The target-object classification method was implemented using a deep-learning-based detection model in real-time images. The object detection model was a deep-learning-based detection model that allowed extensive data collection and machine learning processes to classify similar target-objects. The recognition model was implemented by changing the processing structure of the detection model and combining developed the vision-processing module. To classify the target-objects, the identity and similarity were defined and applied to the detection model. The use of the recognition model in industry was also considered by verifying the effectiveness of the recognition model using the real-time images of an actual soccer game. The detection model and the newly constructed recognition model were compared and verified using real-time images. Furthermore, research was conducted to optimize the recognition model in a real-time environment.
In this paper, we introduce the methodology that utilizes deep learning-based front-end to enhance underwater feature matching. Both optical camera and sonar are widely applicable sensors in underwater research, however, each sensor has its own weaknesses, such as light condition and turbidity for the optic camera, and noise for sonar. To overcome the problems, we proposed the opti-acoustic transformation method. Since feature detection in sonar image is challenging, we converted the sonar image to an optic style image. Maintaining the main contents in the sonar image, CNN-based style transfer method changed the style of the image that facilitates feature detection. Finally, we verified our result using cosine similarity comparison and feature matching against the original optic image.
Hippocampus is a complex brain structure embedded deep into the temporal lobe. Studies have shown that this structure gets affected by neurological and psychiatric disorders and it is a significant landmark for diagnosing neurodegenerative diseases. Hippocampus features play very significant roles in region-of-interest based analysis for disease diagnosis and prognosis. In this study, we have attempted to learn the embeddings of this important biomarker. As conventional metric learning methods for feature embedding is known to lacking in capturing semantic similarity among the data under study, we have trained deep Siamese convolutional neural network for learning metric of the hippocampus. We have exploited Gwangju Alzheimer's and Related Dementia cohort data set in our study. The input to the network was pairs of three-view patches (TVPs) of size 32 × 32 × 3. The positive samples were taken from the vicinity of a specified landmark for the hippocampus and negative samples were taken from random locations of the brain excluding hippocampi regions. We have achieved 98.72% accuracy in verifying hippocampus TVPs.
In this study, we propose a new $PM_{10}$ forecasting model for Seoul region using DNN(Deep Neural Network) and secondary data. The previous numerical and Julian forecast model have been developed using primary data such as weather and air quality measurements. These models give excellent results for accuracy and false alarms, but POD is not good for the daily life usage. To solve this problem, we develop four secondary factors composed with primary data, which reflect the correlations between primary factors and high $PM_{10}$ concentrations. The proposed 4 models are A(Anomaly), BT(Back trajectory), CB(Contribution), CS(Cosine similarity), and ALL(model using all 4 secondary data). Among them, model ALL shows the best performance in all indicators, especially the PODs are improved.
As realistic media are widespread in various image processing areas, image or video compression is one of the key technologies to enable real-time applications with limited network bandwidth. Generally, image or video compression cause the unnecessary compression artifacts, such as blocking artifacts and ringing effects. In this study, we propose a Deep Residual Channel-attention Network, so called DRCAN, which consists of an input layer, a feature extractor and an output layer. Experimental results showed that the proposed DRCAN can reduced the total memory size and the inference time by as low as 47% and 59%, respectively. In addition, DRCAN can achieve a better peak signal-to-noise ratio and structural similarity index measure for compressed images compared to the previous methods.

As deep learning technologies becoming developed, realistic fake videos synthesized by deep learning models called "Deepfake" videos became even more difficult to distinguish from original videos. As fake news or Deepfake blackmailing are causing confusion and serious problems, this paper suggests a novel model detecting Deepfake videos. We chose Residual Convolutional Neural Network (Resnet50) as an extraction model and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) which is a form of Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) as a classification model. We adopted cosine similarity with hinge loss to train our extraction model in embedding the features of Deepfake and original video. The result in this paper demonstrates that temporal features in the videos are essential for detecting Deepfake videos.

The development of livestock faces intensive farming results in a rising need for recognition of individual animals such as cows and pigs is related to high traceability. In this paper, we present a non-invasive biometrics systematic approach based on the deep-learning classification model to pig face identification. Firstly, in our systematic method, we build a ROS data collection system block to collect 10 pig face data images. Secondly, we proposed a preprocessing block in that we utilize the SSIM method to filter some images of collected images that have high similarity. Thirdly, we employ the improved image classification model of CNN (ViT), which uses the finetuning and pretraining technique to recognize the individual pig face. Finally, our proposed method achieves the accuracy about 98.66%.
X-ray image analysis is a very important field to improve the early diagnosis rate and prediction accuracy of periodontal disease. Research on the development and application of artificial intelligence-based algorithms to improve the quality of such dental X-ray images is being widely conducted worldwide. Thus, the aim of this study was to design a super-resolution algorithm for predicting periodontal disease and to evaluate its applicability in dental X-ray images. The super-resolution algorithm was constructed based on the convolution layer and ReLU, and an image obtained by up-sampling a low-resolution image by 2 times was used as an input data. Also, 1,500 dental X-ray data used for deep learning training were used. Quantitative evaluation of images used root mean square error and structural similarity, which are factors that can measure similarity through comparison of two images. In addition, the recently developed no-reference based natural image quality evaluator and blind/referenceless image spatial quality evaluator were additionally analyzed. According to the results, we confirmed that the average similarity and no-reference-based evaluation values were improved by 1.86 and 2.14 times, respectively, compared to the existing bicubic-based upsampling method when the proposed method was used. In conclusion, the super-resolution algorithm for predicting periodontal disease proved useful in dental X-ray images, and it is expected to be highly applicable in various fields in the future.
In this paper, we proposed a three-dimensional visualization system for medical images in augmented reality based on deep learning. In the proposed system, the artificial neural network model performed fully automatic segmentation of the region of lung and pulmonary nodule from chest CT images. After applying the three-dimensional volume rendering method to the segmented images, it was visualized in augmented reality devices. As a result of the experiment, when nodules were present in the region of lung, it could be easily distinguished with the naked eye. Also, the location and shape of the lesions were intuitively confirmed. The evaluation was accomplished by comparing automated segmentation results of the test dataset to the manual segmented image. Through the evaluation of the segmentation model, we obtained the region of lung DSC (Dice Similarity Coefficient) of 98.77%, precision of 98.45%, recall of 99.10%. And the region of pulmonary nodule DSC of 91.88%, precision of 93.05%, recall of 90.94%. If this proposed system will be applied in medical fields such as medical practice and medical education, it is expected that it can contribute to custom organ modeling, lesion analysis, and surgical education and training of patients.

In this paper, we propose a application of conditional generative adversarial network (cGAN) for generation of contrast enhanced computed tomography (CT) image. Two types of CT data which were the enhanced and non-enhanced were used and applied by the histogram equalization for adjusting image intensities. In order to validate the generation of contrast enhanced CT data, the structural similarity index measurement (SSIM) was performed. Prepared generated contrast CT data were analyzed the statistical analysis using paired sample t-test. In order to apply the optimized algorithm for the lymph node cancer, they were calculated by short to long axis ratio (S/L) method. In the case of the model trained with CT data and their histogram equalized SSIM were $0.905{\pm}0.048$ and $0.908{\pm}0.047$. The tumor S/L of generated contrast enhanced CT data were validated similar to the ground truth when they were compared to scanned contrast enhanced CT data. It is expected that advantages of Generated contrast enhanced CT data based on deep learning are a cost-effective and less radiation exposure as well as further anatomical information with non-enhanced CT data.
