% at both condition. The reproductive period overaged 50 days(2SnC) and 33 days(30$^{\circ}$C). After mature adult began to reporduce, and more than 50% of the crawlers emerged during the firsthalf of their life time. The net reproduction rate per generation(R), mean length of a generation0 and intrinsicrate of natural increase(r, ) were higher at 25$^{\circ}$C than at 30"C, and the values measured at 25$^{\circ}$C were 132.6, 76.2 and 0.064/female/day, respectively.
Life cycle of the mirid predator, Cyrtorhinus lividipennis, was observed on the constant temper¬ature. Egg periods were 14.43, 9.33 and 6.94 days at $20^{\circ}C$, $25^{\circ}C$ and $30^{\circ}C$, respectively. Nymph periods were 24.3, 14.42, and 11.90 days at $20^{\circ}C$, $25^{\circ}C$ and $30^{\circ}C$, respectively and fe¬male longevity was 11.20, 11.93 and 11.87 days at above temperatures. Relationships between constant temperature and the developmental velocity of egg, nymph and egg-nymph were lin¬ear over temperatures tested. The calculated threshold temperatures of development were $10.7^{\circ}C$ in egg, $9.8^{\circ}C$ in nymph and $10.2^{\circ}C$ in egg-nymph. Total effective day-degrees were 133.9 in egg, 235.8 in nymph and 368.0 in egg-nymph. Number of eggs laid was 26.0 and 22.4 at $24^{\circ}C$ and $30^{\circ}C$, respectively.
The natural enemy was identified as a parasitic wasp, Binodoxys communis Gahan. B. communis taxonomically belongs to the family braconidae, subfamily aphidinae, and genera binodoxys. It develops normally at 17.5 to 32.5℃, and not at 35℃. Depending on the temperature, the longest development period of B. communis was 21.9 days at 17.5℃, and shortest was 6.46 days at 32.5℃. The effective accumulated temperature was 175.44 DD for females as well as males; however, the developmental threshold temperature was 10.87℃ and 10.74℃ for females and males, respectively. This parasitic wasp was found to prefer cotton aphids and soybean aphids as its prey.
