속도의존성 결정소성 모델 기반의 유한요소해석을 통한 BCC 금속의 변형 집합조직 예측 (Prediction of Deformation Texture in BCC Metals based on Rate-dependent Crystal Plasticity Finite Element Analysis)

  • In the current study, a rate-dependent crystal plasticity finite element method (CPFEM) was used to simulate flow stress behavior and texture evolution of a body-centered cubic (BCC) crystalline material during plastic deformation at room temperature. To account for crystallographic slip and rotation, a rate-dependent crystal constitutive law with a hardening model was incorporated into an in-house finite element program, CAMPform3D. Microstructural heterogeneity and anisotropy were handled by assigning a crystallographic orientation to each integration point of the element and determining the stiffness matrix of the individual crystal. Uniaxial tensile tests of single crystals with different crystallographic orientations were simulated to determine the material parameters in the hardening model. The texture evolution during four different deformation modes - uniaxial tension, uniaxial compression, channel die compression, and simple shear deformation - was investigated based on the comparison with experimental data available in the literature.

  • Superplastic deformation behavior and texture evolution after equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) of Zn-0.3Al alloy were investigated in this study. ECAP was conducted at temperatures from $40^{\circ}C$ to $160^{\circ}C$ on the plate type specimens of 5 mm thickness and 20 mm width. The specimens obtained by ECAP showed typical texture with basal poles tilted away from the ND toward ED. A series of compression and tensile tests was carried out at temperatures from RT to $200^{\circ}C$ under the strain rate from 0.03 to 10/s. After ECAP of the Zn-Al alloy, elongation was dramatically increased up to 1000% at above $60^{\circ}C$. The effects of ECAP on the texture and anisotropy in the superplastic deformation bebavior were found to be negligible.

그루브 압축이 알루미늄 집합조직에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Groove Pressing on Deformation Texture in Aluminum)

  • The present study has focused on the development of shear textures during groove pressing in an aluminum alloy sheet. The shear components 23 and 13 developed during the groove pressing process. The process consisting of two steps of grooving and flattening each effectively gave rise to a high shear deformation In the sheet without reduction in thickness. The main texture component obtained from the process was the rotated Bs-orientation. The evolution of shear components during the groove pressing caused an increase in R-value of aluminum sheet comparing to a normally processed rolled sheet.

  • The hardening and the constitutive equation based on the crystal plasticity are introduced for the numerical simulation of hemispherical sheet metal forming. For calculating the deformation and the stress of the crystal, Taylor's model of the crystalline aggregate is employed. The hardening is evaluated by using the Taylor factor, the critical resolved shear stress of the slip system, and the sum of the crystallographic shears. During the hemispherical forming process, the texture of the sheet metal is evolved by the plastic deformation of the crystal. By observing the texture evolution of the BCC sheet, the texture evolution of the sheet is traced during the forming process. Deformation texture of the BCC sheet is represented by using the pole figure. The comparison of the strain distribution and punch force in the hemispherical forming process between crystal plasticity and experiment shows the verification of the crystal-based formulation and the accuracy of the hardening and constitutive equation obtained from the crystal plasticity.

  • The deformation mechanism of hexagonal close-packed materials is quite complicate including slips and twins. A deformation mechanism, which accounts for both slip and twinning, was investigated for polycrystalline hop materials. The model was developed in a finite element polycrystal model formulated with initial strain method where the stiffness matrix in FEM is based on the elastic modulus. We predicted numerically the texture of Mg alloy(AZ31B) sheet by using FEM based on crystal plasticity theory. Also, we introduced the recrystallized texture employed the maximum energy release theory after rolling. From the numerical study, it was clarified that the shrink twin could not be the main mechanism for shortening of c-axis, because the lattice rotation due to twin rejects fur c-axis to become parallel to ND(normal direction of plate). It was showed that the deformation texture with the pyramidal slip gives the ring type pole figure having hole in the center.

  • Asymmetrical rolling was performed with different working roll speeds of upper and lower rolls. In order to promote the shear deformation during asymmetrical rolling, various deformation parameters of initial sheet thickness, rolling reduction, roll speed ratio and roll radius are considered. The evolution of texture during asymmetrical rolling was shown by the calculation of orientation distribution function (ODF). The effect of deformation parameters on shea. deformation were investigated by simulations with the finite element method (FEM). Asymmetrical rolling gave rise to the development of pronounced strain gradients throughout the thickness layers which resulted in the formation of strong texture gradients in the sheet.

Large and Small Deformation Studies of Ohmic and Water-Bath Heated Surimi Gel by TPA and Creep Test

  • Interrelationship between results of large deformation (texture profile analysis, TPA) test and small deformation (creep) test on ohmic heated surimi gel, water-bath heated surimi gel, and commercial fish gel products (kamabokos) was examined. Creep test revealed ohmic heated gels have higher elastic modulus and viscosity values than water-bath heated ones, with differences of elastic modulus and viscosity between ohmic and water-bath heated gels being 18 and 28.5%, respectively. These differences were reflected in the higher hardness, cohesiveness, and chewiness values of ohmic heated gels in TPA. In TPA test, the differences of hardness and chewiness between ohmic heated gel and water-bath heated gel were 29.3 and 38.7%, respectively. It was concluded that with proper experimental design, the small deformation creep test which gives molecular level deformation data can be related to the large deformation TPA test indicating the sensory textural properties.

  • To investigate the evolution of deformation texture during cold rolling deformation, cold rolling process on a commercial Al-5% Mg sheet was carried out at different rolling reduction ratio. The evolution of annealing texture in cold-rolled Al-5% Mg sheet was also investigated. The evolution of recrystallization texture during annealing process strongly depends on the rolling reduction ratio before heat treatment. Visco-plastic self-consistent (VPSC) polycrystal model was used to predict r-value anisotropy of the cold-rolled and annealed Al-5% Mg sheets. The change of volume fraction for the major texture components was also analyzed.

  • The evolution of texture and microstructure during recrystallization was tracked after different cold rolling of aluminum sheets. Texture of the sheet center were differentiated by different strain states due to prior deformation. The evolution of recrystallization texture was studied with the amount of shear applied during cold rolling. The final grain size after recrystallization annealing was varied due to the effective strain during deformation.

  • During asymmetrical cold rolling in AA 5052 sheet a reduction per a rolling pass was varied to investigate the effect of the ratio of the contact length between the roll and sample ($l_c$) to the sheet thickness (d) on the formation of shear textures. In order to intensify the shear deformation during asymmetrical rolling, AA 5052 sheet was asymmetrically cold rolled without lubrication by using different roll velocities of upper and lower rolls. Asymmetrical rolling with $l_c$/d=1.8 led to the formation of texture gradients throughout the sheet thickness in which the outer thickness layers depicted shear textures and the center thickness layers displayed a rolling texture. Asymmetrical rolling with $l_c$/d=3.1 gave rise to the formation of shear textures in the whole through-thickness layer. The strain states associated with asymmetrical rolling were investigated by the finite element method (FEM) simulation. FEM results indicated that the evolution of deformation texture in a thickness layer is strongly governed by integrated values of strain rates and along the streamline in the roll gap.
