The Animal symbol in Lee Hyo-seok's short story (이효석 단편소설 「돈(豚)」에 나타나는 동물상징)

  • This study analyzes the animal symbolism shown in the novella by Hyoseok Lee and seeks to shed light on the consciousness of the author expressed through such symbolism. Lee used animal symbolism since 1933 which was a literary turning point for him. Animal symbolism in his novels are more than an analogical theme but is used as a core meaning and image. This has a clear intention of the author underneath. Novella which is seen as the starting point of pure literature for Lee, uses the animal pig as a key symbol. The pig serves as a symbol of the capital for poor farmers, while also serving as an amplifier for the desires of the protagonist. The death of the pig that appears at the closing of the novella stands for the tragic reality of the farmers of the time who could not seek growth in their capital or realization of their desires. As such, has characteristics of pure literature but also represents the consciousness of the author who brings attention to the tragic reality of farmers. That is, is a work that realized the unique writing style of Lee and his animal symbolism to bring to life a middle way appraoch to realism and romanticism.

  • The discussion was started from the question about how literary linguistic expressions are reproduced in the movies. This study focuses on the cinematized version of Jelinek's "Die Klavierspielerin", the by Michael Haneke. and looking for cinematization of literary works and these aesthetic values. The original delicately describes the life of Erika who has been living under the supervision and control by her mother. The topic of the is the conflict between the controlling mother and the desires of the heroin Erika who has been living under the suppression. The world of suppression symbolized by her mother is described as closed and dark space while the world of Erika and her desires, represented by Walter is described as open and bright space. The life of Erika living under control symbolized by prison-like double doors, iron-barred window, darkness and shadow is abnormally distorted. Even the piano that must be the center of her life as a pianist is also one of the symbols of dark world of suppression.

  • Yang, Youngsun's 1001 has been a monumental "Web-toon" work optimized in Web Environment. This paper has intended to explain semantics of 1001 (reconstructed works of the Arabian Nights) by mimesis theory of desires and scapegoat mechanism of Ren$\acute{e}$ Girard; Shahriah, the protagonist, had been hurt by Queen's affair, but in the depth of his mind, he had suffered the problem of injured self-esteem by his model, father. However, Shahriah's mind had been recovered slowly by story therapy of Sheherezade. Sheherezade's story therapy had made up by contrasting states, violence and sacrificial love. In the very end, Shariah had solved all the problems of the structural Negativities by accepting his fate.

The Effect of Make-up Artist Experiences on Brand Loyalty through Mediation of Trust and Brand Satisfaction (메이크업 아티스트 체험이 신뢰와 브랜드 만족을 매개로 브랜드 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to determine the factors of the make-up artist experience and establish their effects on brand loyalty through the mediation of trust and brand satisfaction. The step of first surveyed the make-up artist experience level through precedent research and made concept frame of study. The step of second checked up the effects of make-up artist experience through the desires for change. The step of third established to the effects of brand loyalty through make-up artist experience brand through mediation of make-up artist trust and brand satisfaction. The survey was carried out on 440 women aged 20 to 40 who experienced make-up services in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Sejong and Daejeon. The data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0, and AMOS 18.0 using frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, structural model analysis and t-tests. 1)Make-up artist experiences were divided into informational/ relational experiences and emotional experiences. 2)Desires for change influenced positive effects about information/relational experience and emotional experience. 3)The information/relation experiences influenced positive effects about artist trust and brand satisfaction. 4)The emotional experiences influenced positive effects about make-up artist trust and brand satisfaction. 5) The make-up artist trust influenced positive effects about brand satisfaction. Trust in the make-up artist did not directly influence brand loyalty, but influenced it through satisfaction. 6)The brand satisfaction influenced positive effects about brand loyalty. This study identified the roles of make-up artist and the importance of the make-up experience.

Mothers' Experiences on Early Childhood English Education for Their Children (유아기 자녀의 영어교육에 대한 어머니들의 경험)

  • The purpose of this study was to understand deeply the current circumstances of parents who took part in child-English Education through semantic analysis about 11 mothers' and their children's experiences in the individual depth interviews and group interviews. The obtained results of this study were as follows: First, mothers started their children's English education on the basis of the belief that English ability is an essential asset in the era of globalization, their experiences and the scheduled situation. Also they positively recognized the effect of English education when they could feel their children's learning improvements. Second, participants had experienced their children's education stress and economic burden. Third, participants had personal, social level desires for their children's proper English education. Through this study, it revealed the critical introspection about mothers' experiences and desires in child-English Education. And it alluded to necessity about continuous attention and debate in child-English Education.

Changes in Cinematic Spatiality of Gwanghwamun and its Surrounding Areas : Focusing on Korean Films of the 1950s-2010s (광화문과 주변지역의 영화적 공간성 변화 : 1950-2010년대 한국영화를 중심으로)

  • This paper want to examine how Gwanghwamun and its surrounding areas work in the cinematic spaces for Korean films of the 1950s-2010s. First, in Korean films of the 1950s-1960s, Myeong-dong(Namchon), Bukchon, Seochon, and Dongchon are the primitive, perceptual, existential spaces that show the underground world and tragic pathos in the splendid city through intense desires and fatal frustration, the shadows and conflicts of modernization. Second, in Korean films of the 1970s-1990s, Myeongdong·Jongno(Namchon·Bukchon), Seochon and Dongchon are the perceptual, existential spaces that show public revenge and private alienation through the dichotomy of freedom/evil and the dichotomy of wealth/poverty. Third, in Korean films of the 2000-2010s, Gwanghwamun(Seochon), Bukchon, Namchon, and Dongchon are the perceptual, existential spaces that show civil society ethos and gloomy requiem through national agendas, resistance movements, desires and losses, miserable reality and death.

Metaverse as a future living environment of Homo Culturalis (문화적 인간의 미래 생활환경으로서 메타버스)

  • In this paper, the metaverse is viewed as a future space for the living environment of Homo Culturalis. Although the metaverse is perceived as a digital 'virtual' space, it should be understood as an extension of the real space. A human dreams of a reincarnation in the digital space, but a human has a body that cannot be completely separated from the physical environment. This means that human activities are not disconnected from reality and more specifically the human existence ought to be found in the socio-cultural context of reality. If the way of life in Metaverse becomes increasingly common, humans should be able to access this metaverse as a reality. Therefore, in this paper, the metaverse that creates the world of creation, play, and empathy, becomes considered as the world of human life of Homo Culturalis, where the realization of human desires and desires in that world are made.

A study on the perspective of the human nature of Xiang-xiu (향수(向秀)의 인성(人性)에 대한 이해)

  • Xiang-xiu(向秀) tried to find compromise between naturalness(自然) and Confucian ethical code(名敎), the individual consciousness and the group consciousness in the Wei-Jin(魏晋) dynasty. He made his views on the human nature through the revealing of desire and morality of human. Xinag-xiu considered that the human nature comes from the ultimate principle of the nature(自然之理), so it's possible to provide reasonable basis to the meaning of the 'desire' and 'morality'. Furthermore, the 'desire' is regarded as the driving force of human life through the reasonable cognition, at the same time he insisted that we should control our passions by sociality and the social norm. So in the view of Xiang-xiu, the human nature has two characteristics, such as the principal of the driving force of human life and the control of the base desires and the negative desires. It could be confirmed by his opinions about the following human's nature and sticking to our last in the his Zhuangzizhu( 莊子注). Through the perspective of the human nature, Xiang-xiu emphasized the unification of the unaffected human nature and morality(sociality), the desire and the social norm.

  • Motherhood as an ideological construction has been regarded as an oppressing apparatus enforced by patriarchism. On the one hand, demystifying motherhood helps expose dehumanization of women, and accordingly liberate women from being an ideal mother. On the other hand, however, feminists' attempts to unearth the distorted images of mothers result in devaluation of such values as love and sacrifice attached to motherhood. "Tell Me a Riddle" by Tillie Olsen, who is a declared socialist as well as a feminist, occupies a significant position in a sense that it neither condemns motherhood as evil nor idealizes it. Through the main character, Eva, it examines the meaning of motherhood in a way that a real mother experiences it in a real life, and thus Olsen challenges the readers to ponder upon the mothers' dilemma: a conflict between a desire for self-fulfillment and sacrifice for others. Eva, a mother of seven grown-up children, and now dying, shows an ambivalent attitude toward motherhood. She realizes that she is a victim of idealized motherhood in that, toward the end of her life, she feels uncomfortable accepting her personal desires as they are. Yet at the same time, she appreciates her experiences as a mother in that she could consume her passion for the ideals as she has spent her youth working toward, trying to construct an idealistic socialist country. Eva's real ideal, as a human being, is to live "with" others, not just "for" others. In other words, she does not want to allow herself to live only for others in the name of the mother because she does not have any alternatives to do otherwise. Rather, she desires to live a life of voluntary sacrifice and love. In this way, through Eva, Olsen tries to help us to construct a community where we--not just mothers-can live "with" others.

Analysis of comic 'Monster' based on J. Lacan's psychoanalytic theory - Focused on desire theory - (자끄 라깡의 정신분석 이론으로 본 만화 '몬스터' 분석 - 욕망이론을 중심으로 -)

  • This study analyzed the comic "Monster" based on J. Lacan's psychoanalytic theory. J. Lacan advocated a new psychoanalytic theory through S. Freud's psychoanalytic theories and socio-cultural studies. The main theory of his theoretical background is the 'desire theory' which analyzed human desires. He distinguished human desires as desires and demands and had the basic proposition that 'human desire is the desire of the other'. J. Lacan (J. Lacan) studied in depth the relationship between oneself and others, which he defined by dividing it into an imaginary system (mirror stage), a symbolic system (Oedipus complex), and a real system (desiring subject). Based on these theories, the main purpose of this study is to analyze the comic "Monster" by Naoki Urasawa focused on the desire theory of J. Lacan based on psychoanalysis to examine what new meaning could be extracted. In order to analyze the comic "Monster", the qualitative research method was used and the method of analysis was the descriptive phenomenological method devised by Giorgi (1985). Through this analytical method, the background, characters, and symbols of "Monster" were analyzed and content analysis was performed based on the theory of Giorgi (1985) and the desire theory of J. Lacan As a result of the analysis of the meaning unit and components related to the desire theory through content analysis, the contents analysis was divided into four components: identification, reproduction of desire, alienation, and unique desire and freedom. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, on the basis of psychoanalysis, "Monster" is classified into four elements, identification of twin characters, reproduction of desire, feeling of alienation and unique desire and freedom of characters based on desire theory of J. Lacan. Second, the characters analyzed by the desire theory of J. Lacan attempted to reproduce their desires through identification and projection of twins due to their traumatic experience when they were young. Also, the characters who felt alienated in the process of reproduction made a tragic ending to complete human desire and freedom to fill in their emptiness. This result shows that desire theory of J. Lacan based on psychoanalysis can be used as a new analytical theory, a comic analysis which suggested a new meaning. The results of this study suggest that a new field of research, a comic analysis using psychological theory, needs to be created and further studies in this field are required.
