  • This paper proposes coordinates transformation and calibration algorithm using 3D parabolic coordinate transformation and delta-bar-delta neural algorithm for the omni-directional image captured by catadioptric camera. Experimental results shows that the proposed algorithm has accuracy and confidence in coordinate transformation which is sensitive to environmental variables.

  • "Ha-Neul-Ta-Ri" (Trichosanthes kirilowii Max., Cucurbitaceae) cultivated in Korea and used in popular medicine, was investigated for sterol composition of the seed oil. This seed oil contains unusual sterols having ${\delta}^{7, 22}_-$, ${\delta}^{7, 24}_-$ and ${\delta}^{7, 22, 25}_-$ di and trienols. ${\delta}^{7, 22}_-$ Stigmastadienol and ${\delta}^{7, 22, 25}_-$ Stigmastatrienol were identified as the major sterols in the seed oil of Trichosanthes kirilowii by gas loiquid chromatographic analysis. The results showed that contents of the seed sterols were campesterol 1.0-1.2%, stigmasterol 1.5-1.7%, ${\delta}^{7}_-$ campstenol 0.6-0.8%, sitosterol 10.6-11.4%, ${\delta}^{7, 22}_-$ stigmastadienol 39.1-41.8%, ${\delta}^{7, 22, 25}_-$ stigmastatrienol 28.9-29.3%, ${\delta}^{7, 25}_-$ stigmastadienol 14.9-15.5% and ${\delta}^{7, 24}_-$ stigmastadienol 0.7-1.0%.

Effect of tooth bleaching agents on color of tooth depend on content of carbamide peroxide (Carbamide peroxide의 함량에 따른 치아미백제의 치아에 대한 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of commercial home-tooth bleaching agents on the color of tooth. Twenty five sound extracted teeth were randomly divided into five groups. The color differences between before and after treatment with five types of tooth bleaching agents (7.5% hydrogen peroxide Nite White $Excel^{(R)}$, 10% carbamide peroxide Nite White $Excel^{(R)}$, 16% carbamide peroxide Nite White $Excel^{(R)}$, 10% carbamide peroxide Insta-BriteTM, 20% carbamide peroxide Insta-$Brite^{TM}$) were evaluated. The results were as follows: 1. By 2 week home tooth bleaching agent applications, the values ($L^*$) of bovine teeth increased as high as 4.38 $\sim$ 8.80 when comparing to those of the samples before treatment, and the color difference (${\Delta}E^*$) showed as high as 10.16 $\sim$ 15.04. 2. 16% carbamide peroxide Nite White Excel induced significantly greater ${\Delta}L^*$ than other test edgroups except for 7.5% hydrogen peroxide Day White Excel, and significantly greater ${\Delta}E^*$ than other tested groups by 2 week bleaching agent treatments (p<0.01). 3. 16% carbamide peroxide Nite White Excel(${\Delta}L^*$=8.80, ${\Delta}E^*$=15.04) induced significantly greater ${\Delta}L^*$ and ${\Delta}E^*$ than 10% carbamide peroxide Nite White Excel(${\Delta}L^*$=5.01, ${\Delta}E^*$=10.16)(p<0.01), but significant difference between 10% carbamide peroxide Insta-Brite(${\Delta}L^*$=4.38, ${\Delta}E^*$=10.51) and 20% carbamide peroxide Insta-Brite(${\Delta}L^*$=5.63, ${\Delta}E^*$=11.23) was not shown in ${\Delta}L^*$ and ${\Delta}E^*$(p>0.01). 4. 16% carbamide peroxide Nite White Excel(${\Delta}L^*$=8.80, ${\Delta}E^*$=15.04) which were applied in night time induced significantly greater ${\Delta}L^*$ and ${\Delta}E^*$ than 7.5% hydrogen peroxide Day White Excel(${\Delta}L^*$=8.47, ${\Delta}E^*$=12.75) which were applied in day time. Conclusions: These results demonstrate that all the commercial home-tooth bleaching agents have appreciable bleaching effect on teeth, and the effects of home-tooth bleaching agents which are used during night time are affected by content of carbamide peroxide. Especially the whitening effect of home tooth bleaching agents that are used through night time is greater than that of short time-applying tooth bleaching agent.

  • Kinetic studies for the reaction of pyridine with substituted benzoyl chlorides were conducted under various pressures (1-1000 bar) in acetonitrile. From rate constants, the activation parameters (${\Delta}V^{\neq}$, ${\Delta}{\beta}^{\neq}$,${\Delta}H^{\neq}$, ${\Delta}S^{\neq}$ and ${\Delta}G^{\neq}$) were evaluated. Rates of these reaction increased with an increase in the pressure. The activation volume, the activation compressibility coefficient and the activation entropy were negative. From substituents effect and these results, it was found that these reactions proceed through $S_N2$ mechanism, but the structure of transition state was slightly changed with substituents and pressure.

  • There are two ways to connect an LCL filter in a grid-connected VSI. A wye connected LCL filter is general way, and the other is a delta connected LCL filter. While a model of a system with a wye connected LCL filter is calculated, a model of a system with a delta connected LCL filter is not formulated. Thus, we propose a mathematical model of a system with a delta connected LCL filter. Also, a comparative study of capacitor current harmonics of a delta connected LCL filter and a wye connected LCL filter is included. Experimental results exhibit that it is advantageous to control grid currents for a system with a delta connected LCL filter.

  • The class $\mathcal{W}^{\delta}_{\beta}({\alpha},{\gamma})$ defined in the domain ${\mid}z{\mid}$ < 1 satisfying $Re\;e^{i{\phi}}\((1-{\alpha}+2{\gamma})(f/z)^{\delta}+\({\alpha}-3{\gamma}+{\gamma}\[1-1/{\delta})(zf^{\prime}/f)+1/{\delta}\(1+zf^{\prime\prime}/f^{\prime}\)\]\)(f/z)^{\delta}(zf^{\prime}/f)-{\beta}\)$ > 0, with the conditions ${\alpha}{\geq}0$, ${\beta}$ < 1, ${\gamma}{\geq}0$, ${\delta}$ > 0 and ${\phi}{\in}{\mathbb{R}}$ generalizes a particular case of the largest subclass of univalent functions, namely the class of $Bazilevi{\check{c}}$ functions. Moreover, for 0 < ${\delta}{\leq}{\frac{1}{(1-{\zeta})}}$, $0{\leq}{\zeta}$ < 1, the class $C_{\delta}({\zeta})$ be the subclass of normalized analytic functions such that $Re(1/{\delta}(1+zf^{\prime\prime}/f^{\prime})+1-1/{\delta})(zf^{\prime}/f))$ > ${\zeta}$, ${\mid}z{\mid}$<1. Several interesting applications are provided for special choices of ${\lambda}(t)$. These results are useful in the attempt to generalize the two most important extremal problems in this direction using duality techniques and provide scope for further research.

  • This thesis proposes a sigma-delta modulator architecture with 2 Ms/s data rate and 12 bit resolution. A sigma-delta modulate has the features of oversampling and noise shaping. With these features, it can be connected with low resolution A/D converter to achieve higher resolution A/D converter. Most previous researches have been concentrated on high resolution but low data rate applications, e.g. audio applications. But, in order to be applied to various applications such as wireless data communication, researches on sigma-delta modulator architecture for higher data rate are required. The proposed sigma-delta modulator architecture has the sampling rate of 16 times Nyquist rate to achieve high data rate, and consists of a cascade of two 2nd order sigma-delta modulator to get relatively high resolution. The experimental result shows that the proposed architecture achieves 12-bit resolution at 2 Ms/s data rate.

Thermodynamics on the Mixed Micellization of Sodium Dodecylsulfate(SDS) with Sodium Dodecylbenzenesulfonate(DBS) in Pure Water (순수 물에서 Sodium Dodecylsulfate(SDS)와 Sodium Dodecylbenzenesulfonate(DBS)의 혼합미셀화에 대한 열역학적 고찰)

  • The critical micelle concentration(CMC) and the counterion binding $constant(\beta)$ at the CMC of the mixtures of Sodium dodecylsulfate(SDS) with Sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate(DBS) in aqueous solutions have been determined from the concentration dependence of electrical conductance at several temperatures from $15^{\circ}C$ to $35^{\circ}C.$ Thermodynamic parameters(${\Delta}C_p,\;{\Delta}G_m^{\circ},\;{\Delta}H_m^{\circ}$${\Delta}S_m^{\circ}$ and ${\Delta}C_p$), associated with the micelle formation of SDS/DBS mixtures, have been estimated from the temperature dependence of CMC and $\beta$ values. The measured values of ${\Delta}G_m^{\circ}\;and\;{\Delta}C_p$ are negative but the values of ${\Delta}S_m/^{\circ}$ are positive in the whole measured temperature region. The significance of these thermodynamic parameters and their relation to the theory of the micelle formation of SDS/DBS mixtures have been also considered.

  • This paper concerns with the subclass of normalized analytic function f in D = {z : |z| < 1}, namely a ${\delta}$-convex function in a sector. This subclass is denoted by ${\Delta}({\delta})$, where ${\delta}$ is a real positive. Given $0<{\beta}{\leq}1$ then for $z{\in}D$, the exact ${\alpha}({\beta},\;{\delta})$ is found such that $f{\in}{\Delta}({\delta})$ implies $f{\in}S^*({\beta})$, where $S^*({\beta})$ is starlike of order ${\beta}$ in a sector. This work is a more general version of the result of Nunokawa and Thomas [11].

  • We prove the existence of solutions for the system of the nonlinear biharmonic equations with Dirichlet boundary condition $$\{^{-{\Delta}^2u-c{\Delta}u+{\gamma}(bu^+-av^-)=s{\phi}_1\;in\;{\Omega},\;}_{-{\Delta}^2u-c{\Delta}u+{\delta}(bu^+-av^-)=s{\phi}_1\;in\;{\Omega}}$$, where $u^+$ = max{u, 0}, ${\Delta}^2$ denotes the biharmonic operator and ${\phi}_1$ is the positive eigenfunction of the eigenvalue problem $-{\Delta}$ with Dirichlet boundary condition.
