Improved depth evaluation using Epipolar geometry (Epipolar geometry를 활용한 개선된 depth 평가 방법)

  • 실재하는 물체나 장소를 디지털 카메라나 휴대폰 카메라로 여러 장 촬영하여 얻은 2차원 이미지 데이터셋으로부터 3차원 영상을 얻기 위해서 이미지를 이루는 각 pixel의 depth 정보를 얻는 것은 필수적인 과정이다. 주어진 이미지에서 depth 정보를 얻기 위해 Shuhan Shen은 PatchMatch 알고리즘을 활용하는 것을 제안하였다. 그 이후 PatchMatch 기반의 알고리즘은 널리 사용되며 우수한 성능을 보이고 있다. PatchMatch 기반의 알고리즘을 사용해 depth를 추정하는 과정에서 depth와 법선 벡터를 Zero-mean Normalized Cross Correlation(ZNCC)를 사용해 평가한다. 하지만, ZNCC는 depth를 평가하려는 pixel의 주변 pixel들의 밝기 값 혹은 색상 값의 분포를 사용하기 때문에 밝기 값이나 색상 값의 변화가 적은 texture-less region에서는 신뢰성이 떨어진다. 본 논문에서는 이 문제를 epipolar geometry를 활용한 기하학적 정보를 이용하여 개선하고자 한다.

Brand-Post Factors Affecting the Social Media Success : Case of Energy/Eco-Friendly Company Brands in Facebook (에너지·친환경 기업들의 소셜미디어 브랜드 게시글 성공요인 분석)

  • Domestic and international energy and eco-friendly companies take advantage of social media for image enhancement and product promotion. However, there were no in-depth empirical analysis to verify specific effectiveness of social media use in these sectors. The purpose of this study is to reveal the key factors that are considered to use social media effectively for energy and eco-friendly companies. For this purpose, we regarded the effectiveness of social media as Post Awareness and Word of Mouth. Characteristics of social media as a medium were measured separately, media richness and media genre, as independent variables of social media effectiveness. We investigated 413 posts in Facebook brand page of energy and eco-friendly companies and conducted a content analysis. As a result, post awareness of users was greater when post has richer media such as video. For media genre, word of mouth appeared to be greater when the posts provide information.

Simulation of Distortion in Image Space due to Observer's Rotation Movement in Stereoscopic Display, and Its Correction (스테레오스코픽 디스플레이에서 관찰자의 회전이동에 따른 영상공간의 왜곡과 왜곡 보정에 대한 전산모사)

  • Variation of the observer's viewing position is one of the major causes of image space distortion in the stereoscopic display. Especially, a large image distortion, which is caused by different depth direction positions of the observer's two eyes, is made by the observer's rotation movement in relation to the center of the screen. This is different from distortion of horizontal and depth directional movement of the observer. In this paper, we analyzed distortion of the image space due to the observer's rotation movement and showed the corrected result of distortion through simulation in the stereoscopic display. Finally, we showed that the distortion shape of the observer's rotation movement is different from horizontal and depth directional movement of the observer.

  • 본 논문은 3차원 깊이 정보를 이용하여 감시카메라에서 움직이는 사람을 검출하고 추적하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 GMM(Gaussian mixture model)을 이용하여 배경과 움직이는 사람을 분리한 후, 분리된 영역을 CCL(connected-component labeling)을 통하여 각각 블랍(blob) 단위로 나누고 그 블랍을 추적한다. 그 중 블랍 단위로 나누는 데 있어 두 블랍이 합쳐진 경우, 3차원 깊이 정보를 이용하여 두 블랍을 분리하는 방법을 제안한다. 실험을 통하여 제안하는 방법의 결과를 보인다.

  • As laws regarding the execution of governmental and public corporate advertising have been enforced since 2018, the need for the increase in effectiveness and public benefits of governmental advertising has been suggested. This research focuses on the government's health campaigns regarding well-being, hygiene, and safety and thus conducts an in-depth research into strategies and the future course of policies. First, it analyzes domestic/international governmental advertising in the realm of health campaigns and specifically studies governmental advertising that employs media technologies in health communications. Furthermore, through in-depth interview with 10 health campaign experts, the study explores possible plans of utilizing the ever-developing field of digital technology. The results of this research show that it is imperative to target and strategize according to the purposes of health campaigns. It is also important to set the appropriate parameters of the campaigns according to the given budget while securing the quantity and quality of creativity. Also, it will be crucial to utilize media technology to the fullest extent and strategize around it. Therefore, this research suggests theoretical as well as practical strategic plans to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of governmental advertising in the realm of well-being, hygiene, and safety in health campaigns.

Depth estimation and View Synthesis using Haze Information (실안개를 이용한 단일 영상으로부터의 깊이정보 획득 및 뷰 생성 알고리듬)

  • Previous approaches to the 2D to 3D conversion problem require heavy computation or considerable amount of user input. In this paper, we propose a rather simple method in estimating the depth map from a single image using a monocular depth cue: haze. Using the haze imaging model, we obtain the distance information and estimate a reliable depth map from a single scenery image. Using the depth map, we also suggest an algorithm that converts the single image to 3D stereoscopic images. We determine a disparity value for each pixel from the original 'left' image and generate a corresponding 'right' image. Results show that the algorithm gives well refined depth maps despite the simplicity of the approach.

Generation of ROI Enhanced High-resolution Depth Maps in Hybrid Camera System (복합형 카메라 시스템에서 관심영역이 향상된 고해상도 깊이맵 생성 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose a new scheme to generate region-of-interest (ROI) enhanced depth maps in the hybrid camera system, which is composed of a low-resolution depth camera and a high-resolution stereoscopic camera. The proposed method creates an ROI depth map for the left image by carrying out a three-dimensional (3-D) warping operation onto the depth information obtained from the depth camera. Then, we generate a background depth map for the left image by applying a stereo matching algorithm onto the left and right images captured by the stereoscopic camera. Finally, we merge the ROI map with the background one to create the final depth map. The proposed method provides higher quality depth information on ROI than the previous methods.

  • Variation of viewing position of the observer is one of factors of image distortion in the stereoscopic display. A rotation movement of the observer makes the stereoscopic image distortion and that is caused by different horizontal position of each eye of the observer. It is different from horizontal and depth directional movement of the observer. In this paper, we showed the numerical simulation result about the distortion analysis and the correction of the stereoscopic image in rotation movement of the observer.

  • Prevalence of common three-dimensional display progresses, increasing the demand for three-dimensional content. Starting from the year 2010 to meet increasing 2D to 3D conversion is insufficient to meet demand content was presented as an alternative. But, Convert 2D to 3D stereo effect only emphasizes content production as a three-dimensional visual fatigue and the degradation of the Quality problems are pointed out. In this study, opened in 2011 'Scenes Guan', the 13 selected Scene is made of the three-dimensional transform the content and the Quality of the transformation applied to the Depth-Map is a visual representation of three-dimensional fatigue and, the adequacy of whether the expert has group interviews and surveys were conducted. Many of the changes are applied to the motion picture of the three-dimensional configurations of Depth-Map conversion technology used in many ways before and after the analysis of the relationship of cascade configurations to create a depth map to the stage. Experiments, presented in this study is a three-dimensional configuration of Depth-Map transformation can lower the production of a three-dimensional visual fatigue and improve the results obtained for a reasonable place was more than half of the experiment accepted the expert group to show a positive reaction were. The results of this study with a rapid movement to convert 2D images into 3D images of applying Depth-map configuration cascade manner to reduce the visual fatigue, to increase the efficiency, and has a three-dimensional perception is the result derived.

The I-MCTBoost Classifier for Real-time Face Detection in Depth Image (깊이영상에서 실시간 얼굴 검출을 위한 I-MCTBoost)

  • This paper proposes a method of boosting-based classification for the purpose of real-time face detection. The proposed method uses depth images to ensure strong performance of face detection in response to changes in lighting and face size, and uses the depth difference feature to conduct learning and recognition through the I-MCTBoost classifier. I-MCTBoost performs recognition by connecting the strong classifiers that are constituted from weak classifiers. The learning process for the weak classifiers is as follows: first, depth difference features are generated, and eight of these features are combined to form the weak classifier, and each feature is expressed as a binary bit. Strong classifiers undergo learning through the process of repeatedly selecting a specified number of weak classifiers, and become capable of strong classification through a learning process in which the weight of the learning samples are renewed and learning data is added. This paper explains depth difference features and proposes a learning method for the weak classifiers and strong classifiers of I-MCTBoost. Lastly, the paper presents comparisons of the proposed classifiers and the classifiers using conventional MCT through qualitative and quantitative analyses to establish the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed classifiers.
