The swell is a major cause of interruption for the activity in a port and the ship navigation in coastal waters, coastal geographical changes, and the disaster with a loss of lives. However, many researches about the observation and the prediction of swells have not been conducted actively due to the difficulties to collect and synthesize the massive amount of long term field data for waves and meteorological information. In this study, the internet-based realtime monitoring system(Fieldbox) was developed to collect the wave data. The characteristics and main components of swells occurred in Korea were analyzed using wave data observed through the Fieldbox and the meteorological data collected by the KMA(Korea Meteorological Administration) and NASA(National Aeronautics and Space Administration). The characteristics of the swell generation patterns were analyzed using the monthly data of the Kwangan Tower between 2004 and 2006 to estimate the specific features such as sources and locations of swells generated in Korea.

An internal lobe pump is suitable for oil hydraulics of machine tools, automotive engines, compressors, constructions and other various applications. In particular, the pump is an essential machine element of an automotive engine to feed lubricant oil. The subject of this paper is the theoretical analysis of internal lobe pump whose the main components are the rotors: usually the outer one is characterized by lobe with elliptical and involute shapes, while the inner rotor profile is determined as conjugate to the other. And the integrated design system which is composed of three main modules has been developed through AutoLISP under AutoCAD circumstance plus CFD-ACE+. It generates new lobe profile and calculates automatically the flow rate and flow rate irregularity according to the lobe profile generated. CFD simulation results show trends similar to those carried out in experiments, and a quantitative comparison is presented. Results obtained from the automotive integrated design system enable the designer and manufacturer of oil pump to be more efficient in this field.

Linear stability analysis for combustion instability within a cylindrical port of solid rocket motor has been conducted. The analysis of acoustic energy has been performed by a commercial COMSOL code to obtain the mode function associated to each acoustic mode prior to the calculation of stability alpha. An instability diagnosis based on the linear stability analysis of Culick is performed where special interests have been focused on 5 stability factors(alpha) such as pressure coupling, nozzle damping, particle damping and additionally, flow turning effect and viscous damping to take into account the flow and viscosity effect near the fuel surface. The instability decay characteristics depending on the particle size is also analyzed.
The Down-the-Hole hammer is one of the pneumatic drill equipment used for grinding, drilling, and mining. One the advantages of which is that a reduction work efficiency at deep site are relatively small compared to other drilling methods. Due to the large vibration in the underground area, it is difficult to measure the performance of the hammer, and hammer testing requires substantial production cost and operating expenses so research on the development of the hammer is insufficient. Therefore, this study has developed a dynamic simulation model that apprehends the operating principles of an 8-inch DTH hammer and calculates performance data such as performance impact force, piston speed, and BPM. By using the simulation model, design factors related to strike force and BPM were selected, and the influence of each design factors on performance was analyzed through ANOVA analysis. As a result, be the most important for BPM and the strike force are position of upper port that push the piston in the direction of the bit and in BPM, the size of the empty space between the bits and the piston is the second most important design factor.
Purpose - Semiconductors are a significant export item for Korea that is expected to continue to contribute significantly to the Korean economy in the future. Thus, the semiconductor industry is a critical component in the 4th Industrial Revolution and is expected to continue growing as the non-face-to-face economy expands as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this context, this paper aims to empirically investigate how semiconductors are imported and exported in Korea from a global supply chain perspective by analysing import and export data at the micro-level. Design/methodology - This study conducts a multifaceted analysis of the global supply chain for semiconductors and related equipment in Korea by examining semiconductor imports and exports by semiconductor type, year, target country, mode of transportation, airport/port, and domestic region, using import/export micro-data. The visualisation, flow analysis, and Bayesian Network methodologies were used to compensate for the limitations of each method. Findings - Korea is a major exporter of semiconductor memory and has the world's highest competitiveness but is relatively weak in the field of system semiconductors. The trade deficit in 'semiconductor equipment and parts' is clearly growing. As a result, continued investment in 'system semiconductors' and 'semiconductor equipment and parts' technology development is necessary to boost exports and ensure a stable supply chain. Originality/value - Few papers on semiconductor trade in Korea have been published from the perspective of the global supply chain or value chain. This study contributes to the literature in this area by focusing on import and export data for the global supply chain of the Korean semiconductor industry using a variety of approaches. It is our hope that the insights gained from this study will aid in the advancement of SCM research.
Mokpo is a port city in the southwest of the Korean Peninsula. The popular song "Tears of Mokpo" is a song planted in the hearts of the entire nation. In this content, there are Yudalsan Mountain and Samhakdo Island in Mokpo, and people vaguely know this area, but it is a familiar place. In particular, Samhakdo Island is a representative brand that symbolizes Mokpo and is a place with regional identity. Mokpo City is creating many facilities infrastructure to develop Samhakdo Island. It is a stepping stone for converting the local economy into a tourism industry. However, the development of performance contents for the soft power of local culture is weak. In this respect, this study presented performance contents for Samhakdo Island, Mokpo's representative brand, for local tourism attractiveness. The research progress is a study on planning and researching performance contents using the location of Samhakdo Island in Mokpo. First, the background of the theory of performance content planning based on local placeability was examined. Next, Samhakdo Island in Mokpo proposed planning for performance contents.
The amount of dredging clay will be greatly increased by the eco-rive project and port development in Korea. Geotechnical engineers have thrown their efforts into the new ways for effective re-uses of the dredging clay such as the material for reclamation, and so on. However, very high initial water content and low strength causes unexpected difficulties in the aspect of trafficablility or time for consolidation. Therefore, the injection of cement stabilizer is used as one of ways to improve reclaimed ground. However, it also makes an argument by heavy metal from cement stabilizer. In this paper constant rate of strain consolidation test and normal consolidation test were performed to investigate behavior characteristics of the consolidation about soil-cement include lean mixed cement to reduce the environmental loads by the cement. The experimental results of consolidation characteristics about soil-cement include lean mixed cement influenced by mixing ratio. Especially it was observed that mixing ratio of 4%~6% leads not only the reduction of consolidation settlement, but time for consolidation.

Recently, a container shipping volume has increased dramatically and continued on a trend of rapid growth, and so the number of container handled at the port increase. therefore, it's increasing about concern of harbor automatism to save distribution costs in harbor. harbor automatism classifies into four large automatism's, gate automatism by using RFID that trailer come with burdening the container to be loaded on ships go though with RFID and Quay-Side container crane automatism that treats cargos loading on ships and automatism of CG that loads containers from yard, and automatism of container transporters that carries containers in between gates. To increase the using efficiency of harbor, detecting exact location of yard crane is very important matter. In this paper, propose about yard crane automatism applied UWB Location system and the development direction.
The Radio Navigation System(R. N. S.) has been progressed consistantly with the development of electric-electronic engineering techniques since the R. D. E had been developed in 1910. The R. N. S. mostly depends on either Hyperbolic Navigation System(H. N. S.) or Spherical Navigation System(S. N. S.) in the ocean, and on Rectangular Navigation System (R. N. S.) in the air near the airport or an a combinations of the above systems in both area. Another effective R. N. S may be the Ellipse-Hyperbola Navigation System(E-H N. S.), which is proposed and named such in this paper. The equations calculating GDOP are derived and the GDOP values are calculated in the case of H. N. S., S. N. S, and E-H. N. S., respectively, for the specified case that four transmitting stations are arranged on the apex of a square, Then the GDOP diagrams of above navigation systems are presented for qualitative comparison in this paper. To measure the distances from the receiver to the stations in S. N. S., and/or the sum of distances to two stations in E-H N. S., the time synchronization between the transmitter clocks and the receiver clock is a major premise. The author has proposed the algorithm for getting this synchronmization utilizing the by S. N. S. or E-H N. S while GDOPs of those are relatively good. Even though clock synchronization error is a voidable due to the fix error used, the simulated results shows that the position accuracy of S. N. S. and E-H N. S. by the proposed method is far upgraded compared with that determined by H. N. S. directly, as far as the outer region of transmitter arrangement is concerned.

To develop the artificial spawning seaweeds of the sandfish, Arctoscopus japonicus, the effects by the material type of artificial spawning seaweeds were investigated at Dongsan port in Gangwon-do from December 2006 to March 2007. Sargassum fulvellum, S. horneri, rope and net were used as materials for artificial spawning seaweeds, and the most effective thing among them was S. fulvellum. A. japonicus began to attach the egg mass to artificial spawning seaweeds when sea temperature dropped below 10${^{\circ}C}$ in December, spawned heavily when it was around 8${^{\circ}C}$ in January, and completed the behavior when it started to increase over 10${^{\circ}C}$ in February. The hatching period of eggs was estimated to be about 60 days. The middle position in artificial spawning seaweed had the highest number of egg masses and the diameter of the egg mass ranged from 25mm to 62mm. Based on the result for the effects, the artificial spawning seaweeds of A. japonicus were developed and it is possible to use them to form seaweed forests or spawning grounds of other species.
