  • An advanced real-time satellite simulator (ARTSS) has been developed to support the ground operations activities of the ETRI satellite control system, such as testing of the system facilities, validation of flight control procedures, verification of satellite commands as well as training of the ground operators. The design of ARTSS is based on the top-down approach and makes use of a modular programming to ensure flexibility in modification and expansion of the system. Graphics-based monitoring and control facilities enhance the satellite simulation environment. The software spacecraft model in ARTSS simulates the characteristics of a geostationary communication satellite using a momentum bias three-axis stabilization control technique. The system can be also interfaced with a hardware payload subsystem such as Ku-band communication transponder to enhance the simulator capability. Therefore, ARTSS is a high fidelity satellite simulation tool that can be used on low-cost desk top computers. In this paper, we describe the design features, the simulation models and the real-time operating functions of the simulator.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the interior architecture design studio through the pedagogical method of educational technology for college students who lack self-directed learning. The pedagogical method has been organized to make a student-centered class based on the operation of existing architectural design studios. This teaching and learning method emphasizes the role of teachers as facilitators to help students lacking in self-directed learning in the design process, the BIM visualization to give students an expression of design project and the critics to give students an experience of working circumstances. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, This pedagogical model can improve the self-directed learning of students, accomplish the design process well through teamwork, and provide problem based learning (PBL) to settle obstacles that come up during the project. Second, through this model, students can improve their field design capacity by instructor, design feedback and criticism. Finally, This model can suggest new pedagogical methods for interior architectural design studios and management of student-centered studios.

  • The demand on design for human diversity is increasing in the field of spatial design. This study evaluated the spatial environment of G elementary school in point of universal design. The study was carried out by the observing and measuring method and the survey method. It focused on 53 universal design related items which consisted of 5 principles; accessibility, supportiveness, adaptiveness, safety, and equality. The subjects for the survey were 170 students from first to sixth grade of G elementary school. Findings were as follows ; 1) The elementary school had many barriers for the wheelchair users to use. 2) The width of door and passage between desks, and the front and back space in classroom were not wide to pass through. Also, the students responded that the size of desk, chair, and individual locker was not enough. That is, Some items of accessibility and supportiveness were not met in classrooms. 3) Most items related to restroom were evaluated negatively by the students. 4) The dining tables were arranged monotonously in a rows. This emphasized the institutional mood. 5) Some evaluations to their school environment were significantly different by their gender and grade.

  • Cultural products, applying the design elements of cultural heritage Bekuje content of the product, we chose the useful material that can be used on a desk stand in the smart-phone Sticky Notes (Post-it) for use in modern life. The goal of the development design, developed in the design and excavation element modeling can be taking advantage of the characteristics of traditional decor come connected by a pattern of Baekje, eggplant in harmony with modern life, a new sense was harmony, design. He stressed the beauty of decorative molding to apply discriminatory morphological changes associated with each, a unique pattern of human pattern Jinmyosu Bekuje was elected to the motif of cultural property. You can also use a visual representation of the beauty obviously sophisticated pattern that appears frequently in Baekje, was also emphasized inheritance and traditions of Korea. We also attempted a new way to make sure we can diversify and whether it is possible as a new form, enhance the value of products, from concept to molt general existing tourism products.

  • Diseases such as cardiovascular illnesses, according to the National Statistical Office opened reveals that 600-800 people were killed, blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, heart disease, stroke, etc. will be a flow of blood disorders that occur in cardiovascular illnesses today are fulfilling the Master / Slave samangryulin disease appears high. Died of cardiovascular disease also told them the correct first aid survival when patients are accounted for approximately 40% of emergency rapid response is required. Therefore, this paper, the weak classifier in the AdaBoost algorithm to generate a strong classifier by combining effects throughout the analysis to measure the ECG, and cardiovascular disease that occurred to you as soon as the emergency management system that can deliver on the proposed Desk was. The electrocardiogram data measured by the ZigBee-based sensors, communication devices and emergency transport for emergency alarms in the determination and monitoring of the management desk by providing health services to enable the delivery was fast.

  • This study evaluated non-liturgical space of catholic churches based on the four principles of universal design; accessible design, supportive design, safety-oriented design, and adaptable design. To design those spaces in terms of supportive design principle, diaper exchanging station needs to be placed in the restroom. Findings of this study are as follows: In terms of accessible design, valid width of entrance door to each room(more than 800mm), installation of elevator, height of riser in the stair, and width of step board were appropriate, but there were many spaces where door sils were not removed. In terms of supportive design, notice board at teacher's room and installation of storage closet, and width of passage to office(more than 1,200mm) were also appropriate, but storage closet at a meeting and prayer room, and space for storing flowers appeared inappropriate. To design those spaces in terms of supportive design principle, diaper exchanging station needs to be placed in the restroom. In terms of safety-oriented design, installation of round-edged furniture, use of non-slip flooring material, installation of safety emergency bell at a restroom, and installation of wall handle were required. In terms of adaptable design, space for wheelchair users at each room, installation of the furniture that can adjust the height, installation of desk with different height at an office, installation of toilet and basin considering children were considered to be necessary.

  • Virtual Reality fields see the popularization era. Desk-top VR industries are under rapid development, concentrating on various Web VR applications. Performing user navigation in 3D virtual space is a complicate process in which one is looking for a way with understanding logical structures established in a virtual space and noticing established interactions. It is not a process established by a user, but a technical, skillful and conceptual process carefully designed and constructed at the pre-production stage. Therefore, in this paper technical, skillful and conceptual basic theories, related with the interactive navigation in a 3D virtual space, are thoroughly discussed.

  • The development of competitive new product is essential in competitiveness power of modern enterprises. The enterprises need to develop new products for its continuous growth. In this paper, a new product development process which reflect voice of customer in design of the product is suggested. Delighters in Kano's quality model are applied in primary design step. In the main design step, we analyze that whether Kano's primary satisfiers satisfy the customer needs which was found using Timko's customer satisfaction coefficient. It is shown that Kano's delighters and Timko's customer satisfaction coefficient are very effective in new product development.

  • In the radically changing market situation, surface materials of student furniture are a very important element to decide the consumption pattern and the market price. Thus, this study examined the characteristics of surface materials by classifying the student furniture into children's, juniors', and seniors' furniture while accessing the features of such surface materials through Glulam, veneer, poly paper, finishing foil, high pressure melamine (HPM), and low pressure melamine (LPM), and PVC vinyl. When taking a look at the surface materials that were most frequently produced in each domestic furniture company, the combined materials that used more than 2 elements (31.88%), LPM (23.19%), and Glulam (20.29%) were introduced at the market in the order. Regarding the analysis made on colors, the combination colors took more than half (55.32%) followed by brown (13.83%) and beige (11.7%) in the order. Based on the results derived from the analysis, the study suggests to stress more importance to surface materials when developing student furniture and to exert efforts for the consistent development of new materials and quality improvement, as a way to accelerate the development of the furniture industry in Korea.
