This study analyzed the expressions of racing girl uniforms that promote automobile brands shown at Seoul and Busan motor shows. The results are as follows. In each of the design components expression, the glossy and plain material, the achromatic color, and the dress style appeared most frequently in the uniform design of both domestic and foreign automobile brands. In the fashion image expression, sexy image appeared the most, followed by modern image, romantic image, active image, elegance image and ethnic image. Based on the analysis results, the following expressive characteristics were identified: First, sexy images were used in uniform design to express the streamline and speedy feeling of a car metaphorically. Second, modern image, glossy material, and achromatic color were used for a uniform design to express advanced technology and the future orientation of an automobile. Third, fashion images that match the automobile type emphasized the brand image of the car. Fourth, some of the manufacturers that prevailed in the automobile market promoted several automobile brands exhibited with a unified uniform design that expressed the design philosophy and concept. As such, the motor show racing girl uniform contributed to promoting automobile brand identity and the automobile industry.

The pixel art style evolved from the shortcomings of computer image display technology has gradually transformed from a technical limitation into a widely recognized form of artistic expression since development in the early 20th century. This study analyzes the application and characteristics of the expandability of pixel art style design content in sub industries such as physical goods, environmental design, website design, digital art and illustration in the design field. It aims to explore the visual expression and sustainable development form of pixel art style under the development of new media technology that contradicts traditional technological concepts. The research results show that although the pixel art style generally pursues external visual features such as pixelated visual effects, sawtooth and matrix arrangements, its expansion in the art field shows a unique diversity of visual expressions. It has become an important means to convey nostalgic emotions and cultural values. Through this research, we hope to inspire more academic researchers and technology practitioners to explore the development potential of the pixel art style in emerging fields and promote its innovative application in design practice.

오늘날의 인류는 인위적 환경에 현실적으로 적응하고 있는 동시에, 자연환경으로의 복귀를 지향하려는 행태를 보이고 있다. 실내공간에서의 자연과 인간 그리고 공간이 온전한 공존관계를 유지하여 비자연성, 비인간화를 극복하고 인간과 자연이 함께 교감하며 풍요로와질 수 있는 공간 조성이 절실하다고 할 수 있다. 실내공간에 있어서 환경친화적인 표현을 실내공간에 자연요소로 도입하는 방안과 인간의 주변에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 자연물 또는 질서 있는 변화를 가진 아름다운 형태를 인위적인 디자인 형태로 표현하는 방안으로 나눌 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 실내디자인에 있어서 환경친화적인 특성을 모색하기 위해 먼저 환경친화의 개념과 발달 과정을 정의해 보고, 실내공간에서 광범위하게 나타난 환경친화적인 표현의 특성 중 자연요소 도입과 디자인적인 형태 표현으로 구분하여 진행한다. 연구분석의 사례로는 많은 사람을 수용하는 울산광역시 공공시설의 실내공간으로 제안하였다. 환경친화적인 공간의 형성은 아름답고 쾌적한 생활공간 조성이라는 시대적 요구에 따라 관련 연구가 더욱더 활성화, 전문화되어야 할 것으로 판단된다. 실내공간에서의 자연적 요소와 디자인적 형태의 표현이 폭넓은 이해와 심도 있는 연구로 병행될 때 바람직한 환경친화적인 표현이 창출될 것으로 본다.

A rational and logical sense of design often found in modernism(including minimalism) sometime deal with the criticism that such characteristics which derived from those of modernism, lack emotion31 qualities(arises from human feelings). It consequently took them to adopt traditional designs in the past, creating such conditions that constantly escapes from‘present’ one and back to the‘new’. This mode develops a trend in current interior design which decorative elements such as art work: traditional arts, folk crafts, flowers and green are much evident. Thus, using many decorative elements of the past(what was once banned since modernism), brings up the interesting point of view that needs to be discussed a new decorative trend if today's interior design. It will approach by comparing significances of past decorative expressions with present through which investigation, will show a better understanding of recent characteristics in interior designing, a.k.a, a current trend since minimalism, embracing important qualities of culture, ecology and people - against today's less-inspired, standardizing spaces.

In choreography, the relationship between body and space is fundamental. Not only in the performing arts, it is an essential part in space design as well. In this sense, the comparison study between performing arts and space design will have various helpful aspects from which a creative design can be derived. This thesis aims to study spatial characteristics and expression methods in the choreography of performing arts that is dance in this case. The general background study of the relationship between body movement and space design in the modem art and architecture was explained in advance. And then its application in choreography was studied. Two case choreographers were selected: Merce Cunningham and Frederic Flamand. They have unique ways of designing and choreographing the relationship between body movements and stage spaces. This thesis attempts to find the differences as well as common characteristics between the two choreographers in terms of how they relate bodily movements and emotions into the given space.

In recent years, several LCL filter design methods for different converter topologies have been published, many of which use analytical expressions to calculate the ideal converter AC voltage harmonic spectrum. This paper presents the LCL filter design methodology but the focus is on presentation and validation of the non-iterative filter design method for a grid-connected three-phase two-level PWM-VSC. The developed method can be adapted for different converter topologies and PWM algorithms. Furthermore, as a starting point for the design procedure, only the range of PWM carrier frequencies is required instead of an exact value. System nonlinearities, usually omitted from analysis have a significant influence on VSC AC voltage harmonic spectrum. In order to achieve better accuracy of the proposed procedure, the system nonlinear model is incorporated into the method. Optimal filter parameters are determined using the novel cost function based on higher frequency losses of the filter. An example of LCL filter design for a 40 kVA grid-connected PWM-VSC has been presented. Obtained results have been used to construct the corresponding laboratory setup and measurements have been performed to verify the proposed method.

21세기로 접어들면서 공간의 확정성이 강하던 모더니즘에서 벗어나 디자인에 있어 시간성과 가변성, 불확정성을 수용하고 구조결정력이 약화되는 경향들이 나타나고 있다. 본 연구는 이런 시간성에 의한 변화의 개입이라는 요소가 디자인에서 수용되고 있는 상황을 인간중심 디자인과 행태지원성이라는 관점에서 연구해 보고자 한다. 시간성에 의한 변화라는 요소가 인간의 행동에 미치게 되는 영향을 심리학적 연결기제와 행태지원 측면을 중심으로 하여 알아본다. 또 이런 시간성에 의한 변화의 요인이 인간의 행태를 지원하는 방식에 의거해 시간성 디자인의 유형을 분류하고 각 유형별 사례들을 분석해 본다. 이를 통해 시간성에 의한 변화의 도입 경향이 인간의 심리에 어떠한 긍정적인 역할을 할 수 있는지와 현 시대의 시대성을 어떻게 표출하고 있는가를 검토해 보고자 한다.

The Subject of this research is building integrated library to supported to CAAD of the A.E.C field that is oriented to the environment of integrated design. In this research, we design and implement a new library model as a solution of design-data sharing and multi-displaying that is on the rise among many problems in construction integration. We name this integrated library ACO(Actual Component Object) and using the ACO, we can share data without loss in the fields such as construction, estimation, structure. Together with this, the different expressions along each field provide the solution of sharing both graphic data and non-graphic data. This ACO is a newly conceptualized Library that is able to supply a composite structure to an architect(designer) through the internet-based ACO System. To the ACO System that supplies those ACO service, we introduce the concept of DBMS in design and design administrator, and we investigate the solutions that enable an architect to use this ACO directly on the Web.

This study is to refer to the optimization problems when the stress and strength follow the time dependent model, considering a decision making process in the design methodology from reliability viewpoint. Reliability of a component can be expressed and computed if the probability distributions for the stress and strength in the time dependent case are known. The factors which determine the parameters of the distributions for stress and strength random variables can be controlled in design problems. This leads to the problem of finding the optimal values of these parameters subject to resources and design constraints. This paper is to present techniques for solving the optimization problems at the design stage like as minimizing the total cost to be spent on controlling the stress and strength parameters for random variables subject to the constraint that the component must have a specified reliability, alternatively, maximizing the component reliability subject to certain constraints on amount of resources available to control the parameters. The derived expressions and computations of reliability in the time dependent case and some optimization models of these cases are discussed. The special structure of these models is exploited to develop the optimization techniques which are illustrated by design examples.

As a part of Avant-Garde movement centered in Russia before and after the Revolution in 1917, Russian Constructivism was born as most experimental and avant-garde modernity artistic movement. Russian Constructivism played a significant part in relative to Avant-Garde in the beginning of twentieth century and has contributed to a series of artistic movement, it deserves a status befitting its contribution to modem abstract art. Noticing the fact that Constructivist approaches are being attempted in modern architecture with the new rise of Constructivist design theory and increased interest in Constructivism, this thesis explores the design elements characterizing Constructivism in art and architecture To be specific, it suggests the relation of Plastic paradigm in formalistic, elemental and technical aspects and categories into Plastic characteristics. Thereby, the thesis aims to categorize the elements in terms of contradicting two trends of pure plastic and scientific expressions, and to analyze comparatively the related Plastic trends represented in modern space design. The thesis recolonizes that attempts to break out from stereotypes of Constructivism to reinvent itself constantly have contributed to an unconventional forms and new aesthetic standards and have a great impact on idealistic forms in many genres.
