Charted Depth Interpolation: Neuron Network Approaches

  • Continuous depth data are often required in applications of both onboard systems and maritime simulation. But data available are usually discrete and irregularly distributed. Based on the neuron network technique, methods of interpolation to the charted depth are suggested in this paper. Two algorithms based on Levenberg-Marquardt back-propaganda and radial-basis function networks are investigated respectively. A dynamic neuron network system is developed which satisfies both real time and mass processing applications. Using hyperbolic paraboloid and typical chart area, effectiveness of the algorithms is tested and error analysis presented. Special process in practical applications such as partition of lager areas, normalization and selection of depth contour data are also illustrated.

도로터널 분기부 암반 필라의 안정성 평가 (Stability Analysis of Rock Pillar in the Diverging Area of Road Tunnel)

  • 본 연구에서는 도로터널 분기부 암반 필라의 거동을 3차원 수치해석 방법으로 검토하였다. 암반 필라의 거동에 영향을 미치는 매개변수로 암반 필라의 이격거리, 토피고, 암반등급 변화에 따른 안전율을 평가하였다. 필라의 이격거리가 증가할수록 토피고와 암반등급에 따른 안전율 변화 곡선은 비선형 거동을 보였으며, 도로터널 분기부에서 암반 필라의 거동 특성을 최소 안전율을 기준으로 안전율 도표로서 제안하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 터널을 대상으로 분기부 암반 필러의 거동을 3차원 수치해석 방법으로 검토하였다. 암반 필러의 거동에 영향을 미치는 매개변수로 암반 필러의 이격거리, 토피고, 암반등급 변화에 따른 안전율을 평가하였다. 터널 분기부 암반 필러의 이격거리가 증가할수록 토피고와 암반등급에 따른 안전율 변화 곡선은 비선형 거동을 보였으며, 터널 분기부에서 암반 필러의 거동 특성을 최소 안전율을 기준으로 안전율 도표로서 제안하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 도로터널을 대상으로 최소 이격거리가 0.5D 이하인 근접 병설터널의 암반 필라 거동을 3차원 수치해석방법으로 검토하였다. 암반 필라의 거동에 영향을 미치는 매개변수로 이격거리와 심도(토피고) 및 암반조건의 변화에 따른 안전율을 평가하였다. 이격거리가 증가할수록 토피고와 암반조건에 따른 안전율 추세곡선은 비선형 거동을 보여 주었으며, 최소 안전율을 기준으로 최소 이격거리를 산정하여 설계도표를 제시하였다.

노년 남성의 의복사이즈 체계연구 (Study on a Clothes Sizing System for Elderly Men)

  • This study suggests a detailed apparel sizing system for brands that target elderly men between the ages of 60 to 79 by studying body type differences of the age group based on data from 'The $5^{th}$ Korean Anthropometric survey'. Compared to middle aged men, elderly men body measurements appear to be smaller except in the midriff area, such as the natural waist circumference, waist circumference (omphalion), waist depth and waist depth (omphalion). The size chart in the study was established according to the KS size chart system with a size jump of 5cm in height, 5cm and 3cm in chest circumference, 2cm in waist circumference (omphalion) and 2cm in hip circumference. A total of 8 sizes were established with heights between 160cm and 170cm and chest measurements between 85cm to 100cm for casual tops. For suit tops, a total of 11 sizes were established with heights between 160cm and 170cm and chest measurements between 88cm to 100cm. For bottoms, detailed sizes were suggested by dividing basic and reference areas with 13 sizes between 84cm to 94cm in the waist circumference (omphalion) and between 90cm to 98cm in the hip circumference.

Database of Navigational Environment Parameters (Water Depth, Sediment Type and Marine Managed Areas) to Support Ships in an Emergency

  • This study introduces the navigational environment database(DB) compiling water depth, sediment type and marine managed areas (MMAs) in coastal waters of South Korea. The water depth and sediment data were constructed by combining their sparse points of electronic navigation chart and survey data with high spatial resolution using the inverse distance weighting and natural neighbor interpolation method included in ArcGIS. The MMAs were integrated based on all shapefiles provided by several government agencies using ArcGIS because the areas should be used in an emergency case of ship. To test the validity of the constructed DB, we conducted a test application for grounding and anchoring zones using a ship accident case. The result revealed each area of possible grounding candidates and anchorages is calculated and displayed properly, excluding obstacle places.

S3D 애니메이션 제작을 위한 입체 값 분석 기술 (A Study on depth analysis for S3D animation)

  • 본 논문에서는 완성도 높은 3D 콘텐츠가 부족한 상황에서 고품질의 3D 콘텐츠 제작을 위한 입체 값 분석을 통한 과도한 입체 장면 및 장면 전환 영상을 검출하여 3D 콘텐츠 제작 가이드라인에 맞는 안정적인 입체 영상을 제작할 수 있는 입체 값 분석 기술을 제안한다. 입력된 좌, 우 영상을 이용하여 탐색범위 제한을 통하여 깊이 맵을 구하고 상영되는 스크린 크기에 맞춰 전경 및 배경의 대상 물체의 돌출 영역과 후퇴 영역의 입체 값을 계산한다. 돌출과 후퇴영역이 3D 입체 영상 제작 가이드라인에 벗어나는 장면 및 이전 장면과 과도하게 입체 값 변화가 일어나는 장면을 검출한다. 입체 값 분석 툴을 통해 검출된 장면은 후반 작업에서 입체 값 조절을 통해 안정적인 3D 입체 영상을 제작하는데 도움을 줄 수 있다.

월류위험도 기반 저류지 설계를 위한 평균강우량도 작성 (Distribution of average rainfall event-depth for overflow risk-based design of detention storage basin)

  • This study collected the latest 30-year (1976~2005) continuous rainfall data hourly recorded at 61 meterological observatories in Korea, and the continuous rainfall data was divided into individual rainfall events. In addition, distribution charts of average rainfall event-depth were created to facilitate the application to the overflow risk-based design of detention storage basin. This study shows that 4 hour is appropriate for SST (storm separation time) to separate individual rainfall events from the continuous rainfall data, and the one-parameter exponential distribution is suitable for the frequency distribution of rainfall event depths for the domestic rainfall data. The analysis of the domestic rainfall data using SST of 4 hour showed that the individual rainfall event was 1380 to 2031 times, the average rainfall event-depth was 19.1 to 32.4mm, and ranged between 0.877 and 0.926. Distribution charts of average rainfall event-depth were created for 4hour and 6 hour of SST, respectively. The inland Gyeongsangbuk-do, Western coastal area and inland of Jeollabuk-do had relatively lower average rainfall event-depth, whereas Southern coastal area, such as Namhae, Yeosu, and Jeju-do had relatively higher average rainfall event-depth.

A study on the breast type and sizing system for 20's and 40's women's brassire

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze breast shape by age, to classify breast types and then to suggest brassiere size chart. The subject of anthropometric measurement were 232 women in 20's and 40's. The direct anthropmetric measurement were analyzed by mean, standard deviation, duncan test, T-test, ANOVA, factor & cluster analysis The results are as follows; 1) as a result of analysis for the measurements, according to the increase of age, the items of height were decreased and the items of width, depth, cir- cumference, length were increased, being obesity and breast points were dropped. So the volume and bottom area of 40's women's breast were lager than 20's women's. The width of breast points was bide by increasing of intereior. 2) as a result of factor analyxis, 5 factors were extracted as important factor of breast shapes(obesity of breast and location of breast point, breast height and volume, upper dimensions of breast/lower dimensions of breast, interior dimensions of breast/exterior dimensions of breast, volume of the lower part and drop of breast) 3) as a reslut of cluster analysis, the breast shape were classified into 4 types. namely, typel has the smallest volume, bottom area of breast and the slenderest breast, type2 was the second obesity type. type3 was middle sized type. type4 has much dropped, wide bottom area of breast and the biggest form. 4) To establish brassiere sizing system, the loss funtion was used to decide interval of under bust girth and cup size of size chart. 20 brassiere sizes were established and the size chart covers 92.2% of all subject.

해양무인체계와 위성 원격탐사 자료를 이용한 XBT 기반의 황해 수중음속 정확도 향상 방안 (Improvement of the accuracy of XBT based underwater sound speed using the unmanned maritime system and satellite remote sensing data in the Yellow Sea)

  • 염분의 변화가 심한 황해의 해양환경 조건에서 정확한 해수음속을 산출하기 위한 논리적 방안을 제시하였다. 본 방안은 미항공우주국에서 개발한 Aqua 및 Soil Moisture Active Passive(SMAP)위성자료를 기반으로 하계절 30.5 psu 미만의 저염분수의 확장과 수온역전 현상 발생 위치를 식별하고 그 위치에 수심별 수온염분 측정센서인 Conductivity, Temperature, and Depth(CTD)가 탑재된 해양관측용 무인체계를 투입하여 음속이 적재적소에 정확히 측정하는 방안을 제시하였고 이의 원활한 수행을 위한 흐름도(flow chart)로 정리하였다. 본 방안을 통하여 염분의 변화폭이 증대되는 특이 해양환경을 조기에 식별하여 소모성 연직 수온 측정기인 Expandable Bathy Thermograph (XBT)로 음속을 계산할 때 정확도의 저하가 발생 되지 않도록 하였다.
