  • The use of various digital tools makes freeform modeling possible. At the same time, with the development of structural and construction technologies, Free-Form Architecture are beginning to be implemented realized, as the desired data extraction such as the size and coordinate points of the members is possible. Currently, in many cities around the world, Irregular-Shaped High-rise Buildings, which express the dynamic symbolism, are recognized for their landmark values. In order to realize the Irregular-Shaped High-rise Buildings, it is necessary to understand various fields such as the characteristics of digital tools, digital technique logic, design process, and construction method. In particular, it is important to plan Irregular-Shaped High-rise Buildings so that the various types of efficiency can be reviewed together, while generating understanding and formations from the initial design stage. Therefore, this study uses conceptual and parametric design tools related to form generation in digital architecture to analyze the details, methods, and characteristics of the Irregular-Shaped High-rise Buildings form generation process. In this paper, the parametric design tool is applied to study the various types of design and the process characteristics that can be considered in the initial design stage of the unstructured skyscraper.

  • The aim of this research is to develop communication model and tools that would help in incorporating user experience into information appliance product development. To do so, this research suggested three major modelling techniques, including user-experience model, design strategy model and experience product model. Using these modelling tools, any members in design teams (investigator and designers) will be able to communicate their own ideas and research results each other at any period of the product development process. Each tools have distinct factors that would help identify elements in the user research stages, idea generation stages and product development stages. To verify the efficiency of these models, the case study was conducted with final year students at their studio class. As a result, the benefit of using these tools were identified as 1) these tools accelerate the communication between user researchers, designers and engineers and 2) evaluation process of the product is much more dearer that before. and 3) various user research techniques can be explored.

  • Nowadays the market for diamond tools grows rapidly. The present decline in the price of industrial diamond makes it a commoditised product capable of competing with conventional abrasives. In terms of production volume, the largest group of diamond tools comprises the metal-bonded diamond impregnated tools, such as sawblades, wire saws, and core drills for cutting stone and construction materials, and core bits for mining applications. This article provides a compendious coverage of the powder metallurgy (PM) diamond tool-making routes, and identifies the recent trends towards changing the tool design and composition to render it cheaper and more efficient.

  • This paper introduces that the machine tools's feed system optimizes by modeling for simulation and adjusting drive control parameter. The first method is frequency response of speed loop with design parameter by use of MATLAB application, in order that other axis can do equal to bandwidth. The second meted uses various sensor for analyzing machine tools's structure and adjustes jirk limitter.

  • Recently, various web page development tools for both the beginner and the experienced user are introduced. These tools allow them to generate web pages easily and quickly. However the web pages generated by the tools have lots of functional limitations. Generally authors must have much knowledge for web authoring tools, HTML, CGI programming to open web sites for special purpose. Especially, most of the lecture supporting web site necessarily requires much effort to construct it as well as special functions using CGI, Javascript, Java Applet, etc. to generate dynamic web pages. In order to solve above mentioned limitations, we design and implement an automatic web site construction system using RASIS based on remote execution technologies.

  • The needs of ultraprecision machine tools, which manufacture and machine the high precision parts used in computers, semiconductors and othe rprecise machines, have been increased recentrly. So it is important to design the driving parts of the ultraprecision machine tools which affect significantly on the performance of them. In this paper, the dynamic analyses on the belt-drive system were studied. The correlational equations between the acoustic natural frequency and the tension of belt were derived by experiments. The dynamic delections while the dynamic loads on the motor system changed were analyzed by the finite element analysis. The nonlinear characteristics of the bearings on the dynamic performance was studied and the belt connecting the motor to the spindle of a machine tool was modeled by the truss element and the beam element.

  • In order to manufacture precision parts which are used for IT and BT Industry by machining, users need higher speed & precision machining center. So, for development of this kind of machine, we designed gantry type machining center which is piling of 3 axes on one moving body and the 2-axis rotary table is fixed on the base. It is applied linear motor that is instead of ball-screw and servo-motor combination and 50,000 rpm high-speed spindle. Composite material structure called mineral casting or resin concrete is applied also. This paper presents design technology and evaluated results of high speed and precision machining center.

  • For the development of automobile lighting components, various designers, developers and manufacturing personnel are involved, each group needing different software tools. In this Smartlite project, several software tools were developed far product development of the lighting components and then tested using two different user interfaces (UIs); the first was based on a commercial CAD system (SDRCI-DEAS) and the second was based on a web browser. The specific focus of this study was a comparison between the new web-based UIs, and the UIs on commercial CAD systems. The usability data have been collected from the users at Visteon and showed that the web-based UIs provided comparable functionality with the CAD-based UIs in terms of performance and usefulness. For the criteria of accessibility, the web-based tools out-performed the CAD-based tools.
