위성용 전장품 탑재보드의 Power Integrity 및 Signal Integrity 설계 분석을 통한 노이즈 성능 개선 (Improvement of Noise Characteristics by Analyzing Power Integrity and Signal Integrity Design for Satellite On-board Electronics)

  • 본 연구에서는 위성용 전장품 보드의 성능 요구조건과 설계 복잡도가 높아지면서 증가되는 노이즈 문제를 최소화하기 위해 전원 건전성(Power Integrity) 및 신호 건전성(Signal Integrity)의 설계 분석이 수행되었고 이를 통해 적용된 설계 개선 내용을 기술하였다. 전원 건전성은 정전류 전압강하(DC IR drop) 해석을 통해 정적 전원의 특성을 분석하였고, 각 전원의 임피던스 해석을 통해 동적 전원의 특성을 분석하여 각 분석 결과를 이용한 설계 개선 방안들이 적용되었다. 신호 건전성 측면에서는 주요 데이터버스 신호에 대한 시간영역 파형 분석과 PCB(Printed Circuit Board) 설계 수정을 통해 노이즈가 개선된 결과를 확인하였다. 또한 설계된 PCB 보드의 전원 층에 대한 공진모드를 분석하여 발생된 공진 영역들에 완화 조치를 적용하였고 조치결과를 시뮬레이션을 통해 확인하였다. 최종적으로 분석을 통해 설계 개선이 적용된 유닛에 대해 수정 전과 후의 EMC(Electro Magnetic Compatibility) RE(Radiated Emission) 노이즈 측정결과를 비교함으로써 방사성 노이즈가 감소되었음을 확인하였다.

Optimum Design of the Power Yacht Based on Micro-Genetic Algorithm

  • The optimum design of power yacht belongs to the nonlinear constrained optimization problems. The determination of scantlings for the bow structure is a very important issue with in the whole structural design process. The derived design results are obtained by the use of real-coded micro-genetic algorithm including evaluation from Lloyd's Register small craft guideline, so that the nominal limiting stress requirement can be satisfied. In this study, the minimum volume design of bow structure on the power yacht was carried out based on the finite element analysis. The target model for optimum design and local structural analysis is the bow structure of a power yacht. The volume of bow structure and the main dimensions of structural members are chosen as an objective function and design variable, respectively. During optimization procedure, finite element analysis was performed to determine the constraint parameters at each iteration step of the optimization loop. optimization results were compared with a pre-existing design and it was possible to reduce approximately 19 percents of the total steel volume of bow structure from the previous design for the power yacht.

  • KEPCO constructed the first 765kV 2 circuit transmission line in the world with its home grown technologies. Through this 765kV transmission system project, KEPCO accumulated experience and technologies related to the 765 kV power system. Based on the successful completion of the 765kV transmission project, KEPCO is conducting overseas business by using its abundant experience and know-how. In particular, KEPCO developed the training course for power system, called the ATT (Advanced Transmission Technology) training courses for overseas business, especially for developing countries. Therefore, KEPCO developed the "Transmission line design system for overseas projects". This system supports the calculation of wind pressure load, tower design, wire selection, insulation design, etc. by applying the meteorological data of foreign countries and design standards. And this system is applied to the training program so that the trainees can design the optimal transmission line for their own countries.

  • 인간동력항공기의 개념을 분석하여 최고 성능의 인간동력항공기 개발을 위하여 필요시되는 동력증강 및 항력감소 설계에 대하여 연구하였다. 2012년 인간동력항공기 시범경진대회에 출전하기 위하여 유선형 동체 채택에 의한 항력저감 및 팔과 다리 힘 동시사용에 의한 동력증강개념을 제시하였으며 개념 확인을 위하여 동체의 전산해석 및 동력장치 설계를 수행하였다. 유선형 동체의 효과를 최대한 이용하기 위해서는 동체형상 설계가 중요하며 팔의 동력을 이용하기 위해서는 조종 장치의 설계가 중요하고 비행실험이 요구된다.

  • The delay-insensitive Null Convention Logic (NCL) asynchronous design as one of innovative asynchronous logic design methodologies has many advantages of inherent robustness, power consumption, and easy design reuses. However, transistor-level structures of conventional NCL gate cells have weakness of high area overhead and high power consumption. This paper proposes a new NCL gate based on power gating structure. The proposed $4{\times}4$ NCL multiplier based on power gating structure is compared to the conventional NCL $4{\times}4$ multiplier and MTNCL(Multi-Threshold NCL) $4{\times}4$ multiplier in terms of speed, power consumption, energy and size using PTM 45 nm technology.

  • This paper deals with the design of power topology for nuclear power plants. Although rod control system is still classified into non-safety class. much attention on its reliability issue has been given so far because of its importance for the stable operation of the reactor in the plant. In terms of technical aspects, proposed design is reviewed to satisfy system requirements. This paper deals with a design of power topology for driving Control Element Drive Mechanism (CEDM) that is used to withdraw or insert control rods in nuclear reactor.

설계 및 공정 변수에 따른 600 V급 IGBT의 전기적 특성 분석 (Analysis of The Electrical Characteristics of Power IGBT According to Design and Process Parameter)

  • In this paper, we analyzed the electrical characteristics of NPT planar and trench gate IGBT after designing these devices according to design and process parameter. To begin with, we have designed NPT planar gate IGBT and carried out simulation with T-CAD. Therefore, we extracted design and process parameter and obtained optimal electrical characteristics. The breakdown voltage was 724 V and The on state voltage drop was 1.746 V. The next was carried out optimal design of trench gate power IGBT. We did this research by same drift thickness and resistivity of planar gate power IGBT. As a result of experiment, we obtain 720 V breakdown voltage, 1.32 V on state voltage drop and 4.077 V threshold voltage. These results were improved performance and fabrication of trench gate power IGBT and planar gate Power IGBT.

  • KEPCO conducted the project called the "Feasibility Study for the Han (Ghana) - Bobo Dioulasso (Burkina Faso) - Bamako (Mali) Interconnection Project" as its first African project. This paper deals with power system analysis and Transmission line and substation design of approximately 750 kilometers of the 225 kV single circuit transmission lines and six substations. The main contents of the power system analysis results and preliminary engineering design include power flow, transient stability, eigenvalue analysis, transmission line design, substation design and economic analysis.

  • This paper proposes a method for designing the inductor to minimize power loss for boost converter. The proposed inductor design method uses genetic algorithm to find an optimal inductance and an optimal frequency which minimize the power loss at rated power. The validity of proposed inductor design method is verified by simulation and experiment.

  • Design of single stage AC/DC converter with high power factor and high efficiency based on half-bridge topology for low power application is proposed. To obtain design equations, modelling and detailed analysis are performed. The proposed converter gives and power factor and high efficiency by employing aynchronous rectifiers. To verify the performances of the proposed converter 90W-converter has been designed. This prototype converter meets IEC555-2 requirements with near unity power factor.
