Oxidation Reaction Characteristics of Waste Slurry in the Wet Desulfurization Process Using Mg(OH)$_2$ Absorbent (Mg(OH)$_2$를 이용한 습식탈황에서 폐슬러리 산화반응특성 연구)

  • Mg(OH)$_2$를 흡수제로 이용한 습식탈황에서 페슬러리에 대한 산화반응 특성을 고려하였다. SO3-2 전환율 (MgSO3 폐슬러리의 산화반응 전환율) 과 산소의 물질전달특성을 고찰하기 위해 회분식 및 연속식 실험을 수행하였따. 3리터 용량을 갖는 직사각형모양의 아크릴 반응기에서 공기/슬러리 공급비(20-60) , 수리학적 체류시간(HRT)(1-3hr), SO3-2 유입농도(1000-3000ppm)등의 변화조건에서 실험이 행하여졌다. 실험결과 SO3-2 전환율은 공기공급량과 체류시간에 비례하여 증가하였다. 또한 슬러리 공급에 대한 최적공기공급비 0.02ι/(ι.ppm)에서 MgSO3 폐슬러리는 90%이상 산화되었다.

A study on Calcination Characteristics of Corbicula japonica and Ostrea virginica (재첩과 굴 패각의 소성에 관한 연구)

  • The calcination characteristics of the waste Corbicula Japonica and Ostrea virginjca shell were examined for the future use as desulfurization sorbent. The weight variation was measured according to thermal-decomposition using TGA and observed variation of the phase. The qualitative and quantitative analysis of the sample were performed using XRD and the structural analysis, SEM. The results of TGA and XRD experiments showed that the almost all of the raw samples Corbicula Japonica and Ostrea virginjca were changed from calcite to lime by firing and calcination reaction. The result of SEM experiment showed that the plate type of the raw sample was changed to circle type, so the surface area ratio was increased. Above results suggested that waste Corbicula Japonica and Ostrea virginjca were usable in the viewpoint of the reuse of resource and the decrease of environmental pollution.

  • The waste seashells were used for the removal of hydrogen sulfide from a hot gas stream, The sulphidation of waste seashells with H$_2$S was studied in a thermogravimetric analyzer at temperature between 600 and 800${\circ}$C . The desulfurization performance of the waste seashell sorbents was experimentally tested in a fixed bed reactor system. Sulfidation experiments performed under reaction conditions similar to those at the exit of a coal gasifier showed that preparation procedure and technique, the type and the amount of seashell, and the size of the seashell affect the H2S removal capacity of the sorbents. The pore structure of fresh and sulfided seashell sorbents was analyzed using mercury porosimetry, nitrogen adsorption, and scanning electron microscopy.

  • It seems very difficult to comply with upcoming stringent emission standards in vehicles. To develop low emission engines, better quality of automotive fuels must be achieved. Since sulfur contents in diesel fuels are transformed to sulfate-laden particulate matters as a catalyst is applied, it is necessary to provide low sulfur fuels before any Pt-based oxidation catalysts are applied. In general, flash point, distillation $90\%$ and cetane index are improved but viscosity can be worse in the process of desulfurization of diesel fuel. Excessive reduction of sulfur may cause to degrade viscosity of fuels and engine performance in fuel injection systems. This research focused on the performance of an 11,000 cc diesel engine and emission characteristics by the introduction of ULSD, bio-diesel and a diesel oxidation catalyst, where the bio-diesel was used to improve viscosity of fuels in fuel injection systems as fuel additives or alternative fuels.

  • 탄화수소 연료(LNG, LPG)를 개질하여 수소를 제조하는 연료 처리 공정 중, 탈황 기술은 촉매의 활성저하 및 전극의 피독을 방지하기 위한 필수 기술이다. 본 연구에서는 도시가스 및 액화석유 가스용 부취제로 사용되는 유기 황화합물(,DMS, THT, TBM)을 제거하기 위한 탈황제로서 Cu/ZnO계 흡착제를 개발하였다. 공침법을 이용하여 흡착제를 제조하여 각 부취제별로 상온 및 고온에서의 흡착탈황 성능을 조사하였으며 또한, 이의 특성분석을 행하였다. $Cu/ZnO/Al_2O_3$ 탈황제는 메탄으로부터 고온에서 TH, DMS, TBM+THT 등의 황화합물들을 매우 효과적으로 제거할 수 있었다. 특히, TBM+THT의 혼합가스에서 TBM에 대해 선택적인 흡착을 보였다. THT 흡착에서 흡착온도가 $300^{\circ}C$ 이상에서는, 흡착과정 동안 황의 상호작용으로 인해 금속황화물이 생성되었다.

Isolation and Characterization of a Dibenzothiophene Degrading Sulfate-Reducing Soil Bacterium

  • Sulfate-reducing bacteria have been isolated from soil and their abilities to degrade dibenzothiophene (DBT) were compared with those of type cultures. Among the strains tested a soil isolate M6 showed the highest ability to degrade DBT. Isolate M6 was characterized as a mesophilic obligatory anaerobe. The morphology of the bacterium was vibrioid with the size of $0.4-0.7{\;}\mu\textrm{m}{\;}by{\;}1.0-1.5{\;}\mu\textrm{m}$. Gram reaction was negative and nonsporulating. Desulfoviridin is present. Lactate, pyruvate, ethanol and malate supported growth of the bacterium in the presence of sulfate. Sulfate, sulfite, thiosulfate and sulfur served as electron acceptors for growth. Hydrogenase was present. The mol% of guanine and cytosine of DNA was determined as 56%. The bacterium produced viscous material. From these results, the isolate M6 was identified as Desulfovibrio desulfuricans.

  • 석탄이나 석유와 같은 화석연료의 연소 시 대기 중에 발생되는 황산화물의 배출저감 방법으로서 사용연료의 황 함유량을 감소시키는 연소 전 처리방법과 연소과정 중 제거방법, 연소 후 제거하는 방법으로 구분할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 전기 생산능력 40만 kW 급 중유화력 발전소의 연료 연소 후 배기가스 중 황 성분을 제거하는 방법으로 석회석 슬러리와 배기가스를 효과적으로 접촉시켜 SOx 와 먼지 등의 환경오염물질을 제거하고 부산물로 재활용 가능한 고순도의 석고를 생산하게 되는 JBR (Jet Bubbling Reactor) 형식의 습식 석회석-석고법 배연탈황 시스템을 소개하고자 한다.(중략)

A study for use a vanadium oxide in steel manufacture (제강 공정중 산화바나듐활용 연구)

  • Fe-V is used as raw material of vanadium in the steel making process. The purpose of this study, Fe-V is to replace the $VO_{4}$. So the distribution behavior of vanadium in $VO_{4}$ of the steel investigated. The distribution ratio of the vanadium where potential of the free oxygen ion will increase in slag decreased. When CaO and MgO content which is a basic oxide from CaO-$SiO_2$-FetO-MgOsatd. slag increases, S distribution ratio increases. CaO-$SiO_2$-FetO-MgOsatd. slag better than CaO-$SiO_2$-$Al_2O_3$-MgO slag is the recovery of vanadum and desulfurization.

Reliability Evaluation of a Slurry Pump (슬러리 펌프의 신뢰성 향상)

  • Purpose: A slurry pump for flue gas desulfurization system performs a role that discharges the slurry of a plaster shape in a thermal power plant. Since a slurry pump transfers the slurry by the centrifugal force, it has the friction wear in the impeller and liner because of the slurry. Methods: In this study, failure analysis and test evaluation on the slurry pump have been proposed and the process that reliability of the product improves through design improvement has been presented. And failure cause of typical failure case has been investigated and improvement design has been presented. Results: Reliability improvement is established by analysis of the test results of before and after acceleration test. Conclusion: This study can be provided to improve the product reliability through failure analysis of a slurry pump.
