  • The fractional order evolutionary integral equations have been considered by first author in [6], the existence, uniqueness and some other properties of the solution have been proved. Here we study the continuation of the solution and its fractional order derivative. Also we study the generality of this problem and prove that the fractional order diffusion problem, the fractional order wave problem and the initial value problem of the equation of evolution are special cases of it. The abstract diffusion-wave problem will be given also as an application.

  • Due to the high density and heating value, liquid fuel is attractive for ramjet propulsion system. Liquid fuel requires time to evaporation and mix with incoming air before ignition; insufficient evaporation and mixing result in low combustion efficiency and instability. So the numerical studies are conducted to investigate the spray and combustion characteristics of a liquid-fueled dump type Integrated Rocket Ramjet combustor. The governing equations are solved by means of a finite-volume using time derivative preconditioning method for chemical reacting flow. The liquid phase is treated by solving Lagrangian equations of motion and transport for the life histories of a statistically significant sample of individual droplets.

  • Preliminary studies on the measurement of the free thyroxine in the serum with Amerlex $FT_{4}$ RIA kit were investigated using a tracer as $^{125}I-T_{4}$ derivative which is not almostly bound to thyroxine binding globulin, etc. The results are followed: 1. Linearity was tested on standards at various concentrations, and reproducibility and accuracy was excellent. 2. The antibody specificity is also excellent, and standard calibration curve of total $T_{4}$ was similar that of adding the TBG inhibitor. 3. Each value of $T_{4}$ in serum (the normal group, the hypothyroidism patients the pregnant women and the TBG dificiency patients) was not significant. As mentioned above, this method is more simple and rapid, compared to the other method.

  • Polycrystalline ZrH2 in tetragonal crystal system has been compressed in a modified Bassett-type diamond anvil cell up to 36.0 GPa at room temperature. X-ray diffraction data did not indicate any phase transitions at the present pressure range. The pressure dependence of the a-axis, c-axis, c/a and molar volume of ZrH2 was determined at pressures up to 36.0 GPa. Assuming the pressure derivative of the bulk modulus (K0') to be 4.11 from an ultrasonic value on Zr, bulk modulus (K0) was determined to be 160Gpa by fitting the pressure-volume data to the Birch-Murnaghan equation of state. Same sample was heated at $500^{\circ}C$ at the pressure of 9.8 GPa in a modified Sung-type diamond anvil cell. Unloaded and quenched sample revealed that the original tetragonal structure transforms into a hexagonal structured phase with a zero-pressure molar volume change of ~115.5%.

  • In this paper an active random noise control using adaptive learning rate neural networks is presented. The adaptive learning rate strategy increases the learning rate by a small constant if the current partial derivative of the objective function with respect to the weight and the exponential average of the previous derivatives have the same sign, otherwise the learning rate is decreased by a proportion of its value. The use of an adaptive learning rate attempts to keep the learning step size as large as possible without leading to oscillation. It is expected that a cost function minimize rapidly and training time is decreased. Numerical simulations and experiments of active random noise control with the transfer function of the error path will be performed, to validate the convergence properties of the adaptive learning rate Neural Networks. Control results show that adaptive learning rate Neural Networks control structure can outperform linear controllers and conventional neural network controller for the active random noise control.

  • In this paper, we proposed a learning algorithm for the neuro-fuzzy modeling using a learning rule to adapt clustering. The proposed algorithm includes the data partition, assigning the rule into the process of partition, and optimizing the parameters using predetermined threshold value in self-constructing algorithm. In order to improve the clustering, the learning method of neuro-fuzzy model is extended and the learning scheme has been modified such that the learning of overall model is extended based on the error-derivative learning. The effect of the proposed method is presented using simulation compare with previous ones.

  • Many compartment models assume a kinetically homogeneous amount of materials that have well-stirred compartments. However, based on observations from such processes, they have been heuristically fitted by exponential or gamma distributions even though biological media are inhomogeneous in real environments. Fractional differential equations using a specific kernel in Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic (PKPD) model are recently introduced to account for abnormal drug disposition. We discuss a tumor growth inhibition (TGI) model using fractional-order derivative from it. This represents a tumor growth delay by cytotoxic agents and additionally show variations in the equilibrium points by the change of fractional order. The result indicates that the equilibrium depends on the tumor size as well as a change of the fractional order. We find that the smaller the fractional order, the smaller the equilibrium value. However, a difference of them is the number of concavities and this indicates that TGI over time profile for fitting or prediction should be determined properly either fractional order or tumor sizes according to the number of concavities shown in experimental data.

  • This paper proposes a Mamdani fuzzy PID controller for controlling a process with small dead time. The controller composes of a parallel structure of fuzzy PI controller and fuzzy PD controller. Each controller has two inputs, error and change of error. Hence, the control signal of the proposed controller is the average value of the output of the fuzzy PI and PD controllers. The Mamdani fuzzy PID controller is easily to be adjusted to meet the desired control system performances both in transient state and steady state. The simulation results of the proposed Mamdani fuzzy PID controller by using the same parameters (proportional gain, integral time and derivative time) as the conventional PID controller are shown. The response of the Mamdani fuzzy PID control system is faster than the conventional PID control system. Both system responses have ...

  • For the commercialization of the urban maglev, an articulated turnout which consists of several segments of turnout girders and where switching is done by rotating those segments is under development. In this paper, to determine the alignment of this articulated turnout, the requirements for the alignement are analyzed. Requirements include: those for the levitation control and for the ride comfort. For the levitation control, rail joint width should be limited to a certain value, and for the ride comfort, the lateral acceleration and the time derivative of the lateral acceleration satisfy a guideline. According to these requirements, the alignment criteria are discussed.

  • In this paper, we use Newton's method to approximate a locally unique solution of an equation in Banach spaces and introduce recurrent functions to provide a weaker semilocal convergence analysis for Newton's method than before [1]-[13], in some interesting cases, provided that the Fr$\acute{e}$chet-derivative of the operator involved is p-H$\ddot{o}$lder continuous (p${\in}$(0, 1]). Numerical examples involving two boundary value problems are also provided.
