한국산 글라디올러스에 발생하는 바이러스 (The Viruses in Gladiolus hybridus cultivated in Korea 2. Broad Bean Wilt Virus, Cucumber Mosaic Virus and Tobacco Rattle Virus)

  • Gladioli (Gladiolus hybridus) showing flower colour breaking leaf mosaics, notched leaf, and dwarfing or lack of visible symptoms were collected from gladioli growing areas in Taegu and Kyungpook province, Korea. The three viruses isolated from the naturally infected gladioli were identified as broad bean wilt virus (BBWV), cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), and tobacco rattle virus (TRV) by their host range, immunosorbent electron microscopy (ISEM), enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), direct tissue blotting immunoassay (DTBIA), and intracellural symptoms. By DTBIA and ISEM, TRV was detected in gladiolus showing notched leaf, while CMV was frequently detected in gladioli with dwarfing, color breaking and malformation of flowers. BBWV was also often detected in many symptomless gladiolus plants, but TRV was detected in notched-leaf of gladiolus. Electron microcopic examination of negatively stained preparations showed that BBWV and CMV are spherical particles of 28 nm and 30 nm in diameter, and TRV is rigid rod-shaped particles of 40∼200 nm in length. The rigid rodshaped virus particles reacted positively with TRV antiserum in ISEM and DTBIA, respectively.

청둥오리 위 내분비세포에 대한 면역조직화학적 연구 (Immunohistochemical study on the stomach of the duck, Anas platyrhynchos platyrhyncos Linne)

  • The relative frequency and distribution of bovine chromogranin(BCG)-, serotonin-, somatostatin(SOM)-, and S-100 protein-immunoreactive cells in the proventriculus, gizzard and proventriculus-gizzard junction(P-G junction) of the duck(Anas platyrhynchos platyrhyncos, Linne) were studied using immunohistochemical methods. BCG-, and SOM-immunoreactive cells were detected in all ages of this study in the proventriculus and the gizzard, and BCG-immunoreactive cells were also detected in the P-G junction. SOM-immunoreactive cells were detected rarely on occasions only in 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks and 9 weeks after hatching. But no S-100 protein-immunoreactive cells were detected in this study.

Different chemical and dynamical environments in two massive star forming regions, G19.61-0.23 and G75.78+0.34

  • Complex organic molecules (COMs) are commonly detected in star forming regions and considered important species since they are seeds of prebiotic molecules. Although COMs form in ice mantles on dust grains, they are preferentially detected in the gas phase. The origin of the gaseous COMs highly depends on the circumstance of each star forming region. Therefore, the distribution of COMs emission reflects the physical and chemical conditions of the region. We present the newly detected COMs, especially methanol emission lines toward two massive star forming regions, G19.61-0.23 and G75.78+0.34 in the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array Band 3 observations during the Cycle 2 phase. Multiple transitions of methanol are detected in both regions but show different emission morphology. The origin of the desorption (e.g. shocks or high energy photons) is discussed.

부분방전 신호 분석을 위한 퍼지 알고리즘 적용 및 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the PD Signal Analysis with Applied Fuzzy Algorithm)

  • In this paper, we have studied for analysis of the partial discharge(PD) signal in underground transmission line. The PD signal has estimated as detected signal accumulation of a PRPDA method by using Labview, and analyzed with fuzzy algorithm. In our algorithm, we developed system configuration that detected accumulating PD signal using by Labview and programmed fuzzy algorithm can be analyzed the PD signal using with Matlab. With practical PD logic implementation of theoretical detected system and hardware implementation, the device for Hipotronics Company's 50kV setup has generated and then has applied with $15k{\sim}17kV$ with 1:1 time probe. It's also used the LDPE 0.27mmt (scratch error 0.05mmt) to sample for making PD. In conclusion, Our new class of PD detected algorithm has also compared with previous PRPDA or Fuzzy algorithm. which has diagnose more conveniently by adding numerical values.

자연산 및 양식뱀장어의 중금속 함유량 조사연구 (Studies on the contents of heavy metals in Anguilla Japonica)

  • This study was performed to investigate the contents of heavy metals in Anguilla japonica habiting in Korea. The samples were collected along by Nak Tongriver, Young San river and culture farms. Lead, Cadmium, Copper, Zinc, Manganese, Chromium were tested by the Atomic Absoption Spectrop-hotometer after wet digestion, Mercury was tested by using mercury analyzer. The results were as follows: 1. Aresenic, Copper contents in the four parts were the higest values in liver 2. In total mercury contents of the each parts, the higest value was detected in muscle. 3. In all metals, Zinc and Manganese were detected with high contents, Mecury and Cadmium were detected with low contents. Lead, Cadmium, Zinc, chromiumi, Manganese were detected with high in bone. 4, The difference was not significant between natural and feeding Anguilla Japonica, but significant correlation with parts.

남산주변 약수의 수질에 관한 조사연구 (A Studies on the Mineral Water Around Nam San)

  • This study was carried out to investigate water quality of mineral water located in Nam san. 8 sites were pointed out by ramdom sampling and tested for 12 items in May and December 1988. The results were as follows: 1. The range of pH value in all sites was 5.4 - 6.8. 2. NH$_{3}$-N concentrations were suitable for drinking water criteria in winter season but site 1 was not for drinking water criteria. 3. NO$_{3}$-N concentrations were suitable for drinking water criteria in all samples. 4. Most of heavy metals were detected small amount, and espically zinc were detected much amount in all sites (0.01-0.32). 5. Coliform was not detected in all sites .in summer season but site 4 and 8 were detected in winter season.

  • This work involves analyzing partial discharge (PD), which has estimated the detected signal accumulation based on Labview, and analyzing by Fuzzy algorithm. In algorithm, we developed system configuration that detected accumulating PD signal. Detection of Adenovirus from Respiratory and Alimentary Tract in Pusan, 1999

  • Adenovirus which is an important infectious viral agent in respiratory and alimentary tract was investigated in Pusan, 1999. Fifteen cases of adenovirus were detected from stools and throat swabs of suspected patients. Two cases of enteric adenovirus were detected from a 5 years old boy and a 6-month-old boy. Thirteen cases of respiratory adenoviruses were detected from children aged under 10 years old and one adult. From respiratory specimens, 1 case of adenovirus type 2, 1 case of type 5, and 11 cases of type 3 were found. Enterotype 41 was detected from fecal preparations. Adenoviruses appeared mostly during winter months, January, February and December. Adenovirus showed a slowly progressive cytopathic effect on HEp-2 cells, Vero cells and BGM cells at 37$^{\circ}C$, in a 5-7% $CO_{2}$ incubation. An electron microscopic observation exhibited non-enveloped icosahedron with a diameter of 70nm. No significant differences on cytopathic effect and morphological features have been found from specimens of either alimentary tract or respiratory secretions.

Molecular Variation of Endosymbiotic Bacteria Wolbachia in Bemisia tabaci and Related Whiteflies

  • Whiteflies harbor several secondary endosymbionts, which are maternally inherited from mother to offspring, that have major effects on host preferences, biology, and evolution. Here, we identified Wolbachia bacteria in sweetpotato whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) as well as whitefly popluations from other countries by comparison of 16S rDNA sequences. Wolbachia were detected in all tested indigenous B. tabaci populations (Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, and the Philippines) as well as Q1 biotype of Korea, whereas they were absent from B biotype of Korea and Q biotype of China. Wolbachia were also detected in all five tested Aleurodicus dispersus populations as well as Tetraleurodes acaciae, whereas they were not detected in all seven Trialeurodes vaporariorum populatuions. In addiiton, Wolbachia were detected in parasitic wasp (Encarsia formosa) of B. tabaci as well as honeybee (Apis mellifera). Among the 19 whitefly populations from different countries, our analysis identified four phylogenetic groups of Wolbachia, thereby demonstrating the high diversity of this genus. Wolbachia phylogeny suggests a correlation of geographical range with ecological variation at the species level.

곤포사일리지에 발생하는 곰팡이가 생산하는 진균 독소 (Mycotoxins Produced by Fungi Contaminated on the Round Bale Silage)

  • 곤포 사일리지에서 분리한 Penicillium, Aspergillus, Fusarium속 균의 곰팡이독소 생산 여부를 조사한 결과, Penicillium paneum 균주의 배양여액에서 citrin과 patulin이 검출되었고, Aspergillus flavus 균주의 배양여액에서는 아프라톡신이 검출되었으나 A. fumigatus가 생산하는 것으로 알려진 글리오톡신은 검출되지 않았다. Fusarium proliferatum 균주는 Fusarium속 균이 일반적으로 많이 생산하는 fumonisin, zearalenone, deoxynivalenol 등 곰팡이 독소가 검출되지 않았다.
