  • This paper proposes a new dynamic storage structure and methods fur geometric data with detail levels. Using geometric data with detail levels, we can search geometric data quickly. However, the previous structures for detail levels form the bottleneck in the design of database and do not support all types of geometric data with detail levels. Our structure supports all types of geometric data with detail levels. Moreover, our structure does not form bottleneck in the design of database. This paper presents the structure and algorithms for searching and updating of geometric data with detail levels. Experiments are then performed.

  • Purpose : Image plate (IP) is substituted for film in computed radiography. This study is to investigate into a variation of contrast and detail by the number used of image plate in computed radiography. Materials and Methods : A Contrast-Detail(CD)-RAD 2.0 phantom(Nijmegen hospital, The Netherlands) was used for this study. The computed radiography(CR) CD-RAD phantom images were acquired at 40 kVp, 160 mA, 1.6 mAs, and small focus with the Shimadzu general radiography UD-150B-10 system and Fuji FCR 5000 image process system with speed of 200. The IP used including once, 5000 times, and 10000 times also was used. The numerical value of image quality figures (IQF) was produced by CD-RAD analyser(the program is installed in the directory), and then contrast-detail curve was drawn. Results : In this study, the value of IQF was 3.53 in IP used once, 3.40 in 5000 times, and 3.22 in 10000 times. Conclusions : There was a variation of contrast-detail curve by the number used of IP with contrast-detail phantom in computed radiography. Therefore, it is necessary that the IP with lower IQF and a shift of contrast-detail curve to the lower left part is used.

  • It is very often necessary to search for similar parts during designing a new product because its parts are often easily designed by modifying existing similar parts. In this way, the design time and cost can be reduced. Thus it would be nice to have an efficient similarity comparison algorithm that can be used anytime in the design process. There have been many approaches to compare shape similarity between two solids. In this paper, two parts represented in B-Rep is compared in two steps: one for overall appearances and the other for detail features. In the first step, geometric information is used in low level of detail for easy and fast pre-classification by the overall appearance. In the second step, feature information is used to compare the detail shape in high level of detail to find more similar design. To realize the idea above, a multi resolution algorithm is proposed so that a given solid is described by an overall appearance in a low resolution and by detail features in high resolution. Using this multi-resolution representation, parts can be compared based on the overall appearance first so that the number of parts to be compared in high resolution is reduced, and then detail features are investigated to retrieve the most similar part. In this way, computational time can be reduced by the fast classification in the first step while reliability can be preserved by detail comparison in the second step.

  • In this paper, an efficient detail extraction technique for a progressive coding scheme is proposed. The existing technique using the top-hat transformation yields an efficient extraction scheme for isolated and visually important details, but yields an inefficient results containing significant redundancy extracting the contour information. The proposed technique using the strong edge feature extraction property of the morphological Laplacian in this paper can reduce the redundancy, and thus provides lower bit-rate. Experimental results show that the proposed technique is more efficient than the existing one, and promise the applicability of the morphological Laplacian operator.

  • Image denoising is considered as a key factor for capturing high-quality photos in digital cameras. Thus far, several image denoising methods have been proposed in the past decade. In addition, previous studies either relied on deep learning-based approaches or used the hand-crafted filters. Unfortunately, the previous method mostly emphasized on image denoising regardless of preserving or recovering the detail information in result images. This study proposes an detail extraction network to estimate detail information from a noisy input image. Moreover, the extracted detail information is utilized to enhance the final denoised image. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can outperform the existing works by a subjective measurement.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of the visual evaluation about Clothing form and the surface image of detail. This study consists of pre-experiment for selecting the method of expression among detail which shows difference of the image and main experiment for identifying the clothing image as clothing form and the suface image of detial. Main experiment is made of factorial design for three variables-clothing form (H-line, A-line, V-line, X-line), detail (frill, tape), direction (width, length). Questionaire consists of 24 semantic differential scale expressing clothing form and detail. The subjects were 100 female students majoring in clothing and textile.7he data were analyzed by Frequencey, Factor analysis, Anova, scheffe's test and MCA method. The major findings were; 1) The image of clothing form and the surface image of detail were composed of 5 factors; attractiveness, prettiness, attention, modern, young. 2) For the visual evaluation of clothing form as the surface image of detail, there were significant differences in prettiness and attention factors. For the pretty and attentive image, we should express by the image of frill. 3) For the visual evaluation of the image of detail as clothing forms variation, there were significant difference in prettiness by A-line and X-line. 4) For the effect of clothing form and the surface image of detail, main effect was significant in attractiveness, prettiness, attention, modern factor. For the pretty image of clothing, it will be expressed by the image of frill and A-line, X-line. For the attentive image of clothing, it will be expressed by the image of frill and V-line. For the modern image of clothing, it will be expressed by the image of tape and V-line.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the Detail&Trimming from 16C to 18C, so called 'the age of decoration' and how they had been applied to contemporary fashion through various collections. Then this study investigated decorative trends based on the frequency analysis. For the methods of study, using literature review, theoretical research was conducted to investigate the kinds of modern clothing accessories and analyze how they were applied to contemporary fashion and its trends. The period of empirical research was from 2000 to 2006 S/S with its focus on "Mode et Mode", a representative fashion magazine. As a result, for detail, decorative composition, surface decoration, and trimming, detail-applied decorative designs showed the highest percent. To get a closer look, the highest applied decorative technique was found rough collar in the detail; fringing in the decorative composition; slash in the surface decoration; and jewelry in the trimming.

  • High dynamic range (HDR) images can present the perfect real scene and rich color information. A commonly encountered problem in practical applications is how to well visualize HDR images on standard display devices. In this paper, we propose a multi-scale decomposition method using guided filtering for HDR image tone mapping. In our algorithm, HDR images are directly decomposed into three layers:base layer, coarse scale detail layer and fine detail layer. We propose an effective function to compress the base layer and the coarse scale detail layer. An adaptive function is also proposed for detail adjustment. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm effectively accomplishes dynamic range compression and maintains good global contrast as well as local contrast. It also presents more image details and keeps high color saturation.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the methodology of structural planning and detail, maintaining a close connection between architect and structural engineer. Actually it is difficult to solve a detail in a special structure, without investigation of structural behavior. In such a detail, it is hard to estimate the accurate flow of force, no more than a formative presentation. I will purpose to solve the processing of desirable detail, as a point of engineer's view, under the cooperative relationship between architect and structural engineer.
