고효율 LED 제작을 위한 비,반극성 GaN의 성장 및 결함 분석

  • In this study, we presented comparative discrimination methods to identify various line and planar defects observed in nonpolar a-GaN epilayers on r-sapphire substrates. Unlike the case of conventional c-GaN, which is dominated by perfect threading dislocations, systematic identification of undistinguishable defects using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) is necessary to suppress the propagation of defects in nonpolar GaN epilayers. Cross-sectional TEM images near the [0001] zone axis revealed that perfect mixed and pure screw type dislocations are visible, while pure edge, partial dislocations, and basal stacking faults (BSFs) are not discernible. In tilted cross-sectional TEM images along the [$1\bar{2}10$] zone axis, the dominant defects were BSFs and partial dislocations for the $g=10\bar{1}0$ and 0002 two-beam images, respectively. From plan view TEM images taken along the [$11\bar{2}0$] axis, it was found that the dominantpartial and perfect dislocations were Frank-Shockley with b=${\pm}1/6$<$20\bar{2}3$> and mixed type without an 1 component including b=${\pm}1/3$<$1\bar{2}10$> and ${\pm}1/3$<$\bar{2}110$>, respectively. Prismatic stacking faults were observed as inclined line contrast near the [0001] zone axis and were visible as band contrast in the two-beam images along the [$1\bar{2}10$] and [$11\bar{2}0$] zone axes.

Type-2 Gumbel과 Erlang 분포의 형상모수를 따르는 수명분포에 근거한 소프트웨어 개발 비용모형에 관한 특성 연구 (A characteristic study on the software development cost model based on the lifetime distribution following the shape parameter of Type-2 Gumbel and Erlang distribution)

  • 정보기술의 발달로 컴퓨터 소프트웨어 시스템의 규모는 끊임없이 확장되고 있다. 소프트웨어 개발에 대한 신뢰성 및 비용은 소프트웨어 품질에 큰 영향을 미치고 있다. 본 연구에서는 소프트웨어 고장 간격시간 자료를 바탕으로 NHPP 모형에서 Type-2 Gumbel과 Erlang 분포의 형상모수를 따르는 수명분포에 근거한 소프트웨어 개발 비용모형에 관한 특성을 비교하고, 분석하였다. 그 결과, Go-Okumoto 모형 및 제시한 모형인 Erlang 모형과 Type-2 Gumble 모형에 대한 비용곡선의 추세는 모두 초기단계에서 감소하다가, 고장시간이 지나는 후반부에 가서는 점차 증가하는 결과를 보였다. 또한, Erlang 모형과 Type-2 Gumble 모형을 비교한 결과, Erlang 모형이 소프트웨어 출시시기가 빠르고, 출시시점의 비용도 경제적임을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통하여, 소프트웨어 운용자들은 소프트웨어 출시시기 이후에 결함이 감소되도록 운영단계보다 테스팅 단계에서 결함들을 제거해야 하며, 소프트웨어 개발비용에 관한 특성을 파악하는데 필요한 사전정보을 연구할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Studies of point defects for annealed $AgInS_{2}/GaAs$ epilayer

  • The $AgInS_{2}$ epilayers with a chalcopyrite structure grown using a hot-wall epitaxy method have been confirmed to be a high quality crystal. From the optical absorption measurements, a temperature dependence of the energy band gap on $AgInS_{2}/GaAs$ was found to be $Eg(T)=2.1365eV-(9.89{\times}10^{-3}eV)T^{2}/(2930+T)$. After the as-grown $AgInS_{2}/GaAs$ was annealed in Ag-, S-, and In-atmospheres, the origin of point defects of $AgInS_{2}/GaAs$ has been investigated by using photoluminescence measurements at 10 K. The native defects of $V_{Ag},\;V_{S},\;Ag_{int}$ and $S_{int}$ obtained from photoluminescence measurements were classified as donors or accepters. It was concluded that the heat-treatment in the S-atmosphere converted $AgInS_{2}/GaAs$ to an optical p-type. Also, it was confirmed that In in $AgInS_{2}/GaAs$ did not form the native defects because In in $AgInS_{2}$ did exist in the stable form.

6dB Drop법에 의한 용접 결함 초음파 신호의 카오스성 평가 (Chaoticity Evaluation of Ultrasonic Signals in Welding Defects by 6dB Drop Method)

  • This study proposes the analysis and evaluation method of time series ultrasonic signal using the chaotic feature extraction for ultrasonic pattern recognition. Features extracted from time series data using the chaotic time series signal analysis quantitatively welding defects. For this purpose analysis objective in this study is fractal dimension and Lyapunov exponent. Trajectory changes in the strange attractor indicated that even same type of defects carried substantial difference in chaoticity resulting from distance shills such as 0.5 and 1.0 skip distance. Such differences in chaoticity enables the evaluation of unique features of defects in the weld zone. In experiment fractal(correlation) dimension and Lyapunov exponent extracted from 6dB ultrasonic defect signals of weld zone showed chaoticity. In quantitative chaotic feature extraction, feature values(mean values) of 4.2690 and 0.0907 in the case of porosity and 4.2432 and 0.0888 in the case of incomplete penetration were proposed on the basis of fractal dimension and Lyapunov exponent. Proposed chaotic feature extraction in this study enhances ultrasonic pattern recognition results from defect signals of weld zone such as vertical hole.

공구 형상에 따른 CFRP의 가공결함 제거에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Removal of CFRP Machining Defects by Various Tool Geometries)

  • CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics) has many industrial applications due to its low weight and high strength properties. Due to its superior properties, for example, excellent resistance to fatigue wear, corrosion, and breakage from fatigue, it has been widely applicable to aircraft, automotive, and medical industries and so on. The main machining for CFRP is drilling, and route milling. In case of drilling, the machining defects such as the delamination of each layer, uncut fiber, resin burning, spalling, and exit burrs are inevitable. The issue to remove such kind of defects is necessary to make CFRP parts successful. From this point of view, this paper investigates the removal effectiveness of machining defects existing at exit region with different type of tool geometries. Consequently, based on the experiments, the tool geometry is most impact factor to remove uncut fiber or resin.

형상제어를 위한 새로운 보강롤의 개발 (Development of New Back-Up Roll for Strip Shape Control)

  • Most of shape defects in steel strip are originated from the structure of rolling mill itself. For instance, strip crown occurs when the work roll is deformed by the bending moment induced on roll chocks. To get rids of the shape defects, it is necessary to increase the stiffness of rolling mill. The structure change of back-up roll is one of alternative ways to increase the mill stiffness without facility revamping from 4 high mill to 6 high mill. In this research work, the new back-up roll was developed and can be used in any type of 4 high mill to reduce the strip shape defects. The developed back-up roll consists of sleeve, arbor and phase angle adjusting system for arbor. The circumference of arbor is specially machined to adapt the strip width change during rolling. The experimental cold rolling test was done to prove the effectiveness of newly developed back-up roll. The experimental rolling results show that the new back-up roll has more powerful performance in reducing the shape defects than conventional back-up roll. It was also found that the new back-up roll has higher stability for shape control. In addition to, the only sleeve surface needs to be reground and changed in most cases, so that the maintenance cost can be greatly reduced.

Study on the Defects Detection in Composites by Using Optical Position and Infrared Thermography

  • Non-destructive testing methods for composite materials (e.g., carbon fiber-reinforced and glass fiber-reinforced plastic) have been widely used to detect damage in the overall industry. This study detects defects using optical infrared thermography. The transient heat transport in a solid body is characterized by two dynamic quantities, namely, thermal diffusivity and thermal effusivity. The first quantity describes the speed with thermal energy diffuses through a material, whereas the second one represents a type of thermal inertia. The defect detection rate is increased by utilizing a lock-in method and performing a comparison of the defect detection rates. The comparison is conducted by dividing the irradiation method into reflection and transmission methods and the irradiation time into 50 mHz and 100 mHz. The experimental results show that detecting defects at 50 mHz is easy using the transmission method. This result implies that low-frequency thermal waves penetrate a material deeper than the high-frequency waves.

Uncoupling Protein, UCP-4 May Be Involved in Neuronal Defects During Aging and Resistance to Pathogens in Caenorhabditis elegans

  • Uncoupling proteins (UCPs) are mitochondrial inner membrane proteins that function to dissipate proton motive force and mitochondrial membrane potential. One UCP has been identified in Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans), namely UCP-4. In this study, we examined its expression and localization using a GFP marker in C. elegans. ucp-4 was expressed throughout the body from early embryo to aged adult and UCP-4 was localized in the mitochondria. It is known that increased mitochondrial membrane protential leads to a reactive oxygen species (ROS) increase, which is associated with age-related diseases, including neurodegenerative diseases in humans. A ucp-4 mutant showed increased mitochondrial membrane protential in association with increased neuronal defects during aging, and the neurons of ucp-4 overexpressing animals showed decreased neuronal defects during aging. These results suggest that UCP-4 may be involved in neuroprotection during aging via relieving mitochondrial membrane protential. We also investigated the relationship between UCP-4 and innate immunity because increased ROS can affect innate immunity. ucp-4 mutant displayed increased resistance to the pathogen Staphylococcus aureus compared to wild type. The enhanced immunity in the ucp-4 mutant could be related to increased mitochondrial membrane protential, presumably followed by increased ROS. In summary, UCP-4 might have an important role in neuronal aging and innate immune responses through mediating mitochondrial membrane protential.

정적 시험을 사용한 CFTA거더의 제조시 강성 결함 탐색 (Detection of Manufacturing Defects in Stiffness of CFTA Girder using Static Loading)

  • 새로운 형태의 교량 거더인 CFTA(Concrete filled and tied tubular steel arch) 거더의 비선형 거동에 대해 고찰한 후, CFTA 거더의 대량 공장 생산시 콘크리트 충진 불량으로 발생할 수 있는 결함인 거더 안의 빈 공간을 탐지하는 새로운 방법을 제안하였다. CFTA 거더 안의 비대칭성 콘크리트 충진 불량 결함을 구조물의 대칭 거동을 이용하여 탐색하였으며, 수치해석과 실험을 통해 제안된 방법을 검증하였다. 제안된 방법을 수치적으로 검증하기 위해 3차원 유한요소모델을 사용하였으며, 실험적으로 검증하기 위해 CFTA거더의 정적 실험자료를 사용하였다.

녹용약침(鹿茸藥鍼)이 골형성(骨形成)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Healing of Bony Defects by Cervi Pantotricuhum Cornu Herbal Acupuncture)

  • Objective : Bone homeostasis is maintained by balance of bone formation and resorption. Therefore, bone related diseases arose by disturbance of this balance between osteoblast and osteoclast activities. To develop a successful screening system of the therapeutic components based on oriental medicine is essential to set out systematic approach for that purpose. Methods : This study was perforated Sprague-Dawley rat femur for bony defects(${\phi}5mm$) by the fissure bur. And experimetal group were treated with Cervi Pantotricuhum Cornu injection at both $Sh{\grave{e}}nsh{\tilde{u}}$(BL23) & $D{\grave{a}}zh{\grave{u}}(BL11)(0.2m{\ell})$. This was evaluated by radiography and histological analysis with in situ hybridization. Results : Cervi Pantotricuhum Cornu Herbal Acupuncture has weak effect on bony defect healing and this was evaluated by X-ray taking and histological analysis with in situ hybridization. Osteocalcin gene expression was not changed by Cervi Pantotricuhum Cornu Herbal Acupuncture in bony defects animal model. Conclusion : Taken together this study show that the Cervi Pantotricuhum Cornu herbal-acupuncture has a weak effect healing of bony defects, this type of approach might give a good chance to explore the favorable effects of Cervi Pantotricuhum Cornu herbal-acupuncture on bone tissue.
