  • In this paper, web based monitoring systems are implemented for multi-axis force control systems of an intelligent robot. Linux operating systems are ported to an embedded system which Include a Xscale processor to implement a web based monitoring system. A device driver is developed to receive data from multi-axis force sensors of intelligent robots. To control this device driver, a socket program for Labview is also developed.

  • A numerical procedure is developed to analyze the time-dependent behavior of prestressed concrete bridges constructed by the segmental cantilever method. The developed computer program accounts for the time-dependent properties of prestressed concrete materials due to the varing modulus of elasticity, creep and shrinkage of concrete and the stress relaxation of prestressing steel. It also accounts for the stiffness increase due to the presence of the steel reinforcements and the effects of the shear deformation of the prestressed concrete bridge girders. The program is applied to a multi-span continuous segmental prestressed concrete bridge to demonstrate its capabilities.

  • Process design is one of the most important fields in metal forming, where the finite element method has appeared a useful method for industrial applications. In this study, a program using the rigid plastic finite element has been developed for preform design in three-dimensional plastic deformation. The surface integration for calculation of the friction between die and workpiece has been implemented with care in numerical treatment. The developed program is applied to a precision coining process for designing an optimal punch.

  • In this study, computer program for the optimum design of two continuous box culvert was developed. It was shown that even though the starting points and optimization method are different, the objective function and optimum design variables converge to a value within a close range respectively, and consequently the optimum design program developed in this study is reliable and robust. MMFD is the most efficient one from the viewpoint of convergency and computing time.

  • An arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) finite element method has been developed. The finite element formation is derived and implemented for rigid-viscoplastic materials. The developed computer program is applied to the analysis of axisymmetric square die extrusion, which has many difficulties with updated Lagrangian approach. The results are compared with those from updated Largrangian approach. The results are compared with those from updated Lagrangian finite element program. Updating scheme of time dependent variables and mesh control are also examined.

  • The practical computer program COL3 was developed through this study to design of arbitrarily shaped reinforced concrete slender columns subjected to combined compression and biaxial bending. The program COL3 has been developed for user-friendly environment using spreadsheets. Several examples including for analysis of geometrically complex column sections subjected biaxial bending are introduced in this paper.

  • Developed is a chloride penetration analysis program that can consider a concrete surface coating. The effect of concrete surface coating on the service life is simulated by the developed finite element program. It was revealed that the coating at the earlier age is the more effective way to extend the service life.

  • The purpose of this study is developing scheduling logic and program for machining scheduling of automobile part production line with unbalanced processing time. Three rules are developed to minimize slack and effect on other job. Fourth rule is suggested which considered weighted sum of three factors. schedule is generated totally 1, 000 times and then optimal weight parameter is selected. The program is developed to schedule situation to compare with the performance measure, total finish time of machine and total tardiness of part. As a result, the rule which considered weighted sum of three factors is effective for both measure.

  • In this paper, we developed an automated program for the design and machining of spiroid bevel gear. A computer program employing the theory of gearing between gear and pinion is developed to design gear mechanism. A new method for machining spiro야 bevel gears is proposed, and effectively used for an example.

  • The liquid ejector, having no moving, lubricating and leaking parts, is widely used as the various pumps because of its high working confidence and simplicity. Previously, computer aided design program for the small-sized liquid ejector was developed based on the one-dimensional flow analysis and the systematical laboratory level experiments. Through the present research, it is confirmed that the previously developed computer program to getermine the main design dimensions and to calculate the expected performance curve is satisfactorily applied to design the large liquid ejectors.
