본 논문은 적정기술 공학설계 교육 워크숍의 한가지 모델을 제시함을 목적으로 한다. 2008년 여름방학부터 최근 4년간 한동대학교 공학교육혁신센터와 (사)나눔과기술에서 공동 주관하여 실시한 네차례의 전국 대학생 대상의 적정기술 워크숍내용을 제시하고 그 효과를 분석하고자 한다. 본 적정기술 공학설계 워크숍은 공학기술에 대한 연구개발의 대부분이 전세계의 구매력있는 소수의 10%만을 위해서 집중되어 있고 나머지 90%는 공학기술의 혜택에서 소외되어 있다는 문제의식에 기반하고 있기에, 본 워크숍을 "소외된 90%를 위한 공학설계 아카데미"로 명명하여 개최하고 있다. 본 워크숍에서는 대학생들에게 전세계적 빈곤의 문제를 생각하게 하고 세계적 빈부격차 해소에 공학인들이 자신의 전공을 통하여 어떻게 기여할 수 있는지 제시하고 이를 실천할 수 있는 발판을 제공하고자 한다. 그동안의 워크숍 진행에 대한 참여 학생들의 평가 결과는 매우 긍정적이다. 특별히, 2010년 여름부터는 제3세계 소외된 지역의 현지인들을 초청하여 설계문제의 고객의 역할을 부여하여 설계워크숍의 진행에 참여시키고 있다. 학생들과 현지인들로부터 매우 긍정적인 평가를 받고 있다. 더불어 본 적정기술 공학설계 워크숍의 교육적인 효과에 대해서는, 공학교육인증에서 추구하는 학습성과 중, 설계능력 뿐아니라 복합학제적 팀워크, 의사소통, 공학의 사회적 영향력에 대한 이해, 공학윤리, 국제화 등 대부분의 소프트 스킬을 실질적으로 향상시키는 효과를 가지고 있는 것으로 분석 결과에 나타났다.

The Purpose of this study is to comprehend the form of Post-modernism in 1980~90 Fashion by comparing to the representative form of Modernism. For empirical data, photographs and critics about fashion were collected from Vogue fashion magazine to differentiate from other studies which is mostly analysed from collection. The results are as follows: The Modernism in fashion can be epitomized simple and functional form as a rational costume and Post-modern fashion expresses all sorts of emotion as a react of rational theme of modernism with manners of anti-formal pluralism such as pastiche, parody and Kitsch. The fashion in 1980-90s in Vogue expressed as follow :1) The Postmodernism is well exploited around 1990 and costrained by traditional and classical Mode. 2) The other main character of Postmodernism, romantic eroticism is broadly expressed with material and slim curved body conscious line. 3) The Modernism and Postmodernism coexisted in the end of 1990, in more matured format.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is software that learns large amounts of data and provides the desired results for certain patterns. In other words, learning a large amount of data is very important, and the role of memory in terms of computing systems is important. Massive data means wider bandwidth, and the design of the memory system that can provide it becomes even more important. Providing wide bandwidth in AI systems is also related to power consumption. AlphaGo, for example, consumes 170 kW of power using 1202 CPUs and 176 GPUs. Since more than 50% of the consumption of memory is usually used by system chips, a lot of investment is being made in memory technology for AI chips. MRAM, PRAM, ReRAM and Hybrid RAM are mainly studied. This study presents various memory technologies that are being studied in artificial intelligence chip design. Especially, MRAM and PRAM are commerciallized for the next generation memory. They have two significant advantages that are ultra low power consumption and nearly zero leakage power. This paper describes a comparative analysis of the four representative new memory technologies.

This paper aims at the problem that design the network of Rig-star type with the minimum cost, which the Ring is composed of the selected nodes(concentrators) among the several candidate nodes on the network and other nodes(terminals) is connected to the Ring by star subnetwork. Especially, we consider the terminal reliability in network design problem. We develop the heuristic algorithm for network design problem to obtain the near optimal(best) solution for problem. We use an add-heuristic method and 2-exchange method in developing the heuristic algorithm.

복합재료 압력용기를 개발하기 위하여 설계, 제작, 시험을 연계한 연구가 수행되었다. 섬유의 와인딩 패턴 및 각도는 CADFIL 코드를 활용하여 결정하였고, 그 각도는 [$liner/15^{\circ}/15^{\circ}/90^{\circ}/18^{\circ}/90^{\circ}/21^{\circ}/21^{\circ}/90^{\circ}$] 이었다. 압력용기의 제작은 5축 필라멘트 와인딩기를 활용하여 이루어졌다. 제조 공정 중에 광섬유 센서를 매립하여 내부 압력이 가해질 때 각 지점에서 스트레인을 측정하였다. 광섬유가 실험적으로 사용된 반면에 일반적으로 적용하는 스트레인 게이지를 부착하여 안정적인 시험결과를 확보하였다. 가압 시험결과는 유한요소 해석 결과와 비교하였고 그 결과는 유사한 일치를 보여주었다. 이 과정을 통하여 개구부 한개를 지닌 복합재료 압력용기의 설계, 제작 및 시험평가가 성공적으로 이루어져 제조기술의 확보가 가능하였다.

For the two decades, the modern furniture design has pursued a variety of conceptions characterized by the Post-modernism, new international styles called Memphism, High-tech, the Post-Industrial design and Deconstruction. Along with these trends, the development of new materials and technology has not only made possible the emergence of innovative furnitures and other ultra-modern products, but also presented a wide range of sensitive designs. The fast development of digital technology will surely bring about globalization in all industrial fields in the next century. Amid this rapid changes, high-tech will merge with handcraft in the area of furniture design to offer economical and more innovative concepts. This will ultimately lead to the small scale production system of a wide variety of furnitures. In the coming century, we can pursue more individualized designs and concepts appealing to human nature.

PURPOSES: This study is to estimate nondestructive strength equation based on probability for bridges using field test data. METHODS : In this study, a series of the field inspection and the test have been performed on 297 existing bridges, in order to evaluate the bridges, based on the test results of the in-depth inspection, and the estimated strengths by means of the nondestructive strength equations are analyzed and compared with results of the core specimen strengths. RESULTS : According to results of analyses, In case of standard design compressive strength of concrete is 18MPa, 21MPa, similar reliability of RILEM equation were 0.89~0.90, but in case of standard design compressive strength of concrete is 35MPa, 40MPa were 0.4~0.56. According to standard design compressive strength of concrete is 40MPa, similar reliability of ultrasonic pulse velocity method equation were 0.56. CONCLUSIONS :RILEM equation had high similar reliability than other equation in case of standard design compressive strength of concrete is 18MPa, 21MPa, but had low similar reliability than other equation in case of standard design compressive strength of concrete is 35MPa, 40MPa. and ultrasonic pulse velocity method equation had low similar reliability than other equation in case of standard design compressive strength of concrete is 40MPa.

The concept of the design thinking can be effective in engineering design process especially in developing the appropriate technology product. In this paper we analyze the student's design activities during the 'Creative and Integrated Design Academy for the other 90%' to solve the problems in the developing countries from the perspective of the design thinking. Based on this analysis we propose the direction of the creative and integrated design activities to solve the appropriate technology products and also the direction of the future engineering design process.

The Eaton lens, with spherical symmetry to its refractive index, was described by Eaton in 1952 and was found recently in the design of an invisible sphere for cloaking. In this paper, an Eaton lens for rotating 90° was designed using Luneburg theory, by which we found it was a fourth-order equation in the refractive index n. Therefore, the refractive index n has four roots. The equation in n was solved and studied using mathematical technology. The unsuitable complex roots of the equation should be dropped; consequently, only one of the four roots remained. To verify the refractive-index profile, the only root was solved for, before a simulation using finite-element analysis (FEA) was performed. The simulation showed that all rays will bend 90° to the right. The result of the simulation is identical to our expectation. This treatment provides a possible method for rotating light at many other angles.

This study focuses on understanding the design characteristics of interior styles reflected in contemporary residential spaces by choosing and analyzing some design cases, reflecting interior styles of various countries, which is broadcasted through an interior design cable television in the U.S. Moreover, this study is meaningful because it provides a chance to extend the scope of study to the improving and developing Korean interior style for clarifying Korean identity to make Korean image by the comparison with other cultural spheres. In this study, after sorting 10 interior- style types and 90 design cases from the 12 cable television that mainly manage interior design projects, I grasp interior-design characteristics of each cases classified by form/expression and material. Research objects of the form/expression part for the interior-design characteristics are limited to furniture, textile, and ornaments, and those of material part are limited to furniture and ornaments.
